Glad I popped into this thread today before the B1G1 expired. I've had the Texas Chainsaw Massacre Ultimate Edition in my cart for a long time. Picked up a clearance title and ended up with TCM as a freebie...very nice.

I picked up Game 6 and Red Lights from the clearance and got two others free. Thanks for the ideas.

Glitch w/ clearance items may have ended early. Got in several last night, but then couldn't get Game 6 or the Nutcracker to work with anything. Tried all combinations, logging out, multiple browsers, ...

B1G1 logo is still up as of right now, but clearance titles still aren't working w/ 19.95 titles.

Oh well, got 6 or so in. Thanks to all for the ideas/tips.

Trevor, Game 6 and Nutcracker are the only 2 clearance titles that have a regular club price of less than 19.95... that's why they wouldn't work with any of the 19.95 titles.

Well color me stupid! I specifically looked for that, but guess I'm not good at reading strikethru text anymore. Off to find a classic 14.95 and 16.95 title then.

B1G1F is still working as of 1 minute ago.

Just wanted to note that today's deal of the day is Find Me Guilty. I don't know if it's any good or not (Ebert liked it), but it's only $4.95 and has a regular club price of 19.95, so even if it ends up being a "throwaway" title, it'll still work well with the B1G1.

Looks like the B1G1F was officially extended. Site now shows "today only August 28th".

I grabbed Atonnement (HD/DVD) 12.95
What Happens in Vegas Jackpot FREE

Beowulf (HD) 12.95
Street Kings FREE

The Invasion (HD/DVD) 12.95
Meet The Browns Special Edition FREE

Anne Rice Feast of All Saint's 17.97
Be Kind Rewind FREE

Shrek the Third (HD) 12.95
Day Watch FREE

Total 72.76 (for some reason I had a 2.99 shipping charge) It wasn't worht worrying about.

My real total was 69.77 ....... 7 bucks per dvd not bad for me....I know you can get lower but this worked for what I wanted.

If you know any collectors sets that can be picked up pretty cheap let me know.

I picked up:

Find Me Guilty - $4.95
The Fog of War - FREE

Total: $4.95

If you're a Sidney Lumet fan, and want to see Vin Diesel give a surprisingly good performance NOT playing an action hero cartoon character, check out Find Me Guilty. It pokes fun at the mafia in a similar manner to Analyze This.

Thanks for the tip/reminder, Al. Made a couple of orders last night. Off to find another $19.95 title now...

Is there any way to get a listing of which HD-DVDs (NOT blu-rays) that CH has available?

cardsfan, you're welcome.

Just click on "features" on the left side of home page. There will be a link in there for HD DVD sale. You can also just type HD DVD in the search box.

Ended up pairing Miracle on 34th Street (2-disc SE) with Find Me Guilty...$5.30 shipped.

I might suggest this thread if you're looking for 2-disc special editions and such to use as a freebie: Link (of course they may not all be $19.95 - but at least it'll give you some suggestions)

You paid shipping because of Anne Rice, it's a set.

Sorry if I'm an idiot, I should already know this but forgot and don't have it written down. I can't find it on the CH website, and the FAQ thread is wayyyy out of date.
What I'm trying to find out is, how many commitments are credited for higher priced titles and price points for cutoff. Like how much do you have to spend for your purchase to counts for two commitments, then three, ect...

TIA

Good resource, but the first post hasn't been updated in 6 months. Hint hint nudge nudge That'sAllfolks.

On the HDs, I'm sure it's something I'm doing wrong (again), but I can get them all to "work" except Bourne Supremacy. It will give me a cheap title free, but not a 19.95 title, even though that is it's club price.

Finally got it to work. Didn't change anything, it just decided to work (with Dirty Harry) on the 3rd or 4th attempt.

Here are a couple ideas.

The just reduced TV sets like the Adult Swim stuff marked down to 17.97 will give you a $21.95 or so regular DVD for free.

The just reduced down to $11.97 TV sets will give you a less than $19.95 regular DVD for free.
