fwiw, i read complaints from some people (prolly here and elsewhere) that some of the first so-called limited edition first pressings came out in a regular digipak instead of in the book. they were even stickered as limited editions. this was prolly just an error.

that said, the season 1 books do exist i tells ya!

That promo pic shows the digipack (on the right) and the slipcase (on the left). There's no box like there is for S2-S4 that opens like a book. If anyone owns one I'd loved to see it.

Cool. I missed out on this one, but at least got the photobook. I'm just really happy I got the photobook for Season 2. I waited till this sale to get it and wasn't sure I would have a chance of getting one still.

These are a great deal. I bought all four seasons (But not at once).

The S3 I ordered from Amazon came in the book packaging. I haven't opened any of them (S1-3) yet, so I can't comment on the contents, but they all had "book" exteriors.

My Target did not have "book" packaging for Season 4, unfortunately. I'm not sure I've seen that version in store here in Florida at any time, either.

went back with my rain checks and they were still out of season 4 but had one copy of S3 in the book packaging...i quickly snagged it and got it home, only to realize upon opening it that it was torn along the bottom inside edge...as in where the corner of the pages would be in a book. kind of bummed, so i'll keep the receipt and see if another comes in I can trade it in for.

If i do get 3 and 4 in the book package i'll be kind of bummed that i bought the S2 without it

They're still regularly priced at $19.99, from what I've seen.

If you belong to BJ's they're on sale for $15 a piece. I saw them there yesterday (wallingford CT store), I would have pounced but I need to save all my cash for the con.

just an fyi: I was able to return my damaged S3 set and get a new one in perfect condition in the book packaging, and they had lots of S3/4 available...but 1 and 2 were not the book. but they were all STILL $19.99 as the regular price...I really can't understand why, but who's complaining? They are still $40-50 everywhere on-line...very bizarre.

I see S4 is down to $22.99 at Amazon.

My local Target (No. Va) finally got a restock of all 4 of the SNL sets with the last three being book versions.
