Anyone know how long CH tries to authorize a credit card before cancelling the order?
I just placed a the largest of several large funcash orders ($175 FC used) during the weekend sale on an Amex giftcard, which only allows authorizations up to the card's prepaid limit.
Like a moron, I forgot about a previous order, and ended placing that $95 purchase on a card with only $86 in available credit on it. Naturally, it's the one in my order history with a "to be assigned" on it.
I called today to see about paying with another credit card, etc...but of course that can't happen (they say)--the order would need to be cancelled and replaced.
Since I now have a negative FC balance (due to backorders and holds), and since I got some laughably good deals with the FC set pricing, I'm dubious that I could replace this order by redoing it...
SO, my question is, does anyone have good info as to how long CH will keep trying to authorize the card before they cancel? I was told they try 3 times, but the CSRs didn't know how many days this would be spread over...TIA.
