Signing up for a second account?
Alright I currently have a Columbia House account and want to cycle through a second one. When setting up the second account should I have a different email and address or is just a different email good enough? I am still having problems setting up a second account online cause when I pick my 5 DVDs and then type in my information it takes me back to the same page and says I need to put valid information in. I tried two different browsers and clearing my cache. Is there some sort of method to setting up a second account?

You can use all the exact same info (e-mail, etc.) for the second account. You are allowed two accounts per physical address.
If the web is causing you a problem, I'd just call it in (it does sound like you are experiencing a browser issue -- make sure you are using IE). You are more likely to get accepted thru the phone anyhow (many fewer "lost" applications).

I'm currently overlapping two accounts per cycle. After fulfilling a first account, I keep that open while applying for the second. I haven't tried opening a second account with another account unfulfilled. That may work, but I strive for predictability (hard to get with CH), and using only phone orders in the manner just described has been working every time.

I finally got it to work using a friends AOL web browser. I tried Internet Explorer for but some reason it still didn't work, not sure why yet.

Just curious what the typical waiting period is for the them to send you, your approved account information. They say a week, but most people on here I read get their account approved next day or within 2 days, and do they tell you if your account has been declined?

Yeah my confirmation was like two days. That was for my first account though. I'm planning on attempting another one soon so thanks for the info here!

And I don't think I'll be blacklisted because I got yet another come-on from them on Saturday. And yet I don't count as a "high-status" customer.

Re: multiple accounts
Yes, you can have more than two open accounts under certain circumstances. But the massive experience of those here has determined that two is the limit for most of us. When one applies for an additonal account with two open already, one usually gets a letter asking why one wants an additional account. So, stick to two accounts open at the same time, per club, at a given address.
As others have said, one can use the same credit card, e-mail address, and so forth. It isn't a big deal; Columbia House encourages additional accounts whenever one closes an old one.
Having multiple accounts has nothing whatever to do with being blacklisted. I have no idea where this myth came from. The blacklist is for those that Columbia House no longer wants for customers. Those CH suspects of selling DVDs are a prime example. Other examples would be those who don't pay in a timely manner or who have many "bad" returns without cause (damaged DVDs are considered "good" returns, i.e. the fault was with CH).
