Yep. Banner says no other purchase required, but the shopping cart is calling it a liar and a cheat and a lousy lay. Too bad, because there were a few titles I would have picked up at 60% + FS.

Ok, I didn't get much sleep last night, so that's my excuse.

I thought the email said 60% off, but it only says FREE S/H... and it does say that the offer expires at midnight tonight.

Now when I log into my account, the standard offer is the 60% off with no other purchase necessary, and the free shipping is active too.
Just like everyone else though, when I add dvds to the cart, it acts as a B1 get 60% off.

Of course if you enter a different code, the free s/h disappears.

Well whaddya know. Log into my account tonight, er, this morning and there's that 70% off banner for DVDs. Doesn't appear to include blueys. Hope a free shipping code comes into view while this buggar is still live. That would be nice. ... That would put the price for loads of DVDs right around that nice B1G4 snafu they had last year. Was it last year?

Hi there!

I've been reading up on this thread for a couple of weeks.

I am having so much trouble entering promotion codes and having them actually work.

Columbia House routinely sends me DVDs, even when I reject the director's selection..and this is definitely a huge problem I'm having with them, so I'm canceling my CC associated with my CH account as soon as the newest selection arrives and is refunded.

Anyway, so I was sent an apology letter with a code for Buy one Get one Free.

No matter how many times I enter the code, or other codes on this page, nothing seems to work.

What am I doing wrong? I'd really appreciate any help here!!!!! Thanks!!

If your CC company offers "virtual" cards I'd recommend you set that up and use them at CH. You can setup a single use or date/amount limited card and just let it expire (or set a limit too low for a selection charge to go through). Then simply add a 2nd virtual card when you really want to make a purchase. Keep the default card the expired/low limit one and you should not have as many problems with unwanted selections. You might even want to delete any non-expired card as a routine matter and only put a card in the system when making a purchase.

Nice Surprise. 807088 banner says 70% plus 10% additional, but it appears to be giving me 15% additional. Or maybe and additional 15% on the 70 + 10? (It seems I'm not that great at math, but I sure do like these deals.)

If my math is right it's only giving me the 70% + 10%. The cart also shows the 15% you mention but it's not actually being deducted. Of course, if you're buying horror titles there's another 10% off.

All I know is I'd have a huge order if a sitewide free shipping happened to overlap that code.

No kidding, the free shipping would definitely be a wonderful addition.

I really do think it is taking the 15% or something extra -- because I made an order with the 70 + 10, and the prices are definitely lower with this code now.

Let's take Wolverine 2 disc special edition -- it was $7.49 (plus ship) two days ago, and with the 15% off thing it is $6.74 (plus ship) ... it's definitely lower -- by $.75 which IS an additional 10% from the $7.49 (70% + 10%.)

This was consistent with every title. Just started last night though.

I have 4 open accounts currently, and when logging into 3 of them, the banner has the FREE S&H on dvd order / 3 BRs for $60 from a select list.

However, there is NO list to be found anywhere, and adding 3 BRs to cart does not equal $60.
Checking out, there is also no free shipping to be found, whether its BRs or DVDs in the cart.

Yes, on the left side it said 40%off, on the right side, it said BR3for60.
When I'd click on the banner, it had no details at all about the deal as it usually does. It just ahd the regular fine print disclaimer crap.

Now this evening, when I log back into those accounts, the BR3for60 is GONE!
I bet they pulled it because it was not working, or they just made a " big dumb Horse" mistake.
Now I feel like I just got kicked in the face by CH.
