Do me a favor, click on the link in the e-mail. Stop the page from fully loading. If your timing is good, you'll see the 6 digit offer code in the URL. This might take several attempts before it appears in the URL. If successful, please post the code. Thanks!

Those words about the offer were in plain text. Any link elsewhere in the email either bring me to the log-in page or the product description. I just couldn't get the offer code by clicking the links. I tried. I guess the offer was added directly into my account. But I could be wrong. Is there anyone else got the same email?

Click on the "Upcoming Releases" link in the e-mail. You have to stop the page(site) from loading. Check your address bar. It is a pain in the ass and it will take several attempts, but eventually you should see columbiahouse.com/sa/ch/index.jsp?memID=(whatever your 11 digit account number is)&onlineStr=(this is where the six digit offer code will be). Thanks.

How the heck did you get that? Did you sleep with the CH President's mother-in-law?

Yes, I know the trick and already tried it. I got the code 108012 from the url but it seems not to be recognized by manually input. So I didn't mention it earlier. You may try it out if you want. I just repeated it several times and got the same results. Good luck.

I signed in with another newly fulfilled account and tried the code 108012, still not recognizable. Then I signed out and signed in again using the account with the offer email, the offer showed up on top of my browser. So I guess it's linked to my account.

Make sure your account has an email on file, check the website to confirm. It may have been deleted my accident or something.

Since all sale offer codes begin with 80, the code you list probably isn't the offer code. If you get the correct interim URL you will see Str=80xxxx& in it. There are other numbers in the three URLs that are used to link from the e-mail to your account, of course.

Another possibility is that a Columbia House e-mail address is blocked by a spam filter. I stopped getting certain kinds of CH e-mails because I had accidentally marked one of them as spam. I found the address on my blocked addresses list. Once I removed it, I started getting the CH e-mails as usual. Columbia House uses several different addresses for different kinds of e-mail, so getting some messages does not mean that no CH addresses are blocked.

I tried multiple times but wasn't able to get any 80XXXX code from the URL. Sorry, I've tried.

The code for B1G1, 60% off additional DVDs and free shipping is 806162. I just used it and it worked fine.

So far as I have been able to determine, code scraping will only work with Internet Explorer. If you were using another browser, such as Firefox, that might explain why you couldn't get it to work. Even with IE, it takes practice to halt the page load at the right time.

On my Mac I use safari and normally get it on the first or second try.

I do use IE and I practiced a lot. But no matter how hard I tried, I still could not work this out. It's not like that I did not know how to play the trick. I got two codes from two other CH's emails today and posted them in Rogue588's post here: http://forum.dvdtalk.com/showthread.php?t=483644
But that one, it's just cranky.

Try rmallory's code 806162, it should work. At least works for me.

Thanks for the information. That's the first Safari code scraping report that I can recall.
