Hate to admit it, but I was unimpressed as well. How exactly is it a beloved children's classic? It demonstrates the worst of childhood, not the best.

I think it has more appeal to those of us of a certain age. I was shown the movie multiple times in grade school growing up. It's the memories the film evokes that I enjoy more than the film itself.
