Does this mean I have to wait until the remove this offer before I can fulfill it?
Just call them up or select that you want the other to be at full price.

You should be able to use the web site to specify which ones you want to pay full price for, but sometimes it doesn't display that option for some strange reason (their site really does have problems).

Waiting for the offer to end won't do any good, since they always have some sort of offer. You might try clearing your cookies. And calling is also an option of course.

Arggh, completely didn't see that option but do now that you mentioned it.

Thank you both.

If that doesn't work, can't you just place two separate orders?
(Unless of course you save like a buck on shipping, I forget..)

Seems everything is on sale so I might have a hard time finding fulfillments over $19.95. I also thought the count as list was as follows posted in the other thread..

$19.95 - $39.94: Counts as 1 unit
$39.95 - $59.94: Counts as 2 units
$59.95 - $79.94: Counts as 3 units
$79.95 - $99.94: Counts as 4 units
$99.95 and higher: Counts as 5 units

but my account shows..

$19.95 to $49.99 1 Selection
$50.00 to $89.99 2 Selections
$90.00 to $149.99 3 Selections
$150.00 and Higher 4 Selections

That with $19.95 titles not counting as fulfillments being on sale alters what I was planning to fulfill with. I was either going to get 2 $19.95 movies or a tv set at $39.95 to fulfill (didn't realize they charge so much for shipping those either which kills it).

Edit: hmm, idiot.. didn't realize the sale price had to do with getting the discount only with purchase of regular priced titles. Thought that was the price.

Still wish the count as list was what was posted in the other thread so I could pick up something like King of Queens with free shipping (do they ever offer free shipping or atleast regular shipping for tv sets?) and have it count as my entire fulfillment.
The same stuff is listed on my newest TV Club account. However, when I place a $44.96 set in my cart it is listed as counting as two commitments. I hope I don't get burned if I actually make the purchase.

Oh, and I have the get unlimited at 40% off after 1 full price selection. There is also no free shipping with my current deal.

Does anyone know the code for the AOS that had been the typical deal on TV accounts? I'd like to try and see if it works on my account.

Yeah, it appears they go by the list price and not the special price for the count as so as long as that is over $50.00 it will show count as 2. If I had free shipping I might consider using a set to fulfill but I can't find anything that lists right at $50.00 so that with shipping pushes most everything that interests me around $30 which isn't that big of deal.

My offer is unlimited at $10 off after 1 full price purchase.

About the free shipping thing, I don't think my account actually mentioned it anywhere -- you just have to add three disks to your cart, go to check out and see if it charges you shipping or not.

There's a picture in the details section (for AOS accounts) which indicates that purchasing three titles=free shipping

Maybe you should call in to report the counting commitments. According to the Guide including in your introductory package, it should

$19.95 - $39.94: Counts as 1 unit

$39.95 - $59.94: Counts as 2 units

$59.95 - $79.94: Counts as 3 units

$79.95 - $99.94: Counts as 4 units

$99.95 and higher: Counts as 5 units

If someone remember, during the 40% off boxsets sale, I was able to get Babylon 5 for $59.97 and it counted as 3 which is just 3 cents higher than something counts as 2

Anyone else having crappy luck getting accounts to open? I think Ive tried at least 6 times and only had 1 go through. Just tried my first phone order just now...I dont know if its just a TV club policy or a new CH policy instituted, but she had to tape record her reading the club details to me and me agreeing to it. What a waste of time.

So, tell me if this is correct...

I buy "Looney Tunes: The Golden Colelction" Regular price = $64.92, on sale for $45.45, and my 2 fullfillments are met?

Yup. Just tried this with my TV Edition account and it shows the following in my cart:

Counts towards commitment (2.0 units)

Well, I signed up online for a second TV edition account on 6/3 and I've gotten nothing but the initial "thank you for your application" email. No charges on my credit card either. I guess it got lost. I also tried opening a normal DVD club account online on the 8th, but no word about that either. This is annoying.

Thanks for making this thread. Lots of good info.

I just called in and applied for the 2/2 HDL deal. I have tried 1-2 before on the web and nothing, I hope this one goes through.

When you called in did they confirm the obligation was for only 2 DVDs? As noted in another thread, today I have been told twice that HDL has expired and all I can get is the regular 2/4 deal.

So is the free shipping a random thing? Just received my HDL enrollment today (signed up over the phone on 6/7)...couldnt get the account # over the phone because the guy said I had had too many accounts open on this card (yeah it was a lot, but its never been a problem before, and it was the first TV club account ever on it). Added 3 titles to the cart, no free shipping. I wanted to get Quantum Leap without the $5.99 shipping, but now I might just order two movies and get QL from DDD.

I think so since it appears to be hit or miss for people.

Regarding the count as commitments. My welcome packaged showed $39.95 or above like everyone said but is that list price or CH's price?

Also, is the only way to get that is by phones since my account help section states $50 or above and that one counts the list price and not CH's price based on adding stuff to my cart.

I think the ppl who've gotten free shipping have probably
1) Submitted their application online
2) Placed an order within 24 hours of receiving their New Account Acceptance e-mail.

The free shipping isn't stated anywhere but if you add 3 items to your cart, you'll get free shipping.

The way I found I had free shipping on my account was to click on the "details" link next to my current offer at the top of the page. It showed free shipping for 3 or more titles. Of course, when I tried to place my order online, it showed that it was charging for shippping, so I ended up calling the order in. She had no problem giving me the free shipping and the $5 web discount.

The free shipping was part of an AOS deal that most of us got when we were initially opening up TV Club accounts. Sometimes it took a couple of days for that deal to show up...and it worked generally as described by bhauge above.

However, on the last two TV Club accounts that I had approved.....about a week ago, I did not have AOS....and also no free shipping deal for buying 3 DVDs. I think that deal now is no longer the opening deal we are getting in the TV club...though of course it could come back at any time.

I have updated the first post of this thread to indicate that the HDL code has apparently been canceled. I just tried to use it over the phone (after two online applications went AWOL) and they said that it was no longer valid. I went ahead and joined with the standard deal, because I need Babylon 5 Season 3 and Dick Van Dyke Season 2. Even at Deep Discount DVD with their 20% off, they are still $59.99 and $40.95, respectively. That makes $100.94 for the two of them, while the Columbia house deal works out to $89.75 AND you get 4 more DVDs of your choice. Of course, that doesn't include shipping, but I plan to wait for free shipping and then order my fulfillments.

So if you want the expensive sets like Babylon 5, it's still not a bad deal, but not nearly as good as it was with the HDL code.
