Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

I've been ordering from gohastings and other used dealers when their sales come to score some decent deals. Mostly used stuff for me and a few good deals here and there on some new stuff.

Picked up B1G1 OOP Dark Knight & Indiana Jones steelbooks at FYE. Not too shabby...the hubby is very happy to add them to his collection.

There's a one time use b1g1 code 20100412BIMRT1D. It only works on movies over $19.95. I guess they fixed the glitch.

Yep, I used it earlier today. Works as a B1G1+s/h.
Can buy a Blu-ray and get a dvd free, plus the Blu-rays are still 40% off.
As you say, it's a one time use code, and should work once per account.
The lucky part of it is, that it's supposed to be used as a reward for placing a purchase last month, but I tried it on a new account that I haven't made any purchases on and it worked.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

I think it might be time for me to close my accounts. I've been holding on in the hopes that some great deal will pop up, but no such luck for a few months now. Prices are pretty consistently good elsewhere and the B1G1 plus shipping deals they've been throwing at us ain't cutting it anymore.

Yeah, I used to have weekly deliveries and now can't even remember last time I placed an order (definitely never on this new site). $29 for a BLU and DVD is not a deal.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

Buying an overpriced $19.99+ blu-ray with 2.99 shipping then getting a heavily discounted dvd with $1.99 shipping doesn't seem like a deal at all. I hope we all fulfill our commitments then leave. Have you noticed then when you buy a blu-ray over $19.99 the dvd you add is discounted so much it's almost free anyway.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

I couldn't find a way to extract the code but I got an email today with this:

"BEST MEMBER PREVIEW: BE THE FIRST TO GET $19.95 BOXED SETS! - INCLUDES SHIPPING & PROCESSING"

This is for my fulfilled regular DVD account and I included the link above as it appears to either work for you or not. I tried a simple cut/paste of the critical portion of the URL on my unfulfilled TVonDVD account and got an error telling me:

"We are sorry. We are not able to display this page today. Would you like to view our Bestsellers?"

But the header was there. So... looks to be this weekend. There were 212 titles in the list with a few that are in current DD sales with prices a couple of $$ less at CH in this sale. The odd part is the sets aren't just a flat $19.95 as they've done before, but are price adjusted down so that when shipping is added the total is $19.95.

Is that their way of keeping these from counting as fulfillments?

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

^ Ya I was disappointed when I realized they weren't going to act as a fulfillment. On a brighter side the other day I placed two orders using the b1g1 code, one for each account. When I logged in to both of my accounts today they said that I had fulfilled my purchase commitment. These were my only orders with each account, so it seems that the free dvd's are counting as a fulfillment still. Has this happened to anyone else?

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

^^That's my thinking too. But with some of the past orders people have made where a lower priced selection still counted I'm going to give it a shot as I was going to order a couple of these from DD and they'll be the same price, or a bit less, from CH. If it doesn't count it'll be no loss.

And it could be that these will be $19.95 come the weekend and the price shuffle is their way of making the price happen earlier for some.

^ I feel the same way, but why cancel?

I'm keeping one account open just in case. Since there's no obligation or need to decline Directors' selections, it can just sit idle in case things ever change.

How'd you get the director's selections turned off?

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

I used the latest B1G1 code. Not the cheapest ever but counted for both my fulfillments instead of just one, definitely worth it.

I can. I placed a BOGO order for a Blu-ray with a DVD as the freebie. This obviously should have only counted as one fulfillment. At the time, I needed to buy two to fulfill my membership. However, CH now states that I have completed my obligation.

I used your link (with my DVD Club not TV Club - TV Club won't work) and all of them came up at $13.96... which at first seemed like a great deal... except... yep... they charged shipping... and after shipping... the price was 19.95 for each set.. fortunate.. there was nothing I really wanted..

I just used the b1g1 code 20100412BIMRT1D for my TV Enrollment obligation and it worked great. I needed 2 DVDs to fulfill my obligation and I bought 1 and got the other one Free and it said I fulfilled my obligation to buy 2 movies. Thank you for the code.

I just tried to use this code to buy series 1 and 3 of Doctor Who, and while it didn't say invalid, it didn't take one off. Any idea why?

B1G1 codes don't work for sets. You can Buy 1 but your freebie has to be DVD. Some sets like Tom & Jerry and Droopy used to work. I don't know if they still do or not.
