I just tried LMT and it worked fine (didn't purchase anything...just entered the code).

This might not be your problem, but ITALIAN926 reported in another thread that one can only use one code at a time on the blue site. Any additional codes one tries do not change the offer. To try another code close the browser window and open a new one and start over with the .columbiahouse.com website.

The site seems to be working ok. Use Internet Explorer (the website doesn't like other browsers), click on the "join now" button, enter the code in the popup window, check details of the offer, start shopping.

If you enter the code in the window on the main "Join Today" page it doesn't seem to take. You need to enter it in the popup window or in the "Do You Have a Savings Code" box on the enrollment website.

atari2600 07-13-05 01:09 PM

i never get a pop up - that might be why

lizard 07-13-05 02:17 PM

^ Perhaps you have pop ups blocked; if so it would be best to enable columbiahouse pop ups. But using the code box on the enrollment page (under the slots for selections you have chosen) should work also.

If I have a PSN from another account, but that account is under a different name but still of someone else in my household, can I use that same PSN when signing up under my own name so as to get the best deal? Again, both accounts would have the same address, same last name even. Will that work, or will I have to sing up under my own name with the 2nd best deal first to get my own PSN? I can easily use another email too, if that helps.

The old PSN will work fine, and you don't have to use the same email as the old account.

Applied with LMT tonight; however, I didn't see a place to prepay with a credit card - was that option removed?

I don't think LMT ever had an option of paying with a card. The theory was if you've had a previous account [you have a PSN], then CH can trust you with up to 8 movies without any money up front.

SFranke 08-01-05 07:32 PM

I tried P8A to get a new account for my shiny new PO box, and I was told the code is invalid. I didn't know a code could walk to begin with, but there you go.

Well, I thought it was funny. http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=invalid

Anyway, let it be known that P8A doesn't work over the phone.

Copper Blue 08-12-05 08:47 AM

Are there any codes left that offer 2 free, buy 2, and get 3 free afterwards? The ones I knew have all expired (DDL, etc). Those are my favorite codes as I can save the 3 free for new releases that become enrollments in 3 months.

lizard 08-13-05 10:58 AM

^ ddtd, although the terms are garbled when one checks "details", so it may not work right. Prices for those old codes average out to quite a bit more than the current best codes.

The old 2+2+3 codes were:
4cv cxc ddk ddt de4 dec ($7.83 average)

cxb dc9 ddh ddl dds ddv de3 de5 deb ded ($8.18 average)

Perhaps you can get one of them to work correctly.

SuprVgeta 08-16-05 01:33 PM

Are there any codes like 'LMT' which have the option of being billed at checkout? It's nice to be able to check your bank statement online and see if you have a temporary charge or not.

ITALIAN926 08-16-05 09:53 PM

No there isnt.. none found yet anyway. Call up if u want to use a credit card right away.

That's what I'm going to have to do now after the shenanigans I had to go through with my last two LMT accounts. Dang, and I thought I wouldn't have to listen to all the extraneous offers on how I can earn $40 in gasoline etc...

jpdude 08-17-05 07:17 AM

i recently used LMT and was accepted, once i received the "welcome email", i went to my account and added my credit card info...it was painless. :)

Geofferson 09-12-05 03:29 PM

Quick question (I browsed though this thread and didn't see the answer):

Can a PSN from a TV Club membership be used to sign up for the DVD Club membership?

lizard 09-13-05 11:21 AM

^ Yes it can. Any Columbia House membership number can be used as a PSN.

cfloyd3 09-24-05 02:06 PM

Hello, problem here. I tried LMTD and at the part where they ask you if you want another 9.95 title I skipped it so when it is supposed to give me my receipt it just went to some normal page and didn't show it to me. Is LMTD dead or have a problem? I never received any e-mail like reviewing your application right after or anything either. Ugh, really want this application in.

viking99 09-24-05 03:03 PM

I just used LMTD for a phone app on 9/14. DVDs came today. :)

emerald9999 09-26-05 08:40 PM

I've been trying to put in a new web app but no matter what code I use I get a 6+3 purchases required. Anyone else having this problem recently?

Erreth 09-26-05 09:04 PM

Well what codes are you trying? Isn't a 6 with 3 more to buy(take 7th @9.95 making it 2) the best code?

cfloyd3 09-26-05 09:28 PM

Since for some reason online apps refuse to submit, just called by phone to enroll, here's to hoping it goes through. Really wanting the Errol Morris titles.

Geofferson 09-27-05 08:34 AM

I opened an account with LMT last week and got my DVDs in the mail yesterday! Was a web enrollment.

I should have been clearer: The codes all showed up as 6+4, then only needing 3 if you bought the extra one with enrollment.

Just tried LMT on the CH website. Here is what it says:

"It's true. Choose 6 DVDs for $0.49 each, with free shipping! All you need to do is buy 3 DVDs over the next 2 years at $19.95 or more plus shipping and processing, and you may cancel at anytime after doing so. Plus, our DVDs are always available with great deals, so you can purchase items toward your commitment - - and continue to save at the same time when you order DVDs that are on sale!

There's no risk, your introductory package is sent on a 10-day trial basis and includes complete details of membership. If you are not completely satisfied, you may return the package at our expense and we'll cancel your membership and refund your money.

Pretty good, right?

It gets even better.... Take a 6th movie now for $9.95 with free shipping and have only 2 more movies to buy (instead of 3) in the next 2 years. Plus, you can take a 7th movie for the special price of $9.95 with free shipping."

I get that too, which is the standard LMT deal. Not sure what problem you're having emerald9999. Maybe try clearing out any CH cookies and try again.

xboxfanatic 09-29-05 10:44 AM

help!

Sunday night I entered the lmtd code. I still haven't received a confirmation email. Should I try it again, but with lmt? Thanks.

AFAIK all codes ending with D are for phone in only.

Shonn 10-03-05 06:25 PM

Got a "Come back today" code in my email today that is the same as lmt but without the need for a PSN, you can also pay with a CC at checkout. The code is 1kj.

lizard 10-04-05 12:00 AM

The "D" stands for DVD club. Since the mailings use the four character codes it is best to use the D on phone orders but it can also be used with on-line orders. LMT and LMTD are the same code.

I got the same e-mail.

ITALIAN926 10-06-05 10:19 PM

BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR NEW CODE

OK, it looks like the deals are getting even better. I got a mailing today but it seems like it MUST BE mailed in... No call in or online. This will be my first mail-in application.

6 DVD's 49cents FREE Shipping and processing
1 Bonus at $9.95
ONE COMMITMENT instead of 2 !!!!!!!!

esc24 10-06-05 11:37 PM

For more details there is a whole thread about this
http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=440402

The only thing i don't understand is. Is this only open to previous BMG members or is it open to previous Columbia House members?

ITALIAN926 10-06-05 11:43 PM

BMG was not mentioned AT ALL in the mailing I recieved... and the offer I recieved was better than that BMG club one .
6 @ .49 each Free SH.. plus a bonus at $9.95 Free SH (making it 1 fullfillment instead of 2) .. and an option for an 8th at $9.95

dougb222 10-07-05 10:15 AM

It's about time something interesting started to happen around here. Sheesh, it's been quiet!

lizard 10-12-05 12:38 PM

New codes from "we want you back" e-mails: 1kkd, 1kgd

• 6 @ 49¢ plus $9.95 bonus, free shipping ($12.89 total), two to fulfill.
• No PSN required.
• Might require credit card like 1kj mentioned above by Shonn but I have no way to test it without risking placing an order.
