I just finished watching "Sweet Bird of Youth" starring Paul Newman and Geraldine Page. A great movie the old fashioned way.
An absolute bargain for only $3 at Biglots. I hope the studios keep dumping their classic films...

I'm also kinda pissed that WB is clearing out practically every series they own EXCEPT Veronica Mars and Supernatural! Although, I guess since those were good shows, people actually bought them and they arent stuck with massive overstock

Westheimer near the beltway.
Went to 4 other Houston locations this morning.
North Shepherd had a lot of both Roots sets, Night Court S1, Joey S1, the NFL Super Bowl sets, Pinky and Animaniacs (both #2), Wonder Woman season sets, Dukes, and other shows that I can't remember
45 North had nothing
Katy had nothing
North Highway 6 still had about 6 of the Smallville Blu-ray S7, a few Thundercats S1V2 and S2V2. they were not on the usual DVD rack. there was a small 4x4 that had these sets on a fourth of the display near the registers.

Last I checked (last Monday), the NasaRd1 store, Galena Park store(1964) & the one on N45 near Tidwell didn't have any sets showing - didn't even look like that had gotten any.

Has anyone in the San Diego area come across Wonder Woman: The Complete Series or The History of Rock & Roll??? I went searching for these today, but found nothing.
If anyone can help with these titles, I'd be glad to pick up something you're looking for if it's still in stock around these parts.
For those interested, the Mira Mesa Big Lots had tons of Dallas, Friends, Night Court, Scooby Doo Movies, Joey, Dukes of Hazzard and a few others.

Oh! I also stopped by the other Lexington location and they just got in 5 of those flat boxes full of the WB titles. Most of the 2 disc SE's were there... Right Stuff, Wild Bunch, Last Samurai, Gothika, etc. Already have them all but they are now overflowing at that store. Hopefully they'll get sets in the next few days since Eastland had the same display out last weekend.

Re: Big Lots Part 4
I checked out the Big Lots in Alexandria, LA for myself today. Mostly the same titles that have been lingering over the past several weeks. It's a 4-sided rack at this location, and stacked on top are an excessive number of "West Wing" Season 2 boxes. The only other TV series among the rack are the 2-disc "Night Court" Season 1 set buried amongst all the other titles. Saw maybe a third of the 1-disc Special Edition James Bond titles, as well as a few copies of the older "Casino Royale" (1967) release. Saw about 3 or 4 copies of the "Evening with Kevin Smith" 2-discer, saw one copy of the 2-disc "Apollo 13", saw a couple copies of the 2-disc "Romper Stomper", and ultimately picked up the 2-disc "THX 1138".
The clerk said they get a new shipment every Thursday, but wouldn't specify how often they restock the rack during the week. At this store, the public restroom is in the back warehouse area; I was tempted to fake a trip to the restroom just to nose around for the DVD shipment, but we were strapped for time.

Haven't seen a single TV Season set at my biglots yet. Lots of other titles though. I found another Sweet and Lowdown WS/FS but it was a floater.

Yeah, it's a documentary on the Rock the Bells 2004? concert. It mainly deals with the promoter trying to get all the members of the Wu-Tang Clan together for the show. I just finished watching it, and it was actually pretty good (even if you're not a Wu-Tang fan).

Thanks for the info. I had meant to get to the BW8 store earlier this week - probably wouldn't have found anything then(?) - but ran out of time.
Last I checked (last Monday), the NasaRd1 store, Galena Park store(1964) & the one on N45 near Tidwell didn't have any sets showing - didn't even look like that had gotten any.

Glad I didn't bother going to the NasaRd1 and Galena Park stores. The Pearland and Sugar Land stores were the same when I went to them on Friday. No signs of a single set at either store. When I bought the lone Animaniacs V1 at the Kirby store on Friday, the cashier made a comment that she also bought the Animaniacs sets. So I asked her if they had the other volumes. She told me they put up a lot on Thursday, but they sold out right away.
I did buy some $3 dvds at the N45 store: THX 1138, Right Stuff 2 disc, Meet Bill, Quick Change, and Smiley Face.

Re: Big Lots Part 4
I wasn't able to get there until late afternoon yesterday - but it only took me about a minute at the display to realize that your advice to get a cart was spot-on.
All the ones you mentioned were still there, so I was able to nab the lone copies of E.R. S3 and S7 (yay!). I also got the last remaining History of Rock 'n' Roll (which had a floater, so I was concerned, but thankfully it wasn't scratched up), as well as both V1 and V2 of Animaniacs and Pinky, E.R. S2, Friends S5, and The O.C. S2 - all of which had several copies remaining. And I picked up a few $3 ones as well: Ringers, The Philadelphia Story 2-disc, and Mrs. Soffel.
Things were getting out of hand, so I did put back a few, including the sole copies of Graffiti Bridge (hehe), the Sweet and Lowdown flipper, and Woman of the Year (why did I do that?). There were still tons of Scooby-Doo sets there when I left, as well as several each of Night Court S1, Roots: The Next Generations, Dallas (S7 and a couple others, I think), The Dukes of Hazzard S6, Nip/Tuck S4, Joey S1, and West Wing S2.
I was also looking for Six Feet Under S3, which they didn't have - but I told a friend in Elizabethtown about the sale and he was able to find one for me at the store there today. I'd still like to find a copy of the Coal Miner's Daughter 25th Anniversary Edition, but this being Kentucky, I'm guessing those go pretty quickly here.
Oh, and while I was there, a guy looked at my rapidly-filling cart and asked if I had seen any Smallville sets. I thought, Oh, hey, it's another DVD Talker. But no - just a Smallville fan.

I can also get Nip/Tuck Season 4 Blu-Rays but, a word of warning, some of them might have floaters. If you don't mind then I can get those and open them up to re-seat the discs or ship as is.
Some things I picked up today:
Roots: Next Generation
Scooby Doo 5 Movie Pack (There's actually 2 versions of this. One has all keepcases and another have some snapper cases mixed with keepcases)
Scooby Doo 3 Movie Collection
SuperFriends Vol. 2
History of Rock and Roll
Smallville Season 7 Blu-Ray
P.S. I'm also looking for Babel 2-Disc from Wal-mart for $3 if anyone can find that. I've struck out all weekened trying to find it.

I went to a Big Lots I hadn't been to before. I picked up:
Blade: The Series
Nightmares & Dreamscapes
They had 5+ copies of both Nightmares & Dreamscapes and Roots at the Big Lots on Woodruff Rd. in Greenville, SC if anyone lives close by. I picked up the only copy of Blade though. I saw one copy of season one of The Drew Carrey Show. They also had multiple copies of random seasons of ER, Dallas, the Super Bowl sets, History of Rock n' Roll, and season two of The OC. At least 4 copies of each. And if I'm not mistaken I also saw a couple of Animaniacs and Pinky & the Brain sets.
I was also looking for Wonder Woman and Smallville, but no luck.
I also picked up:
The TV Set
Meet Bill
Lady in the Water
Freddy Vs. Jason (2-Disc Special Edition)
All in all it was a pretty good day. Just wish I had found Wonder Woman and Smallville, but eh, I'll check again in a couple of days, maybe I'll get lucky.

No luck on most of the Warner Bros. sets at the Fitchburg, MA Big Lots, but I did notice a few Scooby DVD shrinkwrapped side-by-side (can't remember the titles), the Super Bowl sets, and Wait Until Your Father Gets Home.
Also noticed Shaun of the Dead for $3. I hadn't seen it mentioned outside of a Universal 2-pack, but this Big Lots had it packaged seperately.

Re: Big Lots Part 4
Left behind a lot of WB musicals and classic films, looks like a bunch of Astaire and Rodgers boxsets were taken apart leaving the slim cases for sale, saw most of the tv sets, and ended up taking home Puddle Cruiser and Forty Guns. Both are Fox films so hopefully we'll see more from them in the coming months. Forty Guns is part of a box set and I saw one other western title from that set when I picked these up. Forty Guns was also found in a four sided display tower, haven't seen those in a while.
Didn't find any non-slashed WB titles that I was interested in, perhaps in the future.
I did find a two pack of Babe and Babe: Pig in the City, but the backs of their cases were together so I could see if they were widescreen or full frame. If anybody picked up the two dvd set I'd like to know if they're widescreen or not.

Re: Big Lots Part 4
My first few trips I only found the small versions of Thundercats, the small keepcase volumes. I didn't even know any better, so I bought the first two of those, but later returned them. I went to another Big Lots and saw the big thick Volume 1 of Thundercats, so both are out there. You can either spend $18 or so getting the small individual sets for $6 each or wait and get the entire thing for just $6.
