Best CH Canada Code?

So what's the best code to use for CH Canada?

Thanks for the help and recommendations.

stebop 09-23-03 11:34 PM

YYN. It's been working since- forever!

big_willy 09-24-03 10:37 AM

What exactly does YYN give you??

stebop 10-07-03 12:00 AM

sorry.. i didn't see your post early enough- until right now when i had to do a search on 'canada.'

amyway.. it's

5@ 49c, 1.99 shipping
1 extra at 19.99 with 2 more to buy later.

edit: You could of checked it out for yourself, you know!

big_willy 10-07-03 08:53 PM

thanks stebop,

yeah, I did check it myself after I posted the question asking.

smegger2000 12-12-03 12:41 PM

A3Z

5@ 49c, 1.99 shipping each
1 extra at 16.95 with 2 more to buy later. (Instead of $19.95)

I think you need a previous account number.

abercrombieboy 04-18-04 02:08 PM

Both requires PSNs - I guess I am stuck with using their standard offer?

Try A64. Same as YYN but no PSN's needed.

abercrombieboy 04-18-04 08:09 PM

Thank you, I will try it right now.

stebop 04-21-04 07:58 AM

whoohoo.. thanks for the new code!

my old account's just been fulfilled. i'm just waiting to get my dvd before i call in to cancel it.

stebop 08-13-04 08:35 AM

HOLY CRAP!!!!

well i just called in to pay for my new enrollment.

after i gave her my cc number... and told her to just charge future purchases to the card, she tells me... 'we have a special today sir- just for phone orders'..

i go.. 'what's the special.." (obviously with a suspicious tone)

she goes.. we have both harry potter 3 and shrek 2 on sale for just 22.99 AND IT COUNTS TOWARDS FULFILLMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (i had to confirm it twice)..

How freaking shweet is that?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

so yeah.. that'll take care of my fulfillment needs for that account.. time to open a new one again soon!!! :D

edit: checked the website.. they're both sold for 25.95 as preorder price..

Aborro 08-16-04 03:40 AM

Looks like CH Canada is now sending out new renewal offers for their "preferred" customers:

5 DVDs @ $0.49 each
1 more @ $16.95 with 2 left to buy
All with FREE shipping!

You need a Preferred Status Number (PSN) so it's best to wait for your offer in the mail before rejoining. Definitely hard to refuse an offer like this!

-smile-

stebop 08-16-04 04:27 AM

^it's same as A3Z!!

Aborro 08-17-04 01:06 AM

Nope. With A3Z you still have to pay $1.99 shipping per DVD. With this offer, shipping is FREE.

-smile-

stebop 08-17-04 03:32 AM

holy.. didn't realize that!!!

man.. i HAVE to watch out for my mailing then!!!!

so ther was no code writen on the mailing anywhere?

ViewAskewbian 08-17-04 06:12 PM

How in the hell do you get in contact with these guys anymore? I have been trying to get information via email from them to rejoin the club forever! More so, calling the Canadian number (which I had to search online for) tells you that you need a Membership number to talk to customer service. Argh!!!!!

stebop 08-17-04 08:08 PM

uh.. automated?

(416) 299-9400

^ call that number instead. it goes straight to their operator. and ten just ask to be transfered to customer service.

you gotta pay long distance if you're outside toronto. but calls mostly lasts for under a minute anyay.

plus best way to join is online.. unless ofcourse you want titles outide the top 200.

Yeah, that's why and thanks for the number.

stebop 08-17-04 10:08 PM

yeah. no problem.. they're open between 8.30 to 5 pm est

krammer 08-18-04 11:38 AM

Hello, newbie here.

I have question about the top 200 selection(s) as mentioned by stebop. How often does CH Canada change their top 200?

Right now their standard offer is;

5@ $0.49
6th @ $19.95 optional
7th @ $14.95 optional
$0.99 shipping per title
3 left to buy if you take the 6th

stebop 08-18-04 09:44 PM

they have new titles every tuesdays.

so the last 5 gets bumped out. and get replaced by 5 new titles.. (approximately)

anyway..

use a64 as code if it's gonna be your 1st account.

only 3 fulfillments. 2 after taking 6th selection.

krammer 08-18-04 11:58 PM

Thanks for the feedback stebop.

I have had 1 previous account which I fullfilled, then canceled.

I then got a call from them asking to rejoin with the free shippin' offer & I just fullfilled that second account recently but did not cancel the account yet.

I just enrolled online for my 2nd open account with CH as I didn't know until recently checking out this site, you can have 2 accounts open with them to the same address. Anyway.. I used the A64 code for the second account. Now I'm shaking my head, asking myself.. what was the point of using that code?.. instead of joining them with standard enrollment?

If I'm not mistaken, isn't the above offer (the standard) better than A64, or do you need this code to rejoin with CH Canada?

Please bare with me. ; )

Hey Krammer,

The current standard offer of $0.99 shipping per DVD is not better. Although you are saving $6.00 on the shipping, you still have to purchase 3 more titles to fulfill your account. With code A64 (No PSN required, anyone can use), you still pay the standard shipping of $1.99 per DVD, but you are only required to purchase 2 more titles to complete your membership.

Let's do the math...

With the current standard offer you still have to buy that 3rd DVD which would cost you a minimum of $17.64 ($19.95 regular club price + $3.69 regular shipping - $6.00 in saved shipping costs). With A64 you're done after two and can put that $17.64 towards the next membership!

DOH! Forgot to mention that. The code on my mailing was 195 and requires a PSN. Whether any PSN other than the one received with the mailing will work remains to be seen...

-wink-

krammer 08-19-04 04:57 AM

Aborro,

I guess its time for me to go back to school. ; ) Yes, you're 100% right about the A64 code savings.

Now, will I get that offer I wonder? It is the first code I've used & I already have an open account..

LOL...No problem. I think you'll be fine since you're allowed two accounts open at a time.

"FREE shipping code"

195? is that the code you were refering to in "The Best CH Canada Code" thread?

Ok, sorry to be a newbie, but I would like to know for future reference where you give your PSN # to: Mailing card? Online? Phone? For instance, I fulfill my 3rd account with CH in about 3 months, want to cancel then rejoin Online... what's to stop me from re-joining CH without the PSN.. Examples?

Thanks again!

Yes, that's the code. You enter your PSN online after you click on the check out button. Alternatively, if you received a mailing from CH, you can simply write the selection numbers for the titles you want on the form and mail it to CH.

There's nothing to stop you from rejoining CH (other than too many accounts at one time) without a PSN. Code A64 does not require a PSN and is currently the best code to use if you don't have a Preferred Status Number. In fact, the standard "we want you back" offer that CH sends out after you have cancelled a membership is A64.

There are better codes like A3Z (6th enrollment title is $16.95 instead of $19.95), but they require a PSN to use.

krammer 08-20-04 02:56 AM

Again, many thanks Aborro. :)

stebop 08-20-04 04:56 AM

Regular Club prices currently start as low as $19.95, plus regular shipping and handling and applicable sales taxes.

WHAAAA!!! Holy!! you should of posted it 2 days earlier!!!

Man!!! we're getting better and better savings code!!!

krammer 08-20-04 11:44 AM

I did see the free shipping on enrollment on their site today. I didn't see the prices for the advanced bonus offer you mentioned.

Still $19.95 for the 6th & $14.95 for the 7th. Unless there is a code I don't know of.

krammer 08-20-04 11:55 AM

A3Z

Nevermind.

krammer 08-20-04 06:10 PM

Just checked A3Z;

Yes the 6th is $16.95
Yes the 7th is $12.95
No free shipping, still $1.99/title

stebop 08-20-04 07:43 PM

^Code is "195 "

i checked it. it works.

krammer 08-20-04 10:59 PM

$3.46 per title, if you take 6 with that code. Hope it stays awhile! :)

stebop 08-20-04 11:11 PM

uh... that's not how we average dvd prices here....

krammer 08-21-04 01:45 AM

uh... $8.92 per title after fulfillment, if that makes you feel better. :)

raining_helper 08-21-04 02:13 AM

for the beneift of all other canucks (and to summarize everything said in this thread so far), here is a quick breakdown of the two best deals:

if you have a PSN, use savings code 195:
6 dvd enrollment offer with FREE shipping = 20.76
first fullfillment = 19.95 + 3.49 sh + tax = 25.08
second fullfillment = 19.95 + 3.49 sh + tax = 25.08
total club cost = 70.92
per disc average = 8.87

without a PSN, use savings code A64:
6 dvd enrollment offer with 1.99 shipping per disc = 36.74
first fullfillment = 19.95 + 3.49 sh + tax = 25.08
second fullfillment = 19.95 + 3.49 sh + tax = 25.08
total club cost = 86.90
per disc average = 10.86

stebop 08-21-04 03:02 AM

1.) how did you compute your taxes?

becase 19.95 + 3,49 + 14% tax = 26.72 (unless your alberta, then lucky @$$ you)

2.) 19.95 titles are usually crap. so realistically, you're spending atleast 24 bucks for a decent fulfillment title.

krammer 08-21-04 09:04 AM

Bc's breakdown;

Psn & 195

1) 1st 5 dvds - $.49 + 7% tax - $.52 X 5 = $2.60
2) 6th dvd - $16.95 + 7% tax = $18.14
3) 7th dvd - $19.95 + 7% tax + $3.69 ship = $25.29
4) 8th dvd - $19.95 + 7% tax + $3.69 ship = $25.29

5) Total price = $71.32
6) Average per/dvd = $8.92

A64

1) $.49 + $1.99 + $.17
2) $.49 + $1.99 + $.17
3) $.49 + $1.99 + $.17
4) $.49 + $1.99 + $.17
5) $.49 + $1.99 + $.17
6) $16.95 + $1.99 + $1.33
7th)$19.95 + $3.69 + $1.65
8th)$19.95 + $3.69 + $1.65

Total price = $84.11
Average per/dvd = $10.51

You only get charged GST and PST if you live in Ontario. Everywhere else is 7% GST only.
