Because with this code..you only have to buy ONE more. the 6 @ 49 you have to buy 2 more I believe to fufill the commitment. I think? |

I would add up the costs of a minimum order:
$12.89 intro package $19.95 x 2 = $39.90 for 2 fulfillments $4.98 x 2 = $9.96 shipping Total = $62.75 Average for 11 DVDs = $5.70 Then figure what each order cost over the minimum: 1st order $42.44 - $ 24.93(minimum cost) = $17.51 So cost of Stargate Sg-1 = $5.70 + 17.51 = $23.21 2nd order $28.94 - $24.93 = $4.01 Cost of BttF = $5.70 + $4.01 = $9.71 |

Now I just need to keep myself from signing up again. Is the free shipping deal that happened pretty much a one time thing? Too bad I missed out. |
Free shipping is usually offered about 3-4 times a year.
|
I didn't know that...looks like I'll be waiting a couple months before I close 2 of my accounts...

Star Trek Generations Special 1 selection $0.49 Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered 1 selection $0.49 Star Trek: The Motion Picture 1 selection $0.49 Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home 1 selection $0.49 Star Trek III: The Search for 1 selection $0.49 Star Trek V: The Final Frontie 1 selection $0.49 Star Trek: First Contact Speci 1 selection $9.95 Order Total: $12.89 Stargate Sg-1: Season 7 33491 Pending $32.46 Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Deluxe Edition 42507 Pending $0.00 Total $42.44 Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan the Director's Edition 27417 Pending $0.00 Back to the Future: The Complete Trilogy 27573 Pending $20.96 Total $28.94 Total=84.27 First, a standard 7:2 account, such as you have, would break down with minimum fulfillments like this: Enrollment: 6 x 49¢ + $9.95 = $12.89 (7 DVDs) Fulfillment: 2 x $19.95 + $4.98 (shipping) - $5 (web discount) = $39.88 (2 DVDs) Total cost: $12.89 + $39.88 = $52.77 (9 DVDs) Average DVD cost: $52.77/9 = $5.8633 Your fulfillments included two sets and two DVD editions that aren't available for enrollment. Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan: DE could have been purchased as a fulfillment for $19.95, so it can be had for $5.86 like an enrollment. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: DE seems to be priced at $24.95, $5 more than the $19.95 minimum, so I would value it at $5.86 + $5 = $10.86. The Back to the Future set could be purchased as a fulfillment for $20.96 (on your account; it is less on mine), a $1.01 excess cost over $19.95, so I would value it at $5.86 + $1.01 = $6.87. The rest of the excess membership cost I would apply to the Stargate SG-1: Season 7 set. The valuations would work out like this: Enrollment: 6 x 49¢ + $9.95 = $12.89 (7 DVDs) Fulfillment: $42.44 + $28.94 = $71.38 (2 DVDs + 2 sets) Total cost: $12.89 + $71.38 = $84.27 (9 DVDs + 2 sets) Relative cost of the Stargate set: $84.27 - ((7 x $5.86) + $5.86 (WoK) + $10.86 (CatCF) + $6.87 (BttF)) = $84.27 - $64.61 = $19.66 (Stargate) Kind of a complicated way of looking at it but that's because your fulfillment order was complex. My 2¢. |
if you aready have a tv on dvd account where do you add promotional codes at?
|
Same as in regular DVD club. Under the DVD tab on the main page there is a link saying "Looking for the offer in your mailing?". When you click on that link a box will pop up where you can put in any current valid offer codes. See this thread - http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=423563 - for the ones currently available.
|
Got another 7:2 code in an e-mail: C7YD.
$5.86 average DVD cost, no PSN required. Don't know about whether it has a credit card option, but I presume that the terms are the same as the other C7* codes, which do allow a credit card when enrolling. |

I just called with C7L and C7W, but they said that both are invalid.
This was after 3 web attempts that I just now received the rejection letters for. This is annoying, but I have hope. I think I read somewhere that it depends on the csr? Should I just go with lmt, or just keep trying the number again? I called 1-800-692-1000. Any other numbers I can try? |
Ah, sweet. I just called in with lmt (which appears to be the same thing as the other two codes) and I got it to go through! I'm really excited. I assume since the code took, then the approval should be smooth sailing. Hopefully. Thanks to the other guy who mentioned that on the previous page.
|
^ What did the rejection letters say?
The new accounts phone number for regular DVD club applications is 888-242-3837 (888-CHC-DVDS). And, yes, LMT is the same offer as the C7* codes, as mentioned in the first post in this thread. |
No one has encountered a K7L style, 5:2 / 6:1 code that will take a CC up front, right?
|
I applied yesterday (website: columbiahouse.com) with the LMT code. While checking out, I was asked for the PSN. I had one from a previous account. So that was not a problem.
But I was NOT asked for credit card information (I thought I would be asked that information in the next page). Any chance that this application would get approved? I would have preferred to have given the credit card information up front so as to improve the chances of the application getting approved (and also that way I can check my credit card statement to see if the account got approved). I have not had any problems with Columbia House in the past and I have obeyed all the rules posted out here. Is this application going to get lost? Or is there a chance that it will go through? Thanks. |
^Applications seem to be getting approved much more easily than before. Your chances are good.
There are many codes similar to LMT that DO require a credit card, they are listed in the first post in this thread. Or you could have called in your order; that would have given you a chance to use your credit card. |

Thanks for the response, Lizard. You are right. I should have called it in (like I have done all the previous times). Now I just wait and hope for the best.
|
I did a K7L (no CC) online earlier this week and was approved less than 24 hours later. I wouldn't sweat it.
|
Ok, so like I said, I applied last Tuesday, and now it's Sunday and I've heard nothing. I used LMT on the phone, and everything seem to go well. I still have yet to receive an email or anything. Swing and a miss #6.
|
When I applied over the phone last year, I never received a confirmation email. But the DVDs arrived anyway. So don't write this one off just yet.
|
I think they have pretty much given up on email. The last account i had i never got an email from enrollment to fulfillment. Also when i would try to put in my email address in my account info it would let me add it but then delete it right after i saved. I guess they're just getting lazy. Give it a week and if you don't get a package then you can start worrying about getting rejected.
|
I just wanted to update my earlier post.
I applied online with the LMT code on 03/01 (provided PSN. But no credit card info was required). I got approval email on 03/03. I have not received the shipment yet. But I could log on to my account. The only problem is I am already a Preferred Member (without purchasing the fulfillments). Looks like a few others are having similar problems. I am not sure if I should order my fulfillments right away (or) wait to see if my account status gets corrected. I am atleast happy that my online application got approved (and did not get lost). Thanks for all the help. |
I am having problems with the codes. I successfully opened an account in January, but this time when I keep entering codes, I am just getting the 5 for 49c offer with another at $14.95.
I've even cleared out my cookies. Anything special I need to do? |
Just got a code from BMG. It is EBP and it's the standard 7:2
|
I just applied with C7L yesterday, its the first time they've asked for my CC when enrolling, and this morning an authorization for 12.89 is showing up on my bank statement-- am I accepted already?

I just tried K7L on the phone and they said that code doesn't work. Has it worked recently on the phone?
