Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part V

I just tried SBJ's BOGO code on my unfullfilled TV account and while the banner changed the prices did not. I was trying to get 2012 (pre) and Lord of War, I tried adding them to the cart in different orders but it didn't help. I see comanche_doyle got it to work so I must be missing something?

For some reason Lord of War doesn't qualify for a free dvd. You should just try a different one. I got Zombieland and The Hurt Locker as my free dvds.

I'm guessing the BOGO doesn't include free ship?

You are unfortunately correct. Also, the code is supposed to expire tonight at 11:59 EST.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part V

I was finally able to get a BOGO order with 2012/Alien Trespass, neither 2012/Lord of War nor 2012/Black Rain would work. With the new CH I didn't mind the shipping, I'm just happy to get the BOGO.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part V

Not great, but the b1g1 stacked on my 40% off with no additional purchase. I got Poirot 8 and 9 for $18.15. $5 of it was shipping. At this point any deal is giving me hope....

I just scooped Boogie Nights Blu-ray and To Catch a Thief-Centennial for just under $27. Not nearly as good as the old days, but quite acceptable.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part V

Okay ... there is a WHEEL OF DEALS email that I just received. Maybe this is our chance to figure out some codes.

Click on the email link to access your account. Then, go to CHECKOUT (view your shopping cart, even if empty). Your COUPON CODE field will be populated with the promo code you received.

Mine is FREE SHIPPING ON YOUR DVD ORDER OF $35 OR MORE and it gave me code 20100219WODT1D.

Not sure if they have the same code for every account and each account just gets a different offer or if the code you get is actually different. :-)

Here's to hoping!

I see there's a B1G2 spot on that wheel. And a free shipping spot. Sweet!

Yeah, but it'll never work on BD's, which is all I want. I'm thinking the 20% off combined with the 3 for $60 isn't too bad... I need to fulfill the account within 5 1/2 weeks...

Hmmm. Since only 20100219WODT1D and 20100219WODT3D work, as opposed to:

20100219WODT0D
20100219WODT2D
20100219WODT4D
20100219WODT5D
20100219WODT6D
20100219WODT7D
20100219WODT8D
20100219WODT9D

it appears that the B1G1, B1G2, and B1G75% off selections on the "wheel" are phony. Oh well. Maybe someday.

The good news is that it seems these codes are generally applicable to all accounts, just like the "good old days".

Yup, I just got the same results. I'm kinda pissed about the phony wheel.
I guess CH's level of ethics hasn't changed, only the codes.

It's a sad day when they start duping us with phony offers.

As opposed to the good old days when we were duping them with legitimate offers!

Are we really so naive as to expect that, when we spin the roulette wheel, the CH dealer won't have a foot on the pedal under the table?

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part V

FYI

The Extra 20% Off code 20100219WODT3D seems to work with Box sets as long as you have a regular DVD or Blu-ray in your cart as well. If you only have a box set, it does not work.

It ended up being cheaper to add a budget title in when I made a purchase.

Extra 20% Off- 20100219WODT3D stacks with the 3 for $60 Blu-rays. Once you checkout the system subtracts the 20% from the subtotal.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part V

20% off isnt bad, but far from a deal with the hellified markup that CH does. But, at least there is hope that better stuff is looming.

Buy 1 get additional dvds at 60% off is a "hellified markup"? Where do you buy dvds at? The average cost is still far cheaper than most retails stores for me.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part V

This is BD country, homeslice. So, those normal 60% off codes dont apply to me. And are any 60% codes even active right now?

CH's markup is high as hell. You can pretend that it's not, but it is, even with the 60% off or any other promotion, other than perhaps a BOGO, since the initial movie is going to cost around $20. With BDs, it's even worse.
