Good to know. Shrink is an excellent program as long as there are no new copyguards present.

Re: Warner Archive sales

I ordered ten discs on this sale using the SAVINGS code to bring the price down to $80 for 10 movies. I got my shipping notice today stating that I was charged $100 for the ten movies. Looks like they have disregarded the SAVINGS code promo for this sale.

They honored the SAVINGS deal for me ,I know this because it's already on my CC.

I picked up 9 titles for $89.90 before tax, The Window,Destination Murder,The Tattooed Stranger,Experiment Alcatraz,Bodyguard,Johnny Eager,Twenty Plus Two,....I also added The Two Mrs. Carrolls and Confidential Agent (which for some reason were not part of the deal?).
They charged me $96.74,that includes Tax.

What bothers me about them is, I never receive emails telling me that they shipped my stuff?

Re: Warner Archive sales

I tried to place an order but gave up. I could get 5 for $50 with free shipping, but adding 5 more made the prices revert to regular member price ($17.95) with 10% discount. Going over $100 to use the SAVINGS code made all of them revert to the reg. $19.95 price (although the $20 off was applied).

I was hoping to do what I did during the last sale and get 10 movies for around $90 (after tax). Instead, the best I could get was about $2 more per disc.

Finally decided that it just wasn't worth it & logged out. It seems that during the last sale, I would add titles which would then disappear from the cart & have to be re-added, etc. I'd have to back up & then reapply codes, etc. It just wasn't worth it in the long run to pay $11 per burned disc.

One of the problems with Warners' current shopping cart system is that when you log in under "your" account and attempt to apply a coupon, it's virtually impossible to "unapply" it. I tried to use the SAVINGS coupon on top of the 5 for 50, but once I got above $100 face value (the sixth title), all the prices reverted to $19.95 a title (minus the $20 discount). If I removed titles from the cart, I could get exactly 5 for 50, but whenever I tried to add a sixth title, the price shot back up again.

In past sales, I could use several coupon codes (some kindly supplied by others posting here) and experiment as to exactly how to get the best bang for my buck by removing and reapplying them, but I can't do that now. I realize they say that these offers are not valid with other discounts and coupons, but in the past they hadn't tweaked their system to prevent it, and sometime during this sale they did (possibly when they realized how people were compounding discounts).

Fortunately, I have three separate Warner accounts on three separate email addresses, so after I gave up on trying to make the SAVINGS coupon work, I used another account to buy the titles I wanted.

I wish I'd thought of that. It's possible that because you had titles that weren't eligible for the discount along with those that were that the shopping cart allowed you to do that. It's something to keep in mind for next time there's a deal floating around.

Don't worry about that e-mail....I got the same e-mail without the $20 taken off, so I called WBshop and checked and they did charge the correct amount of $80 + tax.

Exactly and it is very possible that the quantities in that mail be different from your account in the web.

Re: Warner Archive sales

It's important to jump on these deals as soon as they go live. When I ordered after 5 titles, the 6th through 10th titles went into the cart at $10 each. I was then able to apply the $20 off coupon. I got shipping notice yesterday for my order. I have often seen that stacked discounts and coupons will work when the deal first goes live only to stop working later on. As I said in a previous post Warners usually doesn't allow you to take money off items that are already discounted. You were able to do this at first during this sale( and many others) but then Warners stops the coupons from working with the discount. You get ether/or but not both.

True, but unfortunately for me by the time I found out about the deal and went online here to find out about the SAVINGS code, it was too late.

Wait till next time.

I no longer remember what the exact issue was, but last time I tried to do a WAC order the pricing & cart were so f'd up that I gave up. One of the worst ordering systems on the web imo.

Re: Warner Archive sales

Thanks to SilverScreen & Classic Films for the tips for next time. From the various posts, it was obvious that getting in early got the maximum discounts (when codes could be stacked), and I kinda figured that the SAVINGS code couldn't be "unapplied" once I had logged in. Oddly enough, I never considered using another account (my wife also has one...at least by "proxy"), but I'll know next time.

Congrats to those who got the deals to work. I know it may seem petty to gripe over $2 per disc (the difference the SAVINGS code would have made), but I even $9 seems a bit steep for burned discs that probably have a much more limited shelf life than regular discs.

Same here. The e-mail said $100, but the charge on my card was only $80.

Shorted one title, just like the last time I ordered. Strange. Anyway, will give customer service a call and get that missing title on the way.

I'd like to bit on Herculoids and Leg of SH, but 10% is no incentive to me. Thanks anyway though.

Re: Warner Archive sales

Herculoids, Frankenstein Jr./the Impossibles, Space Kidettes/Young Samson, Jabberjaw, Addams Family, Wheelie and the Chopper Bunch, Goober and the Ghost Chasers, Speed Buggy and the Funky Phantom are all on my list and I'm glad they're finally all available but I'm going to need a really good sale to pick all of those up!

That's pushing $300 as it is.

Re: Warner Archive sales

They also sent out the upgrade codes for previous purchasers of Four Daughters.

The B2G1 sale still isn't that hot, but since I was going to upgrade FD anyway, I saved $3 more by not ordering that just by itself. If the newest releases had been included, I would have order 6 instead of just 3.

Probably won't order again until they have 5/$50 or 10/$100.

Thanks for the heads up, N8 Storm! I also used CARMAGEDDON11 to get "Stars in My Crown." I've been wanting to see it for a long time.

Re: Warner Archive sales

Have not ordered from one of these sales yet.

I was wondering how they do on the packaging/shipping
of orders? DVD-R isn't a deal breaker for me per se.......
but having an order show up with floaters, Etc would be.

I've ordered over 50 of these and have never had a problem with packaging. Deep Discount fulfills the orders (shipped from Itasca, IL) and mine have always arrived well-boxed and padded inside with plenty of paper. No floaters. I don't know what would happen if you ordered just one and it showed up in DD's flimsy plastic tray/envelope, though - I've always ordered when they've had five for $50 or similar promos and have always had at least five DVDs shipped.

Re: Warner Archive sales

I've mentioned this before, but I strongly suggest that the first thing anyone who buys these does is back up the disc to a quality dvdr (Taiyo or Falcon).

Have you experienced problems, Moo? Or is this just a preemptive measure?
