Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

Watching Thirtysomething is REALLY gonna make me feel old since I'll be *40* in a few months and probably haven't done much of what the people in that show did!

Metropolis for a dollar?! That's one of my favorite movies... ever. I highly suggest you buy it.

No, they only play on a PSP, PlayStation Portable.

I hope one of my stores eventually gets these in. I've been to four different stores around me this weekend an not a single one had any in stock. I would love to beef up my UMD movie collection.

30 Minute Meals with Rachael Ray
Dixie Chicks – Shut Up & Sing
Jeff Corwin Experience – Season 1
Kidnapped – The Complete Series

I picked up The Forgotten/Gattaca double feature for $3 at Big Lots, but I ended up returning it because Gattaca was full screen. For $1 though, I might buy it if I find it. I really hope I can find Kidnapped though.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

I picked up:

'til Death: The Complete First Season
Moscow Heat
My One and Only
The Man Who Loved Women (Burt Reynolds)

I saw the Forgotten/Gattaca double feature, but I've already got both of those films.

I would have bought more, but that was all they had--VERY slim pickings at my store.

EDIT: I forgot that they had at least two different Storm Hawks collections, but I had no idea what those were, so I passed 'em up.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

Figured I'd check my local store and see what was there. Found 50 copies (didn't count, but I bet that's close) of Dog Whisperer, some with 3 episodes and some with 5. That was about it.

That's all my closest one had as well. Since those haven't sold, I'm wondering if they will get any more DVD titles until those sell. The other one near me did get anything new either.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

Thursday 8/23 I grabbed:
  • the "Bewitched" 2-pack with the Kidman film & the bonus disc with the colourized versions of the first three eps of the original TV series (they had several).
  • the remake of "Brian's Song" w/Sean Maher (they only had one).

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

I went back again today and picked up a few more titles. Since I passed on Storm Hawks last time, I decided to give it a go this time. After comparing the two different titles that my store had ("Heroes of the Sky" and "Tales from the Atmos"), I discovered that "Heroes of the Sky" is a double-DVD set that combines "Hawks Rise Again" and "Tales from the Atmos." So naturally I just grabbed the "Heroes of the Sky" set.

I also picked up Stander, a film with Tom (Thomas) Jane; The Prince and the Pauper with those Sprouse kids; and Finishing the Game. I wasn't excited about any of these DVDs, but at only $1 each...what the hell.

I struck out today. One of the stores that had $1 DVDs in the past didn't have any today. Will try a different one tomorrow.

I picked up Stander and Finishing the Game at a Dollar Tree a few months back. I thought Stander was pretty good. Didn't care for Finishing the Game.

Thanks for the info on the Storm Hawks sets.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

went to 3 different DT's yesterday. No DVDs. but did pick up this:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...=nosim/dvdtalk

14 inches high, hardback graphic novel. Looked impressive, but don't know if it's any good.

I'd be interested in knowing where the posters live who got the newest batch. Last time the DVD batch was DOTW and everybody got them, but I wonder if this is limited stock that only select stores will get.
