Warner Brothers DVDs at Columbia House

It seems like several new Warner Brothers DVDs are not available at CH. I don't know if this is something new or just something I've never noticed. I was going to fulfill with some new WB titles that come out today but they are not available:

Straight Time
The Cowboys (Remastered)
Scarface (1932)

Anyone have any info or opinions?

True Grit
Rio Bravo Ultimate Collectors Edition
Flag of Our Fathers (2 disc)
Letters From Iwo Jima/Flags Of Our Fathers (5 Disc version)

Yeah, I'm mostly disappointed with how CH handles many re-releases. Makes it less essential of a club to join when you can't a lot of the titles you look forward to. Will they even bother with catalog re-releases like Red Dawn, Flash Gordon, Rio Bravo, An Officer and a Gentleman or Flag of Our Fathers? Who knows... probably not.

I started noticing this trend last year. It took quite a while after release date for the Classic Musicals From the Dream Factory set to show up (and probably others, but that one I had a particular interest in). I eventually lost patience and bought it elsewhere.

It's not just WHV releases, either...last summer when Universal's Glamour Collection sets were released it took months after release date, I think, before they showed up on the catalog.

Scarface (1932) is a Universal film.

The lack of Straight Time does not surprise me. It is a great film, but not widely known. It is part of the Warner Directors' Showcase. I do not think any of the Directors' Showcase titles from wave 1 or 2 are are carried by CH, except Prince of the City.

Right you are, but even so...why is it not on there?

I guess I'm not familiar with the "Director's Showcase" line.

Looks like they're not going to be consistent with that either - they have "Prince of the City".
