OR you could be nice to your fellow board members and sell them without price gouging!

...who am i kidding - the guys who take all the stock and throw them on eBay don't give a crap about anyone else.

Here's hoping they sell for $5.97 each.

Re: Big Lots Part 4

The store was actually closing this evening (it was around 8:50 when I visited), so I really didn't see everything. But I did purchase ALL of their animaniacs/pinky&brain stock. About $120 worth. I will be going back tomorrow to get all the Scooby doo movie sets, now that I see they go for $50+ on ebay. With these sets, and the 2 Twilight Zone 9.99 sets bought from J&R over the weekend, I think I may max out my paypal bank deposit this month. Should be over $500 profit, lol.

Re: Big Lots Part 4

Dunno why the harshness towards ebay sellers Surely you guys have bought/resold for profit when purchasing complete series sets perhaps, and re sold your old sets you got during DD big sale or a bogo sale. It's a very common practice. It just happens Big Lots is selling some stuff right now of great value to certain people who don't have a store local who will pay triple the price or more for these sets. This is called "business practice".

Re: Big Lots Part 4

I dont like to wish bad on anyone, but I hope that all those looking to profitteer from the big lots closeouts see the prices drop down to next to nothing on ebay, get stuck with them, and wind up having to sell them to a pawnshop for a buck a piece. this is almost as bad as the people I see on craigslist trying to profitteer on michael jackson albums right after his untimely death. $300 for a copy of thriller, come on

They'll be lucky to make $5 profit each (not accounting for the time, effort and expense if they actually have to travel at all to mail them). There is a reason there are hundreds for sale on there already and have been for weeks.

Hardly worth it when you consider that karma will come a knockin' soon enough!

How about leaving those sets for the people who actually want them instead of being greedy and selling them for your own personal profit?

It is unfair to those who actually want a good deal. Kinda defeats the purpose of a "deal" if people can't find them because someone else buys them up just so they can make a quick buck.

Re: Big Lots Part 4

Hit another Big Lots today and saw a number of Pinky and the Brain, Animaniacs and the Best of the New Scooby Doo Movies. I'm convinced those sets were delivered to stores together since every store that's had any sets, has those 3. Still lots of stuff I'm looking out for...

Re: Big Lots Part 4

talk about profitteering, I had thought those people of craigslist trying to gouge on michael jackson records since his death at $300 for a copy of thriller was crazy, but I just saw a post that really takes the cake, check this out-
http://miami.craigslist.org/pbc/emd/1248040636.html

$1000 for a copy of thriller, now I have seen it all, we should all flood his email box looking for a copy, tell him "wow what a great deal"

If enough people just flag it as prohibited, CL will pull the ad.

Buying up every copy the store has solely to resell them and then bragging to all of us about how much profit you're going to make is a dick move. I don't care how you try to justify it.

Re: Big Lots Part 4

Nope, not a dick move. Multiple threads i've seen with ppl stating "one for me, and plan on selling the other" or something of that nature. Geez, part of bargain hunting is saving $, which making it is within the same threshold.

Yes, it is. Doesn't give you the right to screw other people just because you want to make some quick cash.

How do you think the "buyer/seller" market works? I love a good deal on something as much as the next guy, but this is how the stores themselves make profits. Some people ebay like this for a living, stop being so shallow.

Exactly. Even if he gets $20 for it, eBay still takes it $2-3, then Paypals $2, plus shipping and he is lucky to get $10. If all that is worth $10...perhaps he should try and get a real job?

Edit: Looking at eBay he will be lucky to recoup his costs on many of those. Animaniacs/Pinky goes for $10-13

I agree wholeheartedly, doing "dirt" is bad enough, bragging about it takes it to a whole nother level, like that guy awhile back who bragged agout a dvd somehow "magiclly" getting a lower price sticker on it.

people trying to "ebay" for living should put half as much effort into finding a real job

I'm being shallow? Excuse me, but I'm not the one ripping people off. You can try to make up excuses and suck, but fact is, it's still wrong.

And those ebayers you mentioned, they should probably find a real job.
