My local BL on BF had the sign up for the TV season sets sale on their rack of regular dvds - and no new TV season sets anywhere in the store!! Either they're still in their backroom (which means when they finally put them out they're not going to be on sale) or they never got any.

There was *one* season of Arrested Development here. No signs or other seasons of any of the shows mentioned so far. They could be in the back... but it's unlikely. The two BF racks they had out came out last Monday (according to staff I asked) and yesterday looked exactly the same as when I first saw them last Wednesday. Nothing had apparently been sold out of them. I was going to ask about the other TV seasons but they were rather busy at the time so I didn't bother.

Yep, Big Lots was extremely disorganized this year. I have 2 stores I visit with some level of frequency. The one further away put up a BF display weeks before BF. It had the $8 TV seasons and lots of things priced at $1.88/$2.88. My closest store (same town) put out the $8 TV seasons and a few $2.88 things (not nearly as many) a week or so before. I kept checking back including right around the holiday assuming much more would be added. Nothing ever was. I was back at the first location last Saturday and while they had much more available at one point, they didn't add anything either. If you just went by the ad, you would have been disappointed in both locations.

I'll second Cardsfan111's observations. One out of the way store that doesn't see much business actually put out their Black Friday waterfall displays right before Thanksgiving. The other location put them out like three weeks before Black Friday. There didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the inventory, the Black Friday media items were a mixture of stuff.

Strangely enough I found 2 DVDs to buy at Big Lots earlier today:
The Ridley/Tony Scott miniseries Coma for $3
Guillermo Del Toro's Don't Be Afraid of the Dark for $3
Haven't seen anything worth buying there in quite awhile, so was surprised to find these.

I saw the Del Toro & the subject matter didn't seem to be "me", so I passed though I've enjoyed him in the past. Was that a major mistake?

^ I saw "army of beady-eyed sharp-clawed monsters" in association with the name Del Toro and for $3 I took a chance. Went to Amazon when I got home and read some of the reviews, it gets an average of 4 out of 5 stars, I think it's a keeper.
I didn't get a slipcover with Coma either, didn't realize I didn't get one until I saw it mentioned.......John.......

Too bad Big Lots doesn't offer wireless to their customers like most other stores do, it would've been nice to check those movies out before I bought them. Doesn't mean I wouldn't have bought these anyway, but it might have saved me from having to take others back once I got home and found out people thought they sucked. I don't need crap in my collection.

Pearl St Super Store got a big batch of both blu & dvd. Unfortunately, even with a $5 off $15 that expires today, I could only find one $3 dvd (Transience with Johhny Depp which I had never heard of; but Depp rarely lays an egg).... One irritation: A couple weeks ago, I bought the Easy Of Eden blu ray with book from Family Video for $8.99. It finally shipped today. I could have got it (without the book) for $5 today at BL - the discount (If there had been $8 i truly wanted, I likely would have found the rest.

Are you referring to Transcendence? I've never seen it, but recognized it as a Depp film.
I stopped by my local store after receiving a $5 reward today. Very pleased to pick this up for just $3.

"The Love God?" was the only adult/mature film Knotts did.
The court speech by the prosecution directed to Knotts' character...
By the way, what kind of case is that?
The court speech by the prosecution directed to Knotts' character...
Look into his eyes, they're the eyes of a man obesssed by sex. Eyes that mock our sacred institutions. Bedroom eyes they call them in a bygone day. They're the eyes of a man who's lust know no bounds, who lives, but for corrupting others to a life of carnal pleasures and lewd designs. A man who's erotic desires and flippant practices are used to titillate the unsuspecting. And would stoop to any depth to satisfy his pornographic tastes. The Marquis de Sade would regard him as a peer.

Transcendence ended up being quite good, especially for $3.
