Have no idea which Amazon thread that is without a link.

I am a bit disappointed in what is being offered this year at Amazon. I hope that add stuff during the week like gift sets of Ben Hur , Ten Commandments Citizen Kane and Looney Tunes in blu. Only must buy for me so far is Season 4 of Mad Men.
The non gift set of Ten Commandments will be offered. Hopefully at a fantastic price. Without prime it will be difficult to get to $25 to avoid shipping charges this year.

I'm guessing that he's talking about the Blu-Ray thread.

http://forum.dvdtalk.com/blu-ray-bar...ad-27-a-5.html

They linked to Amazon awhile after I did, but there seems to be more conversation.

I'm wondering if that's the appropriate thread for those of us who have little interest in discussing Blu-Ray?

Doesn't look like it's been released yet. Maybe later today or this weekend.

I'm also in the no Blu-Ray crowd, at least at this time. I have no plan to buy a BR player until i can afford a true audiophile model, which from reading I've done will probably be in the $1k - $2k range at minimum.

I agree, if someone would like to start an Amazon BF thread for DVD only, i would read it regularly.

Absolutely nothing for me on the music link, but thanks for posting!

I bought myself an Oppo BD player for around $500 and couldn't be more pleased. The video quality is outstanding and I can play my SACDs and DVD-As. Oppos are the best deal around on quality players.

The NuForce modded Oppo 93 ($900-$1500) depending on options & the stock Oppo 95 ($1k) are on my short list.

The budget just isn't there right now which really bites!

I watch Blu Ray's on my Playstation 3 and while the picture is marginally better than my upconverting DVD player, it's not worth the extra cost of the Blu-Rays in my opinion. I probably watch 3 DVDs for every Blu Ray I watch. My TV is a two year old 46" Sony Bravia, a reasonably nice TV.

Anyway, back to the thread, I'll be picking up Weeds, Season 6 and maybe Season 4 of Mad Men. Maybe another TV season or two.

I watch a fair amount of TV on DVD and lately I've just been checking them out from my local library. What they don't have they can get from the system, at no cost to me (other than property taxes). I've watched Grey's Anatomy Seasons 1-6, Tombstone 1-3, Six Feet Under 1-5 (6?), and the Dexter series will be next.

Wow, I didn't see one DVD on that entire Calendar that I either don't already have or aren't interested in...

I'll keep my eye on my Shopping Cart though, where I have about 30 DVDs saved for later, hopefully Amazon will have a few of those on sale for Black Friday. -kd5-

^Same here. There were a few titles in which I had a bit of interest (Gilmore Girls and the new Harry Potter) and went back to make a list only to find those days missing. I thought I overlooked them at first until I took a closer look. Maybe they're "playing nice" until later for the B/M vendors.

Entourage S1-7 are now $12.99 @ Amazon

These seem to show up every year around Black Friday, and sometimes for less, but if anyone wants to lock in the price:

Re: Black Friday 2011 - The DVD thread

I would loooove to be able to get all seasons of Boy Meets World at Best Buy, but the weird thing is that none of my local stores have had the DVDs even on their release dates. So who's to say they'd actually have them all of a sudden on Black Friday?

Amazon keeps adding stuff as time wears on, I see Deathly Hallows, Part 2 now, no price as of yet, I'll have to keep an eye on that as well as all the other stuff in my cart, saved for later. -kd5-

Anyone know if How I Met Your Mother Season 6 will be on sale anywhere? Usually Target has it in their ad but I didn’t see it this year.

I am guessing if no place as it Black Friday weekend, then some place(s) will definitely have it between then and Christmas. I am like you and waiting for it to be on sale.
