Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part IV

Thanks Jester.

This code actually worked out slightly better than B1G1 for me, since I ordered a set:

805658 - b1 + 60% off + $10 off $35 order

Unfortunately, I couldn't get any of the codes that involved free shipping or flat rates on sets to work on a fulfilled or unfulfilled account.

You can always take a Blu-ray and/or a pre-order as the paid part of a BOGO. The trick is to get it as the freebie.

Shipping kills this deal for me. I would be better off using a B1G1 code (buying a Blu-Ray and taking a free DVD).

Isn't there a B1G2 code from the Wheel of Deals, or did that deal end last week?

Anyone else having problems with the b1g1 +free shipping.

Free ones are showing up fine...but when I go to check out...the S/H continues to show up.

Probably because you have a set (next to price on item details page it will say no other purchase neccessary) in your cart. I.e. Madagascar 2 with the penguins bonus disc is considered a set and you have to pay $2.98 shipping for your b1g1fs order.

All the blu-rays are appearing "to me as "no other purchase neccessary" and resulting in a $2.99 shipping charge.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part IV

Maybe, but that isn't what is defined in their offer terms, "FREE SHIPPING offer is only applicable on DVDs, Blu-Ray DVDs and Pre-Orders. Boxed Sets, video games and non-DVD merchandise do not receive Free Shipping."

I have a message into customer service...........

Good luck with that.

CH is always so good about honoring the terms of their sale codes, which are always so accurate. I hope you got the offer as a link from an email or as your standard login offer, and not as a result of a code from this forum...........

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part IV

Not many current codes now -

801490 - b1g1 unlimited
802428 - b1 + 50% off + 10% off DVD Order
802463 - b1g1 + 50% off
805628 - b1 + 60% off + 10% off DVD Order
805663 - b1g1 + 60% off

However, there are a few others that might become active in next few days -

802152 - b1 + 50% off + Free S&H on DVD Order
805152 - b1 + 60% off + Free S&H on DVD Order
805166 - Free DVD with switch to "paperless" (Details?)
809052 - 40% off + Free S&H on DVD Order

I wonder if this will be like the free CD codes that have been around for BMG lately. Could be a nice code if so.

This just appears to be the actual code that lets you access the paperless function that was available up until the end of January. You hit the small ad banner on your account that says "Go paperless!" if you're not already paperless, it takes you to a screen where you switch from mail to paperless, then you follow an almost-hidden link that takes you to a list of 50 DVDs from which you can choose one for free. I got White Noise on one of my accounts. I can't remember what I got on the other one. Check the Questions thread for discussion about it maybe 2 or 3 months ago. There was also a separate thread that wound up talking about it that has probably dropped off the first page by now (original subject was not about the paperless deal).
Once you clicked through on the deal, it was no longer accessible on your account. The banner ad changed to reflect a 60%-off additional and free shipping offer.
And, I believe that if you screwed up and didn't follow the almost-hidden link to the list of available titles, you couldn't get back to it again in the future.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part IV

I am new to Columbia House. I tried all of the above codes and none were active for my account. I put them in under that Looking for the offer in your mailing? link. Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks for your help

That's disappointing if that's all it is. When that deal was going on before I signed up for an account and specifically made it a paper account so I could switch and get a free DVD. The deal never did work right and I never did get that DVD.

Re: Columbia House Sale Offer Codes, Part IV

When you change it in your account and go to the link on the free dvd it says this as the details (at the bottom of the page).

Go Paperless by choosing email as your mailing preference and then select your Free DVD. You must Go Paperless and check out with your Free DVD by December 18, 2008, when this special offer will end.

It didn't work for me (gave me the listing, but not thet price of free) we'll see if the code part will make it work.
