I received my enrollment package last night. My first box set order should be on its way as well.

Until you get a more definitive answer from someone already in, the sets have a regular price of $139.99 and 40% off should make them $83.99.

Looking over the Spring DV2 sale book from my enrollment package, some selections are flagged at 50% off retail but the website still shows 40%. Such as, The Jefferson's First Season is $14.98 in the book but shows $17.97 on the DV2 Website. But, I should also note that only a very small number of titles are at a 50% discount in the book as 40% off is still the norm.

Well, I must have done something wrong. I signed up using the HDD (2 for $9.99 free ship, 1 commit) code throught the regular blur site and did get accepted.

Now the link they gave me in the welcome email just brings me to the regular CH site. It does show that I have only one commitment, but box sets are the same price as always + $6.99 shipping.

On top of that, the HDD code doesn't work anymore either, probably wasn't really meant to. I guess I'll have to contact them to get this fixed, or just send the package back.

Any ideas?

On my account under Purchase Requirements it says - You have completed your purchase requirements for the account corresponding to the account number above. You now enjoy our best benefits as a Preferred Member.
All I've ordered so far is 1 DVD for $5.99 - Barb Wire.
Just thought I'd let you know cheap ones do count!

Yes, as I mentioned earlier, use the account number and your zip code to log into the www.dv2.com site instead and you will get the correct offer details.

I did try that actually, but no luck.

I sent them off an email yesterday morning and by the time I got home from work, they had replied and had fixed the problem, not bad!

Works fine now, eyeing up the Critic series for $29.99 and the Schindler's List Collectors box set for only $20.99.

Now, for the 20 million dollar question, will they let you quit and rejoin like the regular club? With the 2 disc for $9.95 and any priced dvd to fullfill and no shipping, it can be a pretty good deal.

Well, got my enrollment pack today (Time Bandits SE and Lawrence of Arabia Superbit.) Should get my Critic set any day now as well.

I wonder if they will still offer the 40% discount and free shipping during the Funcash period coming up soon?

I joined using the free trial yesterday, got my acceptance email today and had the same problem you did, even when going to DV2 to log in as well.

I don't want to clear cookies at work, so I sent them an email as well. Hope that takes care of the problem. I just want to order Civil War and Baseball and quit.

This will save me (assuming it works) $44 over ddd (well, actually it got me Sports Night free).

Thanks to all for your experiences/insight.

I received my 30 day free trial enrollment package yesterday (Rush Hour 2) and placed an order for 3 box sets at 40% off with free shipping. I never received an acceptance letter, so I did not expect to receive anything.

If you cancel after you sign up do you have to return the free dvd?

Also, does dv2 count as one of your memberships per househould?

Thanks

In this club Friends:Season 7 is $26.99. You can see it here. (Whether that price or this club is a good deal I couldn't say, since I haven't tried it.)

Thanks for the reply.
With f r e e d v d s. c o m They give you 300 points for signing up for this offer.
I am still deciding if I should do it or not. Friends was the only box set I want right now.
I am still not sure if it's a good deal either.

free DVD player & DVD with DV2 club!

I stumbled across the Columbia House DV2 site via a link from Amazon.Com for a FREE dvd player. The link takes you to Fastreward.Com which lets you choose a "deal" to sign up for. DV2 is one of the options. Under this plan, you pay a yearly fee of ~$9.95 and get a free DVD with free shipping. You agree to buy one more DVD at 40% off and can cancel any time after your purchase. Once you sign up with DV2 and fulfill your one purchase obligation, DV2 will contact Fastreward.Com and after 60 days you mail them a request for the free DVD player. I'm sure the player is nothing spectacular, but it would make a great gift for someone who doesn't have one yet - provided you can wait ~ 3 months to get it!!

Also, the DVDs that you can choose from for your free offer is limited to:
The Matrix Reloaded, Bruce Almighty, Seabiscuit, Bad Boys II, Anger Management, The Lord of the Rings: the Two Towers, The Lord of the Rings: the Fellowship of the Ring, X2 X-Men United, Daddy Day Care, Old School Unrated and Out of Control!, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, The Matrix, Freddy vs Jason Platinum Series, Shrek (single disc edition)(full), Gladiator (single disc edition), Out of Time, Ice Age, Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde, Barbershop, Dirty Dancing Ultimate Edition, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle (unrated), The Hulk, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas, Kangaroo Jack, Barney's Beach Party, Blade II, Bend it Like Beckham, 2 Fast 2 Furious, Braveheart, The Ring, Black Hawk Down, Catch Me if You Can, Drumline, Forrest Gump, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Meet the Parents, Spider-Man, The Wizard of Oz, The Fast and The Furious, Ghost Ship, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, Ocean's Eleven, The Goonies, Titanic, Final Destination 2 Infinifilm, Goodfellas, Maid in Manhattan, Saving Private Ryan(WS), The Green Mile

I just signed up and will see how it goes....

I've signed up twice for this new club. Once, when I first heard of it and then again when I heard of the 30 day free trial. (I'm an early adopter/guinea pig type.)

Anyway, I've been accepted to both already and receieved my account number. However, I can't seem to access the dv2.com site. The link from the email takes me to the regular CH site and all I see are regular prices.

Anyone know what's up? Are they just real slow in putting there's up? Am I not doing something that I should be doing? Should I be patient? I'd like to fulfill these accounts quickly, though!

In an earlier post someone else had this problem but they reported that it had been fixed. Not in my experience. Just thought someone might have some insight.

swordfish:

I think the easiest way is to just go to www.dv2.com and click on the "member login " button at the top. Your user name is your account # and your password is your zip code.

Works every time for me.

Btw, dv2 really makes sense if there's any among the limited signup titles that you want, and any 12.95 or 14.95 (or even 19.95) titles for your first purchase. I got Citizen Kane when I signed up and The Hobbit as my fulfillment. I intend to cancel before 30 days and rejoin, as there are a few more worth getting on the signup page.

Citizen Kane = free
The Hobbit = ~$8.00 (with tax)

equals about $4 apiece, and one of them is a Warner 2-disc SE. I like that!

Any possibility we can get an official FAQ put together concerning this deal/site?

It would be nice to know exactly how to take advantage of this, given that it's new.

[edit]
Also, has anyone investigated getting the Star Trek: The Next Generation sets via this deal?

CH doesn't seem to carry the X-Files seasons.. dunno why, but I'd love to pick those up cheap.

Nope. Funcash at DV2 works just like the regular club. No sale prices or discounts of any kind. You subtract your funcash from the full retail price of the DVD and then add shipping (and possibly sales tax) to the total. I spent $20 in funcash on a $19.95 DVD and was still charged $3.21.
