I saw that same assortment (except with Heroes S2 & 3 instead on S1) in Southern California, at the Sepulveda store off the 110 and the PCH store between Western & Crenshaw. LOTS of copies of Numbers S4, Heroes and House at Sepulveda. For anyone interested, the PCH store has a lot of these in a new display, to the right of the rest of the DVDs, mixed in with some other bargains. That store also got more of:

Battle Of Great Britain (2 Disc Collectors Edition)

And for the first time there I saw,

Cleopatra (75th Anniversary Edition) x2
A Bridge Too Far (2 Disc Collectors Edition) x1

Appreciate the info. I rarely get to 72nd unless I know they actually have something!

As of today, Pearl has leftovers, & as of yesterday Bridgeport also had just leftovers & a TON of Dirty Sanchez at $1. Both Pearl & Bridgeport get truck on Friday, but with xmas they are both running days behind. Unless something's changed, I believe 72nd was getting truck on Tuesday.

I saw the same crazy overstock of Dirty Sanchez at the Seekonk, Mass. store, must've been like 30 or 40 copies all piled onto the bottom two shelves. I can't believe they priced them at $10 !!! Was it just about a year or so ago when they were bundled with two other titles with the grand total for all three at $3 ? Oh, and the top shelf of that same rack had about 30 or more copies of ESPN 2006 Year in Review. Makes you wonder sometimes doesn't it ???

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Seekonk, Mass. had the tv seasons out already. Pretty much the same that has been mentioned at other locations...

Nurse Jackie season 1
Dirt season 2
Boy Meets World season 1
Heroes seasons 2 and 3
Rawhide season 2 volume 1 (I HATE when they split a season)
My Three Sons (another split season I can't remember)
Trauma season 1

No House, or Numbers, or Sgt. Bilko. They also had a few movie titles I hadn't seen before...

Cleopatra (1934) 75th Anniversary Edition $5
I Love Lucy: The Movie $5
Virtuality $3

I don't get there often either, it's too much out of the way, though not as far as Pearl or Bridgeport, and over the years I've come to consider it the "weakest" BL for DVDs in the south sound. I live in a BL triangle (Puyallup, Federal Way, Kent) that I tend to visit on a more regular basis. Just happened to be going by...glad to share.

$10 was a typo. Should have read "$1".

Maybe there's some who don't know, so it never hurts to be reminded:

The second and third season of THE FUGITIVE have excessive music replacement issues. MY THREE SONS as well and some eps of GOMER PYLE. Speaking of PYLE, that listing above for S3 V1? GOMER wasn't split seasons, was it?

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

It's a bit annoying that some Big Lots stores don't pay any attention to their ads and just put stuff out, whenever...having worked at book stores for years, it's just...weird. You could get in a ton of trouble putting out a book/movie/cd out before it's release date. Granted, this stuff isn't as important, but still, I'd hate to be a manager that had someone come in first thing Sunday morning, looking for those $10 tv shows, only to find out they sold most or all of them the week before.
Plus, stores that have put them out already will almost purposely hide them! The Riverdale GA store had CSI NY S4 on the 4 sided display in plain view, but I had to sit on the floor and move dvds away to get at the $10 sets on the bottom row. Only reason I saw them was the clear type cases most of the non box set tv shows come in, were viable when I walked in the door. Why would you do that?
I Saw Lucy Show, S1, S2, S3
Beverly Hillbillies, S2,
Sabrina S3,
Streets of San Francisco S1 V1 (oh, if only I could find S2 V2, that didn't seem to get into many BL stores last year!)

2 Phil Silvers Show sets(grabbed one) also, found a White Christmas DVD that wasn't there a week ago...
Another pet peeve I have with the stores(and not the only store guilty of this) put the Christmas movies in the front of the rows, or group them all together! (the cardboard displays seem to be long gone at most stores) Not like there will be any interest in CHristmas movies come January!
I pull them out of their hiding places, and put them in the front, if only so customers can see them...sigh...too many years in retail..but still, I want Big Lots to sell as many dvds as possible, so they keep buying them. Would take employees 1 minute a day to keep them in order...

Off the soapbox. 2 stores that are obeying the rules, Newnan, and Fayetteville.

Went to Union City store, and looked like they had already sold quiet a few of what they got in...did see some shows I've not only not seen mentioned here, I haven't even heard of them!
Reaper: Season One
Reaper: Season Two (a friend told me she loved the show, clearly I am not watching enough UPN! )
Wildfire - Season One (ABC family show I think it said)
Nurse Betty S1 (ok I have heard of it, and it was mentioned above)
Boy Meets World S1
According to Jim season.....1
Gomer Pyle S3
Dave's World - The First Season
Jericho S2
and other things I can't remember...oh,
Dead Zone S1

Seemed like most of these shows were not Paramount, but Lions Gate(Don't think Paramount owns them, do they???)

Same here. Hit 6 stores yesterday, and at least 3 were using the bottom row stocking method. My mom swears it's a strategy to make you look at all the DVDs in stock in the hopes you'll buy some of the old junk.
One store had the $10 sets on a little standup cardboard display when you walked in the door, but it was 70% empty. I asked the clerk if that was all of them, and she said it was. Uh-huh. Found the rest of them laying flat with no titles showing on top of the DVDs in the middle rows of the 4-sided rack. I was so ticked off that I restocked the near-empty cardboard display for the benefit of the next person who would come in looking for them.

Fairless Hills, Bustleton, Franklin Mills, Bristol (PA) and Beverly (NJ) all seemed to have gotten the same assortment (is there more than one?) with Star Trek Time Travel, Star Trek Klingons, Sgt. Bilko, Lucy Show, Hotel, Secret Diary, etc., but I never saw a single My Three Sons or Fugitive until I hit the Trenton store.

Every store had so many copies of Heroes S1 that I predict it will become the new Joey.

Yes, but this is old stuff that does not have street dates. They can put it out as as soon as they receive them.

There's a difference between the 2. 1 of those is good.

Re: Big Lots Part 10 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Could someone confirm this... all of these $10 TV seasons people keep mentioning in the above posts were all $6 on Black Friday (and Black Friday weekend)?

If yes, did they have $10 tags on BF and just rang up at $6, or did BL remove the $6 tags and put new $10 tags? If no, then I'm thinking maybe BL chose not to send any $6 sets to my area for BF and just sent the titles the following week already stickered at the higher $10 price. In other words, I'm trying to figure out if corporate BL purposefully screwed my area out of $6 BF sets.

I wish I'd seen this sooner. I'd completely forgotten about the music issue when I picked up Fugitive 2.1 yesterday. After a quick search, it looks like the replacement disc offer with the majority of the music corrected was only available until Sept '09 - and instead of then selling sets with the newer more complete discs as you might expect, CBS/Paramount continued to sell the original botched synth-heavy sets. Why go through the trouble of corrected discs for such a limited offer? Apparently there was also a Fugitive boxset with all 4 seasons to be released in November. A few of these sets leaked out before a recall for unknown reasons - with no new date for whatever "corrected" set may come out...

I'd probably just return the set & wait this out some more, but I used my $10 coupon which took $3.33 off each purchase instead of $10 off 1 item. (I also bought Bilko & Cannon 1.1 - & I don't feel that great about the Cannon purchase either because I've read it has a pretty lousy picture & I seem to remember some people finding it for $3 a while ago.)

For anyone still reading my whining, I noticed that The Women (1939) seems to be back in full force for $3 after a bit of a break (only this time it's a snapper).

Check the first post in this thread for the majority of Black Friday titles. Completely different assortment. (You can also look at the first post in the Part 9 thread to see last year's sets.)

The TV seasons that went on sale on Thanksgiving were stickered $6. Some of them are still on the shelf with the $6 tags on them. Stock arrives at the store already stickered, I believe. There's no stickering or restickering going on at the stores. The $10 sets are all new stock. At least in my area there weren't even any titles in common between the $6 sets and the $10 sets.

Glenn, took your advice and went there this afternoon and let me tell you my friend, the pickings were very, very slim...all they had from what i could remember was Heroes S1, Jericho S2, Dave's World S1, a few titles never heard of before season 1 and that was about it. Just pitiful, if you ask me.

My thought is that it's probably pretty much the same assortment, with I'm guessing, some small differences. I'm pretty sure that I've never seen Lucy Show, Jericho, Dave's World, or Hotel (?), and I don't think I've seen Heroes S1. I've seen a ton of Heroes S2 and S3 though.

As barbybrant said, they're different. I think that there have been 4 different groups/waves of TV shows in a fairly short time. And of course when the stores put them out could vary,

-The original $6 BF stock (90210, JAG, McGyver, 7th Heaven, Charmed, etc.)
-A refresher of more of that $6 BF stock
-The $10 Reaper, Wildfire, According to Jim, Diary of a Call Girl shipment
-This latest $10 one with House, Lucy Show, Heroes, Numbers, Rawhide, etc.

I have seen a store place a red Clearance sticker on certain titles (like $3-$4 [I forget which] on some of those Nick sets still left from last year), but not any of these TV shows from this year.
