A Sign of Things to Come?(CH Has a Sony Title Up for Preorder)
CH has Underworld Evolution available as a preorder. This is the first Sony(Columbia Tri-Star) title to be available for preorder in years. Hopefully this is the beginning of a new trend and that they will also start making Universal titles available for preorder as well.

Weird that it doesn't show up in the pre-order (upcoming releases) section on the site though. Maybe this is another CH glitch, who knows.
Thanks for the heads up, will have to keep our eyes open. It would be nice if more pre-orders were available.

Yep, it's there now! Typical CH zaniness
I hope The Three Burials Of Melquiades Estrada shows up as a pre-order too, as it has the same release date as Underworld.

The last Sony title I remember seeing available for pre-order was Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle. It eventually vanished from the pre-order list and did not show up until release day.

I was crusing around the site earlier and I did notice that they had the Fried Green Tomatoes: Anniversary Edition up for preorder, which is a Universal title. Who knows...maybe they are slowly allowing Universal preorders as well.

Was there ever an explanation given for why certain studios weren't being available for preorder? Or was it along the same lines as "Sorry, we can't give you a membership right now and don't have any reason to give you"?

They just added another Columbia TriStar title. The Pink Panther(Steve Martin's remake) is now available for preorder. We should start a master list of all Sony and Universal titles that are now available for preorder.

^Not likely. Columbia House did carry Fox (and Disney/BuenaVista/Miramax) titles for awhile but Fox pulled out of the deal several years ago.
Given how little Columbia House pays for the DVDs they sell us, it is a mystery to me why any of the studios supply DVDs to CH. But is is good for us that they do.

This is likely along the lines of the limited Jarhead and others which CH never got either. We'll find out next week though.
