8 intro DVDs this time around.

Choose 8 DVDs for $0.49 each, plus shipping and processing. All you need to do is buy 3 DVDs over the next 2 years at our regular Club prices (currently as low as $19.95 each, plus shipping and processing, and you may cancel at any time after doing so by contacting Customer Service. As a Bonus, you can take the 9th movie now for $9.95 plus shipping and processing and have only 2 more movies to buy (instead of 3) in the next 2 years.
The only catch is that you have to pay the shipping. That makes the enrollment package $31.78. Even if you decline the extra DVD to reduce commitment your enrollment package is still $19.84. I'm not sure this code is good for much of anything compared to the 7:2 codes we usually use.

The best codes are what we call "7:2": 6 for 49¢ each plus one for $9.95, free shipping, with two purchases to fulfill. There are dozens of such codes, including a bunch in the first post of this thread.

So far as I am aware, there are no codes that offer 7 enrollments for 49¢ with free shipping.

8*0.49 plus 1*9.95 plus 9*1.99 = 31.78

Plus tax (ymmv).

I tried to call in an order with EBP and they told me it wasn't a valid code.

Of course, every code has worked online, but being the poor business model that they are, CH seems to like to ignore a lot of online account openings. I guess the price of cheap DVDs is getting them from a fifth-rate company.

^It has been reported several times before that EBP no longer works on the phone. From one of my posts above (#201):
You could try 98W, 59H, 75X, 75Y, 76C on the phone: 888-242-3837. In addition to these, any good 7:2 code received in a mail-in offer should work fine on the phone.
There have been several reports that 98W worked on the phone, albeit none in the last few weeks. 76W is a recent mail-in code that might work on the phone.

I successfully opened an account using 76W over the phone on January 16th.

After a lengthy absence (well...lengthy for me anyway), I tried 76W online and it worked after having probably a half-dozen failed (lost) attempts a few months ago. Whether it was the code, CH improving their act, or just waiting a while longer between enrollments I don't know.

I noticed something interesting and was wondering if anyone else has seen the same...

After using my open account number for my 76W online app PSN, I was granted a new membership and logged in to it, placed a fulfillment order, etc. Now when I tried logging in to my older open account, it is no longer recognized - as in it appears to have been automatically closed. I assume this is because I used it as a PSN for my new enrollment. Anyone else experience this?

Yeah. I had this same exact thing happen to me, though my old account wasn't even fulfilled yet. I might could have just let it go and not have to have done my last fulfillment, but I wanted to make sure they wouldn't charge me so I had Customer Service re-open it.

I also had my (very) old account closed when I opened a new one. Thought it was a fluke but maybe not, if others are having the same experience. Curious.

Happened to me to.. and actually worked to my advantage. I hadn't been able to get a new account open for over a year. My wife says she's gonna buy Bourne Ultimatum on release day at circuit city. I say no friggin way... there's a buy 1 get 60% 0ff and free shipping going on at CH so she can wait a few days. So I order :

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
The Bourne Ultimatum
The Simpsons Movie
and a pre-order of 3:10 to Yuma
for $43.38

I pay $23.43 (7.81 per) for the first three and they ship 'em.

then I try to set up a new account using the existing one for a psn ( never done that before) and It goes through in 2 days!

I find I can't get into the old one and I have a pending pre-order! I email CH and they respond that my new account is ..yada yada ..old one closed... and they have canceled my pre-order!.. which was the qualifying full priced item to get the 60% off!

--Cool!

and BTW has anyone had this happen? when the 7 titles came for the new account, I opened the box and thought .. sh*t they screwed my order up.. sitting on top was some Jet Li movie "The One" and "Rebel without a Cause" 2 disc that I didn't order.. But everything else was there too.. so looks like they through 'em in for filler..

^Although I don't know which of the many on-line codes allow the "Bill Me" option (perhaps all of them), it has been reported that one can request "Bill Me" on phone enrollments.

You could try 98W, 59H, 75X, 75Y, 76C, 76W on the phone: 888-242-3837. 76W has been reported to work on the phone recently.

If you would like to take over the maintenance of this thread, you are welcome to do so (talk to a mod about getting a new Enrollment Codes, Part III, thread substituted for this one).

It takes a lot of work to maintain the Columbia House database threads and older forum members tend to drift away once they have most of the CH DVDs they want. The first post was last updated in July of last year so, of course, it isn't current.

I have zero patience for whiners. If you don't like it, pitch in and help, otherwise you'll just have to do the best you can with what information we do post here by reading back a few pages.

Based on the few I have experience with the ones that require a PSN allow "bill me" while the others do not. BUT I've only done 5-6 applications for the DVD club with about a 50/50 split. The TVonDVD club is another story...
