Hard to pass up steelbooks for a dollar. Picked up The Proposition, Strays, In Hell and Hard Cash...
Anyone see the Stallone Eye See You steelbook? |
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Picked up just a few more...
Alive Day Memories: Home From Iraq Fancy Dancing Stan Lee's MMM White Coats |
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Went to my local Dollar Tree last night. Not a DVD in sight, but I did get a set of 6 Eggies (as seen on TV) for a dollar! I bought a Jupiter Jack there a few months ago for a dollar too. They must get the unsold TV crap before it goes to the landfill.
Update: the Eggies are going in the Goodwill box. |

Anyone see the Stallone Eye See You steelbook? It's hard to pass up stuff for a buck. I tend to go crazy and regret half the purchases, but there are some gems mixed in. |
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Grabbed the In Hell dvd steelbook
|
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Ironically there was a time when dealers would snatch up all the steelbooks & other deluxe packaging. Not any more; both ebay & Amazon have a $3.00 shipping cap. Postage keeps going up........... get my drift?

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
They have popped up here.
Picked up "Dirty War", I've seen it at Big Lots some time back. A good deal for a dollar. |
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
I don't think these have been reported yet:
Border Lost/Freedom Strike/Mafioso Half Light Inside Out (w/Kate Walsh) Push/Bone Dry/Insurgents Showdown

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
I went to several stores and they have them, but they don't seem to have any of the better titles. Mostly, I see a Robert Pattison documentary, Meet Bill, Stan Lee Doc., Swept away and few others.
|
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
I picked up a few of these at a couple of stores. The one I went to today had them all in that wire bin right as you enter the door. I was surprised to see it overflowing. I actually straightened it out a little, filling holes and making everything point spine up. I found Crash & Burn, which was the title I was most hoping to find. I also picked up the steelbooks for Immortal and Hard Cash. My first ever steelbooks. I don't get the appeal.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Just picked up Trust, Rampart and Trespass from my local Dollar Tree.

But after reading the instructions, I'm probably not even going to try these things even once. Way to much work for a reward that I'm not even sure is a reward. Is peeling shells off hard boiled eggs really that difficult? The only possible benefit I see is being able to add shredded cheese and bacon bits to them ahead of time, but they'd probably just all clump either on the bottom or in the middle with the yolk. Direct to Good Will sounds like a good plan. I did pick up season one of Huff or some such the other day. |

They actually worked as advertised, but like you said there was a lot of work to greasing them beforehand and cleaning them afterwards and it took twice as long to cook a soft-boiled egg as it normally does. The hard-boiled ones came out really nicely though. The 30 seconds it takes to peel an egg is trivial in comparison to the prepping and cleaning effort. I also tried one in the microwave just for the heck of it and it was disgusting looking, so I threw it out. |

Anybody ever think about starting a thread on funny stories about ASONTV products? I really wouldn't have anything to add to it, but it would probably make for an entertaining topic.

I can find Trespass (cage, Kidman) and Rampart on netflix. Not Trust.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Found a copy of Swept Away at my local store last night:) Maybe Madonna's acting will be worth the $1.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
It seems like none of the Dollar Trees I visit ever have any DVDs. It's been a good years since I've seen some in a store here in Ohio.
I kind of want to see Swept Away, because a) I actually like Guy Ritchie and b) if it can live up (or down, depending) to its awful reputation. |

IMHO, the best Guy Ritchie films are 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels', 'Snatch' and, to a lesser extent, Revolver... Of course, I'm not counting the two SH movies which were very good also... |

For the longest time I did not know mine had a spot for them. When I saw the post on this site about the blu rays (ernest, etc...) I checked again and it was hidden behind a post in the automotive section. I check it sporadically. Usually nothing too great, but I've found a few good things.
Good week to go hunting for them with Best Buy Upgrade and Save starting on Sunday! |
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
I was wondering if there have been any new dvd sightings at Dollar Tree as of late. They seem to come in spurts and we are due for another sometime soon.
|
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Nothing as of yet...
|
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
My $ Tree is full of Meet Bill and that DVD about Robert Pattison fans. There are a ton of those. I wonder if the Best Buy down the street has seen a bunch of those traded in.
|
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
LOL. I am sure they have as well as pawn shops and other places that take trades.
I have not seen any dvds at all at $ Trees around here.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
You have to continually check on here to see if anyone is posting currently in the dollar tree thread because they ship an assortment sporadically maybe every 5 months or so. They are placed in the front of the store when they come in and are eventually placed in the electronics section or other parts of the store depending on the store location. I even saw them in the stationery section once.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Saw about 5-6 new titles at 99 cents only including:
Kill the poor John Wayne Story: The Early Years Surfer Dude Picked up the 1st 2. Already had Surfer Dude on BD for 2 bucks from another place. |
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
I'm not sure if this was a new shipment or old stock that they just put out, but I saw some of the Mill Creek blu-rays today. All I know is that they weren't there last week.
|
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Hit 2 local $ Trees today. Nothing at one, almost nothing (4 pieces?) at the other.
|
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
I found some Mill Creek DVDs today. Some was stuff that I'd seen in previous shipments, some I hadn't. I was sort of disappointed to see An Innocent Man, since I didn't find the blu-ray. I also saw some double features, some 4 film collections, some animated stuff (Dungeons and Dragons, He-Man), some TV stuff (Wanted Dead or Alive season 1 vol 1).
I picked up: 21 Jump Street season 3 Wiseguy Season 1 vol 1 The Roy Rogers Collection |
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
I've been to both Dollar Trees in my area, neither ever has ANY DVDs!
|
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Same here----nothing!
|
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
I don't know if anyone is interested in comic books, but I picked up Marvel's Omega the Unknown hardcover today. It's the entire limited series from a few years ago. I haven't read it, but I remember hearing that it was pretty good and a buck for a $30 hardcover seems like a great deal. I saw 3-4 copies, so hopefully that means it won't be hard to find.
|
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
More mill creek showing up. Blu- Terminal Velocity, DOA, & Marrying Man. Also 21 Jump Street Season 4 and a lot of TV Best of
