$5 web discount disappeared
Just a little heads up... i used the $5 web discount about 6 or 7 times in the past couple of weeks, and i just found out that they screwed me over and charged me full price anyways... just check it out and make sure they didn't do the same thing to you... i e-mailed them and hopefully they'll correct the error.... perhaps i might have to even get on the phone

I seriously doubt they're going to be sympathetic when you've used it 6 or 7 times. They're going to say it's only off the first order. I only placed two orders on the same account with the $5 discount and their system re-placed the orders without the discount. They wouldn't take the $5 off on but one order when I called about it. Placing orders on their site is like a casino game where you have to wait and see if your order goes through at the price it's supposed to. When it doesn't, it's very difficult to get the discounts back if you weren't really supposed to have them in the first place.

$5 isn't worth messing up a relationship with CH. If an initial email or phone call isn't successful, it's best to just move on and wait for the next CH snafu that will work in our favor. I've found that CH messes up as often in my favor as to my detriment. Why risk getting blacklisted for such a small amount of money? It's fairly apparent that the "rules" no longer support the $5 off for an initial order; even though their systems still "think" that may be the case.

i agree, normally not worth risking it, but i'm moving to a new dorm room soon, so i can get an new address, credit card, etc, etc very easily.... not a big deal for me to get blacklisted...

I got the discount from following the link in their welcome email. But, true to form, they later took off the discount. I complained and their email claims they credited me $5, but I haven't checked my Mastercard account to see if they returned the money or not. Ask, and ye shall receive, unless you were abusing the system.
