? about rain check DVD's
I'm entitled to a rain check DVD that I can only do via the phone or email. I was under the impression that ny movie as long as it was priced under $19.95 fell in that category. Apparantly not, as I am unable to get 'Lucky Number Slevin' (I know it's not due for release until tomorrow).
Apparantly, according to the email, only those used when you initially join the club fall into this category. Is this correct?
In other words, are those that are available @49c considered as a rain check?
Will I have any luck with relatively new releases that have been out say a month?

A rain check from an enrollment package can only be used on a DVD eligible for enrollment. If you want to use your rain check on "Slevin" you can wait until it becomes available for enrollment, probably in December.
In the past, the best way to use a rain check was to call it in. But many have trouble reaching a CSR on the phone nowadays. I am surprised that you apparently were told you can't use a rain check by e-mail; I would have guessed that it would work fine. I'd have to see the text of that e-mail to be convinced that you can't redeem a rain check that way. Even then, I'd probably give it another try: [email protected]
Mailing in the rain check would work but is a nuisance.

I just cashed in my Enrollments from an account I opened up back in April. CH initiated the offer by phone and I accepted, choosing only my 1st selection ($4.95 since I added my CC for payment). They sent me an order from with the limited # of stamps to choose my additional 5 FREE movies. You can still use selections numbers from the website instead of the stamps and that's what I did. A few of the movies I know weren't available as enrollments when the account was first offered.

Thanks guys. I'm going to check the post that lists the movies that are now available for enrollment and see if anything there catches my eye. I'm in no big hurry, but also don't want to wait until December for 'Slevin'.
**edit** decided there really wasn't worth anything that's become available recently and opted to go for the 2 disc 'New Jack City'

^Rain checks can be used on any title available for enrollment. Some two disc sets are available for enrollment, others are not. Usually two disc special editions that also have single disc versions are not available.
If you go to the main columbiahouse.com website without logging in as a member (just use it as if you are enrolling in a new account) you should be able to tell which DVDs are available for enrollment. Anything listed for 49¢ should work with a rain check. Anything listed as "members only" will not.
