^ Saw Beetlejuice a few days ago and it's not the 20th Anniversary Edition (which contains the cartoons if I'm not mistaken).

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

I picked up today for $3:

Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome - they had both the snapper case (no slash) and the regular case (w/ slash). Needless to say it was a tough decision on which one to go with. I chose the regular case w/ slash.

Caddyshack
The Whole Nine Yards
The Whole Ten Yards

And a bit of an interesting story:

The lady a couple of people ahead of me in line was complaining about the UPC on one of the DVD's she was purchasing being slashed so the cashier had to call the manager who gave her 10% off the DVD.

The overflow of the Tilt/Playmakers bundles is in the electronics section.

That display had two copies of Twilight Zone when it hit the floor... I debated grabbing both copies and putting one in the exchange thread. Glad I left it now... It found a DVDTalker home.

what about amadeus? if it is the 2 disc special edition with the longer extended cut, then it would be worth the double dip for me. I have never seen the extended cut but I have heard that it really fleshes out the story

for those looking for whole nine/whole ten and dont find it at big lots, it was also released in a a low priced warner double feature, which I own already. also, analyze this/analyze that, warner released in that same line.

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

I visited the Woodbridge, VA store today. Last winter they had a decent selection of $3 DVDs.

Not today. They only have one of those four-sided wire racks. They had none of the more recent things people are reporting.

I copied that extensive list from the ad that someone pasted into this thread a couple of days ago. I cut the list down by removing things I already have and things I'm not interested in. I still had a list of about 150 potential titles that I would at least like to examine to see if they might be something I want.

Bottom line - they had about ten titles from that list, and I decided to pass on all of them. In fact, I think I have seen all of them a while earlier. Nothing - really nothing - worth bothering with at this time. I don't know if they have any back room stock but - like I said - you might want to wait awhile before making a special trip.

Finally found the 2 disc Strangers On A Train after checking out 4 local BL's. Also picked up a back up copy of one of my favorite Friedkin films...Cruising.

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

I got a question. I saw a few versions of the Bronx is Burning. One was the World Championship Limited Edition but I couldn't tell if it had 5-discs or was just disc 3 to 5. Is the World Championship Edition the 5-disc version and if so why doesn't it have an ISBN?

No clue on the ISBN thing, but the World Championship Edition I picked up this weekend was the 5 disc set.

Would love to see Playmakers at my store. They had tons of the ESPN 3 Packs, but none with Playmakers.

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

^It's been posted twice, with yours making three. I started with the text list and a link, and the link got posted again a dozen or so posts later. BUT... since many people lack the skills to read back a few posts I'm sure someone will find it welcome!

So... another visit and *still no new $3 DVDs* from the list!!!

Would someone *PLEASE* buy all the crappy sports 3 packs taking up all the room here?!?

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

Big Shipment of double and triple features in a display. All were priced @ $6. I did see a Sidney Poitier box set and a John Wayne 3 DVD bundle...She Wore a Yellow Ribbon, Chisom, forget the other.... also $6. I did pick up the Village/children of the damned double feature and ghost ship/Dreamcatcher double feature. There were two western box sets volume 1 and 2 each had four classic movies. The other mentionable is the TMNT four disc featuring all four movies...$6.
Classic Western Round-Up, Vol. 1 (The Texas Rangers / Canyon Passage / Kansas Raiders / The Lawless Breed)
Classic Western Round-Up, Vol. 2 (The Texans / California / The Cimarron Kid / The Man from the Alamo)

The "World Championship" edition of Bronx Is Burning has 5 discs and comes in a digipak-type case. The regular version is 3 discs comes in a regular DVD case. I noticed there was no UPC on the 5-disc set, I bet it had a cardboard slipcover with no damn shrinkwrap over it that got tossed by the distributor.

Re: Big Lots Part 8 - List your FINDS here (NO trades)

I just (finally) found the 4-disc SUPERMAN THE MOVIE. Not only does it have extras like the 9 Paramount cartoons, but it even includes the campy SUPERMAN AND THE MOLE MEN (1951), the original Lippert feature that would be incorporated later as a 2-part TV SUPERMAN.

I finally found 3 the Bluray. The store had about 15 copies of the bluray. What was weird the 1 pack had 3 with 2 other nascar dvds and the other 3 pack had the bluray with 1 nascar dvd and Sugar Ray/ Ali workout dvd. I got Cruising and Set it Off Directors Cut. Also Chaos Theory but I didnt want to pay $5 for it.

Saw a bunch of new double movie sets (not sure if 2 discs or double sided) but they were $6 each.

Arthur/Arthur 2
Bataan/Back to Bataan
Swordfish/Terminator 3
Timecop/(some other JCVD title)

several more

anybody seen "Casablanca" in this last reset?

Yeah hang on to it. It's a pretty damn intense police procedural.

It was shocking when it was released and hasn't lost any of it's potency. Great soundtack too.
Just make sure you know what you're getting into when you watch it.

Found the "Bonnie & Clyde" and "Natural Born Killers" special editions, but they were $5, not $3. Is that the same for others?
