Looks like I have another kindred spirit on this board besides Trevor. Glad to know ya, snaussie! And great work on the foreign exclusives list. Very thorough and informative! I'll need to check in with your column on a regular basis. Thanks also for the tip on the LOTR steelbook, but I did finally settle on one that was very close to perfect (yet not quite). At a certain point, I just need to give up and move on...

As for midnight Avatar release events, no locations near me (Best Buy or Wal-Mart) are having one so I'm sitting it out. If I knew there was some specific perk to making the trek into NYC I'd put in the effort, but hopefully I'm not missing anything. Maybe I can hit Wal-Mart early tomorrow for the sticker you mention.

Speaking of Wal-Mart, it looks like they have something of an exclusive Iron Man 2 soundtrack release of their own. As they did when Twilight came out last year, they're offering an exclusive single-disc version of the album! "Only at Wal-Mart," as the sticker says -- leaving the buyer to figure out just what makes this particular item unique. In this case, it's just the music CD and not the DVD, in an even flimsier cardboard cover than the 2-disc version. It's selling for $12.00 (with the 2-disc version selling for just $2.00 more, side by side in the same display), so I'm not quite sure who this item is aimed at -- other than Iron Man or AC/DC completists, perhaps.

NYC Union Sq had Phoenix from Frag Dolls (all-female gaming team) from Ubisoft from 10-12pm meeting and challenging folks to James Cameron's Avatar: The Game on Xbox 360.

I was contemplating on going, but way too exhausted.

Get to Walmart early if you want the sticker as it is only the first 50 people. If you can, will you take a picture of it and post to share? I'm curious ... :)

I was in Best Buy yesterday and was looking at the Green Lantern Blu-Ray with Figure. They had one left and it was pretty beat up. I noticed somthing though that caught my eye. The figure was different than the one I have seen before. It is the figure pictured to the far RIGHT that was packaged with the Blu-Ray in the sealed box.

Yeah, I noticed that too and forgot to list it, although we don't really list CDs, this is sort of DVD related due to the included DVD and the movie ticket. I looked at it, assuming there would be at least one unique track to make it special, but no. I would imagine that most people would buy the CD/DVD set since it's only $2 more, but my Walmart had tons of the CD only release.

Another slight update to the continuing Planet Hulk exclusive hunt: In K-Mart yesterday I noticed a copy of the DVD version that had a different UPC sticker. It wasn't the normal glossy printed UPC like all the other copies in the stores, but had a stickered on UPC over the normal UPC spot. Now it was the same UPC # of course, and nothing on the packaging or slipcover indiscating anything special. But in my paranoid (?) mind/senses, it felt slightly heavier than the normal copies. Now, I hadn't previously heard anything about a K-mart exclusive on this, but iirc, they have had exclusives on Marvel comic DVD releases in the past. I bought it, but will probably return it unless someone comes up with something to entrap me on it. You have 90 days.
