Re: Hamilton Books

Question for Goldenwheels: I am ordering about 9 titles from the April catalog. Can I add more from the site to fill up the 19 title space on the order form ? Or should the two not be mixed ? TIA, Man

I'd like to ask you what the stock is like on the Kino silent movies and whether you will be getting anymore in? Would love to consolidate my order to save on shipping, but not if the quantities are limited. Thanks.
Did they end up remastering the Spaghetti Westerns set? None of the movies in my set are anamorphic.

Damn, you're right. I meant to say just widescreen, not ANAMORPHIC widescreen. Sorry about that. But still the only way to see many of the titles letterboxed even if they aren't 16x9.

There's absolutely no problem adding web titles to your paper order--please do!

Re: Hamilton Books

Thanks for the update, GW!

I notice that there is another title from Image's "The Blood Collection," BRAIN OF BLOOD, the last and certainly least of the 'series.' This is another one that has been reissued by Alpha, but can anyone tell me if the Alpha versions of the BLOOD films are pressed and if they include all of the extras that the original Image releases had?

Re: Hamilton Books

watch out for that three pack '2724189 Hound of Baskervilles/Private Life of Sherlock Holmes/Without a Clue $9.95'. 'Without a Clue' is FS 1.33:1....title should apply to that MGM moron that approved its pressing. I have the set and have cursed MGM for it, have to pony up for the Olive BD to wash the bad taste off

take a look at the backover image on Amazon:

This kind of thing is the bane of my existence larkin...for some reason some of the studios still seem to be pressing (or have LOTS of stock on) double/triple features which for some reason feature one or all titles as 1.33 versions.

I still sell VHS for heaven's sake--but even I avoid full screen DVDs when I can!

apologize for raining on the parade, GW but really, there's no excuse in today's day and age to press FS. These are definitely older stock that the studios seem to think they can pass off to unsuspecting customers that are more taken by the prospect of having a multipack with related titles. I myself am an avid Sherlock fan and have been over the years, building up quite a collection and was very excited to get this title. Having said that, thoroughly enjoyed the film itself. But thought I needed to pass this info on for prospective customers. again, I apologize for affecting sales

NO apologies necessary larkin...I want people to get a product they actually want and not be disappointed! Keep in mind, my normal catalog customer is probably the type who sees the value of a multipack as being > than everything on it being OAR (the amount of Mill Creek we move tells me this, my goodness) but here online, if you perhaps kept someone from ordering who would have been disappointed and asked for a refund...well a refund is an even bigger loss for me than no sale--plus that's an unhappy customer!

The only reason the multiple aspects aren't listed on the site is because our "feature code" field is an "either or" field....it can be WS, or FS, or it can be BS (which indicates a single title is in both formats on the disc) but we have no setting for multiple formats within the same pack on different titles. Sometimes one of our copywriters (a pretty good film geek) throws it in the copy itself but it's such a rare thing, we don't handle it consistently.

You guys have been great here, never apologize about any points or criticisms you may have! The ones I can do something about, I will try. The ones I can't, I will try to let you guys know why it is.

Re: Hamilton Books

^Wow! That's a *super* price on Branded! I paid ~$15 several years back at SAM's and thought it was a bargain! It's *still* unopened - should have waited, eh?

That's also a very good price for The Guns of Will Sonnett. While billed as "Complete Seasons 1 & 2" there were only 2 seasons produced - 50 episodes total. If the package is correct it's missing only a single episode, which is curious as TMG also had a "Complete Series" release a few years back (I have that one). Now I'm curious if that "Complete Series" has all 50 episodes or not (yeah... it's still unopened) or matches the "Complete Seasons 1 & 2" set since most Timeless combo releases are repackage affairs.

Just a friendly alert for those who may not be aware: the releases for BRANDED and SONNETT are syndicated, edited prints. And unfortunately the edits must have been done years before such processes were streamlined by the syndicator as they are pretty much awful on these sets. Important scenes are missing, essential dialog is clipped, transitions between scenes are often truncated to the point of being nonsensical.

BUT... Currently there is no other way to see either of these shows and unless someone somewhere decides to stream them at some point in time, I would say this is as good as we're going to get for two relatively forgotten TV series. I enjoyed watching them again on DVD, but it was disappointing to experience them in such a mangled fashion.

Re: Hamilton Books

Well whaddaya know. I actually bought a book. The Titan hardcover THE ART OF MAD MAX: Fury Road appears to be sold out at most retailers w/ prices jacked up to the hundreds by 3rd party resellers. And I know HB ships w/ those sturdy boxes. So I ordered this: http://www.hamiltonbook.com/the-art-...-max-fury-road

Looks like Titan's FURY ROAD art book is much more sought after than their PROMETHEUS art book.

Re: Hamilton Books

Thanks Deadpan, I've been slacking! I'll try to get back on this.

We finally decided to join this century and start a facebook page, which has been taking up a bit of my time--I didn't even have a personal facebook until now so I had/have a lot to learn.

https://www.facebook.com/EdwardRHamiltonBookseller/

Maybe we can use it to promote some of the challenges here? I'll have to ask John Sinnott if that will be ok.

^Just *don't* forget us non-Facebook using folks!

I despise the site (and business model) so much I refuse to get even a fake account. I also issue "take down" notices if any of my family/aquaintences post images of me on the site (read their TOS and you may understand). When facebook is involved I become very much a luddite!

Re: Hamilton Books

CULT CAMP CLASSICS, VOL. 1: Sci-Fi Thrillers
$6.95, slash in UPC covered by white sticker, haven't opened to see if it went into Queen of Outer Space cover yet

THE DEATHMASTER / TEENAGE EXORCIST: The Robert Quarry Collection $1.95
price lowered $2 AFTER I ORDERED IT, of course
interlaced and artifacty, Retromedia probably sucks (my first Retromedia dvd), but I like these two

TWISTED TERROR COLLECTION still $9.95
6 dvds in 6 big fat dvd cases, Ken Weiderhorn's eyes of a stranger is an unexpected treat (Return of the Living Dead II is one of my favorite movies)

both Steckler MIDNIGHT MOVIES COLLECTION (4 dvds each) from Media Blasters are $5.95

and this TGG UFO collection is only $2.95 featuring old ufo "documentaries" such as Overlords of the UFO
4 SL dvds with 3+ hours on each, source quality pretty bad but totally watchable and not very artifacty

Re: Hamilton Books

I actually placed an order a couple weeks ago, and got it in the last week. Thanks!

4621018 Locked In $5.95
It was the Canadian version so it didn't have the Digital Code, but otoh the cheapest I've seen the US version is $12.96, so that more than made up for it (and I would have sold the code anyway).

4620704 Dr. Cabbie $5.95
I was happy to see this, as I've never seen it released anywhere, until I saw you list this Canadian version.

Re: Hamilton Books

I'm enthused about this Blu-ray find, just ordered:

LONG WEEKEND (Synapse, 2015) only $9.95! Great price for an overlooked gem. FWIW, Tarantino praises the hell out of this uniquely creepy Aussie flick in the documentary NOT QUITE HOLLYWOOD: https://youtu.be/r7xx1OSXQ0o

Some really cheap Synapse DVDs too starting at $1.95: http://www.hamiltonbook.com/products...t=40&q=synapse

$7.95 Code Reds
Pit Stop BD
Dead Pit DVD
Redeemer: Son of Satan DVD
