Did you already use the memberschoice50 code? You would get that order for just $28.77.

Yep--used it a long time ago along during that 20 then 15 then 10% off sale. I wish I had known the trick of extending your cart beyond 20 items trick at the time :)

If you have an old closed account and still know your membership number, you can reactivate the account and use the memberschoice50 code.

Is it easy to get a new account nowadays? Obviously the deal isn't as good as it used to be, but it is tempting enough just to get to use the 50% off coupon... Obviously I'd need to use a new email address, and new credit card (just in case), but do they approve quickly?

Is there an easy way to reactivate an account or do you have to go through customer service?

First off, posters at blu-ray.com state that the memberschoice50 code is disabled when CH offers free shipping.

To reactivate an old account, you'll need to know your old account number. Go to the sign in page and where it says catalog members, input your account number and zip code. Then just follow the instructions and you'll have your old account back.

I just tried that on an account canceled in 2011 and it didn't work

Sorry. Maybe 2011 is too far back. I was able to reactivate an account that I had closed last year. However, that was last month. CH might have fixed it so that you can no longer open old accounts.

I just tried to order some DVD's with B1G1F, and the discount isn't working. I tried 4 $9.95 titles, and nothing was taken off. I tried 2 $19.95 titles, and nothing was taken off. Then I tried a $22.95 title (Divergent) with a $19.95 title, and it took off $2.98?!?!?!?!?!
Weird. I just tried a 22.95 title with a 21.95 title, and it worked fine. Some titles work, some don't...

Last call. The buy 2, get 1 free promotion is supposed to end tonight. I just squeezed in one order under the wire---

Vertigo $11.97
The Birds $11.97
The White Ribbon FREE

$23.94 for three great films(I wanted Rear Window, but it wouldn't work).

Was just looking at their website for the sale. Anyone notice they are now starting a streaming service?

This is great--I have 76 points! Much better than the old system--while you can't get something 100% free, I like that they can be applied on any order and that it is a 12 month inactivity expire instead of the stupid use-it-or-lose-it at the end of December. Though, still can't combine with other sales/coupons.

And for some reason the account I have used the most over the last few months is showing a balance of 0 points. :(

Just when I'm out, they pull me back in. I have enough points to actually warrant placing a couple of orders. I WILL NOT place a pre-order however. Fool me five times, shame on me.

Same here. Of my 3 accounts, only one had bonus points (38). And I know why. That was the only ACTIVE account. The other accounts I had canceled, but continued to use. So apparently we screwed ourselves a bit by using canceled accounts...

My 3 accounts had 14, 6 and 12. I've spent a bunch more than that with all those recent sales/codes, but that minimum purchase price of $7.49 probably kept me from having more.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

My "real" account has 14. The one I was able to reactivate has none but should have a few. If they eventually show up, cool. If not, it's no big loss as I used that account to further take advantage all those great discount deals (which could by why there are no points but I didn't look that close).

movieguru 06-12-14 10:34 PM

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part VI

not too much use for this with regular titles. If you buy a regular DVD that's 24.95 you can only use points up to 75%, which means you have to pay $6.25 plus shipping, so at least $8.24 per title. there's currently a buy 1 get additional for $7.95, so you're really not benefiting there.

It could work ok if you want large boxed sets or complete series.

You also don't get the extra bonus points for buying boxed set like under the old system. Everything now regardless of price is only worth 2 bonus points.

Free shipping today and it does work on bonus point orders.:)

I received an email with a 10% off code two days ago. Has anyone else received it and tried it? Code is JUMPSTREET. I tried it this morning but could not get it to work.

+1

For reasons I can't explain, I placed an order for three pre-orders earlier this year and CH actually got two of the three shipped within a week of release and the third title (IIRC) was within two weeks...not bad for CH.

I held a seance before the order so that might have something to do with it...:D

FWIW, Bad Words Blu-ray is only $13.

I knew I shouldn't have used my points yesterday. But I was worried they would disable BD usage...
