Re: Sam's Club Bargain Thread
I was at Sam's Club earlier today, picking up Seasons 1-6 of Curb Your Enthusiasm for $9.88 each, and in addition to the Batman Anthology already mentioned, they also had the Complete James Dean Collection and Elizabeth Taylor Signature Collection for $15.88 each.
BTW, that's a great price for the Batman Anthology. I think I paid about that much for each of the first three films when they were released as 2-disc SEs.

I wish they had A Sam's Club in Oregon somewhere anywhere.
They're in California and Washington, kind of strange.

From latenightcreepa: "Just went to Sam's earlier today and they had them and some other ones like The O.C. Season 1-4 and etc for $9.99 Each." Also spotted for the price were Curb Your Enthusiasm, Everyone Loves Raymond, Chuck, Pushing Daisies, and Prison Break.

I saw the following two discs specials editions for $6.86 today:
Live Free or Die Hard
Walk the Line
Flyboys
AVP
Street Kings
I think there were a couple more, but I can't remember what they were.

Mine didn't have anything listed here, just a bunch of cheap Dukes of Hazzard. I'm kinda glad, I'm trying to discipline myself not to buy any more dvds.

Re: Sam's Club Bargain Thread
Also saw a copy of the Ultimate Superman set with 14 DVDs for $19.99. Lucky I have a copy but went to the other side of the store and when I came back it was gone!!!! Wonder if it was a corrected copy. Also the Sam's in my location had How the West was Won ultimate edition and I am Legend ultimate edition for the same price. Steve McQueen collection was $15.99.

Re: Sam's Club Bargain Thread
And of course, being SAM's club these are all YMMV. I went yesterday looking for "bargains" and found the same old selection of stuff that's been there the past month or so with prices higher than what I can get online.

Re: Sam's Club Bargain Thread
My Sam's Club had most of the TV series mentioned for $9.88 and the various "Ultimate" Warner editions for $19.87. I only picked up 2 seasons of Friends I was missing from the $6 Big Lots sale... under the assumption Target will be wiped out of the $8.99 sets before I get there on BF. The other TV series I don't know anything about. I already had all of the Dead Zones which Sam's had for $12.87 ea. Fortunately I got my Dead Zones for less than that.
I didn't see the $6.86 DVDs mentioned nor the Hitman/Max Payne BR combo.
I was quite depressed seeing the Superman Ultimate collection for $57 less than I paid or the Batman Motion Picture Anthology for $48 less than I paid 3-4 years ago... back in the days when I was much dumber and bought DVDs on release day instead of exercising patience for deals.
I couldn't justify re-buys to get Ultimate editions of SDs I already have, plus why re-buy SD stuff when I'd rather wait for the BRs to get cheaper.

^^^If you're a Seinfeld fan, you might want to pick up the Curb Your Enthusiasm sets. Similar type of humour but because it's on cable, it's more adult oriented. I didn't start watching until the current season but it prompted me to get the season sets.

Re: Sam's Club Bargain Thread
I made a run to Sam's Club in Linden, NJ today and they had a real deal on a handful of Timeless Media TV Sets! They were just under $17 with the price being, I believe, $16.76, or within a few cents of that. I can specifically remember the following at that price. I even went back before I left to take another look and memorize the titles. I may have forgotten one, but this is most of what was there
All appeared to be 3-Disc Sets.
Brenner
Best of CHECKMATE -- Season 1
Best of CHECKMATE -- Season 2
The Lawless Years -- Season 1
Loretta Young Show -- Season 2
There was also a Red Skelton one.
I checked the Loretta Young Show specifically as I don't recall Season 2 being announced yet, but it was at Sam's Club!

Re: Sam's Club Bargain Thread
My Sam's had the Ultimate Superman Set Tin for $19.88 also.
They only had one copy and it wasn't in any special area.
I broke my long standing "never buy another SD DVD again" rule and picked it up.
$20 for 14 discs of Superman goodness was too much to pass up.

Re: Sam's Club Bargain Thread
Yeah, I wouldn't feel bad at all about breaking that rule in this case....for such a cheap price, you're getting tons of content and films that are not even available on BD yet....it will probably be awhile before all of it (if ever) makes it onto BD.....

Re: Sam's Club Bargain Thread
I was shocked at how good Superman II (Lester version) looked upscaled to 1080p/24 on my Tosh HD-A30.
I passed on the remaster when it came out to wait for an eventual HD release.
