Hollywoodvideo.com is selling PV / used titles for $3.75 AFTER using the 25PV code. It also includes free shipping. I picked up the following:

Most of them were in near perfect condition, though almost all had sticker residue. I just used Duck's Adhesive Remover and they were good as new.

A word of warning. If you get a title that was in those picture cardboard keepsake cases, they will be clipped and placed in a standard black clamshell case. If you don't mind, you're gold!

Their used titles have been $3.99 each, 3 for $10, 5 for $15 and 8 for $20 for a while. Seems like $2.50 each (8/20) is a better deal than 25% off $3.00. Am I missing something here, or is the 3-for 5-for 8-for pricing no longer being offered?

They have two sorts of used titles. The ones you're referring to are clearance-used. The ones in this deal are not clearance. A big difference between the two is the type of titles included. A lot of their newer titles that are heavily overstocked are clearance whereas most of their non-clearance used were "library" titles in their stores.

Hmmm... I've made 15 orders and recently had a run of bad luck. Trying to return is a chore as they take days, or weeks, to respond to emails. At first I only had two out of 50 that needed to be returned but that's up to 7 out of 65. Worse yet, I managed to get a label and send two back. The delivery confirmation proved it was received and they claim not to have it / haven't refunded me.

And I also went ahead and got:

my first order of dvds (and blu rays) arrived today, a week after I placed the order. ALL of the dvds were in excellent condition. UNFORTUNATELY, one was the wrong movie: "The Pit and the Pendulum". I ordered the one from the 90's starring Lance Henriksen and instead got the one starring Vincent Price.

I was disappointed, but since I've never seen this version and it was cheap I'll let the mistake pass. But the rest of my orders better be the correct titles or else!!! lol

Hell, I ordered that same disc five days ago. If I don't get the Stuart Gordon film I'm going to be pissed! That'll be my 8th disc out of 70. :/

My four DVDs were absolutely pristine. Will be ordering more.

Well my first order of DVDs went horribly. I ordered 16 movies, and they sent me 11. (Though I was charged for all 16.) Of the 11 they sent, one was the wrong title, two were single disc editions instead of double discs (though they were clearly marked as such on the invoice I printed out after ordering), and two were floaters that were covered in dust and scratched to hell. I've e-mailed them.

They do this a lot. If my experience is any indication, they'll split up the remainder into as many as five more shipments and as few as one.

ALL were/are in pretty good condition, except they had the long thing that keeps people from opening the dvd case. It took me forever to open them. I was affraid to scratch the discs lol

I ordered 63 DVDs for this sale.

Two days later there was a full charge on my credit card for the order (236.00).

The next day I received a letter stating that they were sorry that they had to cancel my order due to one of the items being on back order.

When I go to check on my order online, then it states cancelled, but there is a tracking number.

Today I receive that package in the mail. Inside are 33 of the 63 DVDs ordered. I'm surprised because some of them are brand new. The package matches the invoice inside, almost, there are 2 titles missing.

However, I was still charged full price for the order.

3.75 is a great price, but this whole thing is a clusterf*ck.

Yeah, I'm still missing 8 films and have 7 that are wrong that need to be returned. I was charged full for everything even though one claims to have been canceled.

It took about a week and half to get a return label, and it was received by them a few days later on the 6th. It's now the 17th and no refund. However, I sent a second return five days ago and they claim I'll be getting a refund in a few days. My third and forth return emails have had no responses in at least 5 to 9 days.

I feel your pain. Like izatright, I received MOST of my order (31 out of 35 DVDs), but was charged, like you, for the whole amount right before I was told that my order had been canceled. I then got in 8 of the discs I had ordered, three of them brand new. After several email attempts on my part (none answered), I received another 23 DVDs, and that's the end of the story. I really should try to get the missing $19.96 back, but every time that I try to access the site now, Firefox puts up a screen that says that the site is not to be trusted due to security certificates or some such rot.

I'd love to put in another (MUCH smaller order), but maybe the security certificate snafu is a sign for me to cut my losses and stay far, far away from HollywoodVideo.com.

If I had a phone number for a live person, I'd vent my frustration BIG TIME.

edit: Got my order today, out of 5, 1 is wrong. Only 2 DVDs are in good condition. Where should i contact them?

I learned not to place big orders. If you place smaller orders usually it comes quicker and more accurately. The first time I ordered around 40 discs and only got half of the order. I am still waiting on a refund for the rest.

But a quick Google search shows it's their # so it probably will work..Probably the same number (if there is one) posted on hollywoodvideo.com if you have a problem..

Oh ho! Good point. If ANYONE uses it, let me know. I hate using phones if I don't have to. It's one of my pet peeves.

As for refunds, I finally got my first! $3.75. One disc down, refunds for 5 to go!
