Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2
Those MGM multi-film sets don't even say what screen format they are (should be 16x9 of course, but might be 4x3 letterbox or pan & scan). Oddly they have an 800 number on the back for 'help', I should call and bitch about that.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2
Scrubs Complete Collection $65.00. Probably online only. It doesn't show that it is carried in-store.
http://www.walmart.com/ip/14335814 If anyone just wants Season 9, it is only $8.50: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...ndingMethod=rr I think I'm going to create a separate thread for this. Seems like a hot price to me, and most people won't see it in here... |

Thanks!
Was thinking of procuring Ernest triple feature for $5, as they're all widescreen for the first time on DVD. |

Are these individual discs or 3 movies on 1 2-sided disc? The reason I'm asking is because I already have Cadillac Man & Running Scared but need The Couch Trip... thanks!
Cadillac Man is Widescreen and Couch Trip is full screen on one single sided disc. No added features or previews. |
Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2
That Scrubs set is a damn good deal.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2
Yesterday, I found Star Trek: Voyager S1 for $19.96.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2
'4-Film Pack' for $5:
Dead And Gone Boy Eats Girl Return Of The Living Dead 3 Return Of The Living Dead: Necropolis Dead And Gone and Boy Eats Girl are on a flipper disc, I hate flipper discs, one of the sides has a smudge and some spots on it, tried to clean them off but no such luck. I'll play it next movie night, if it plays OK, I'll keep it. I mainly bought it for Return Of The Living Dead 3 but figured the other 3 were a bonus, can't beat $1.25 a movie. 4-Film Pack seemed lame to alphabetize by (I'd never find it) so I sorted and alphabetized it under my keyword: Dead...:p -kd5- |

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2
So it's two or three discs? Silly of me to ask if any are WS?
|
Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2
It's three. Return of the living dead 3 and 4 have separate discs.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2
Saw about 30 different WWE titles for $10 or less. The only titles that were more were the more recent released in the last month.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2
Picked up the original Paul Muni 'Scarface' yesterday in the $7.50 section.
Great movie-solid classic. |
Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2
Saw a big display on an end cap of Universal DVD's for $5 each. All had a Bonus Disc of the upcoming movie Hop attached to it.
Some of the titles were Land Before Time movies, Beethoven movies, Evan Almighty, Peter Pan, Mr. Bean/Johnny English and Little Rascals. A few more that I can't remember. |
Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2
Saw a Brady Bunch movie set for $15. It has the two 90's theatrical movies, the made for TV White House movie and Growing Up Brady.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2
I went to both stores here in the past couple of days. The largest was in the process of doing a "reset" in the DVD area. Very little by way of TVonDVD sets on the shelves. The other still had/has the current set but it may not last. Considering reports indicate most stores get the resets around the same time frame it might be worth picking up anything you've been on the fence about as it might not be there much longer.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2
Went looking for those new Children of the Corn and Prophecy collections tonight (someone had said they found one in another thread at Walmart), instead found a new 4 Pack of "Cult Horror".
Has The Funhouse (1981 Slasher by Tobe Hooper), Phantasm II, The Serpent and the Rainbow, and another one I had never heard of, Sssssss. It was in the $5 w/ a buncha other crap, the sticker says March 2011 so I'm guessing it's new. The Funhouse and Phantasm II share a disc, which Serpent and the Rainbow and Sssssss share another. All are Dolby Digital 2.0 mono, and 3 of them are Widescreen 1.85:1 except The Funhouse is Widescreen 2.35:1. Skimmed through Phantasm and Funhouse (the 2 I'm interested in) and the quality on my HDTV when played on my X360 was great, no complaints from me. Links on Walmart: walmart.com/ip/15686880 |

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2
Found 2 great deals in the $5 bin at the Newark, Ohio Wal-Mart
Universal has released a Classic War Collection and a Classic Western Collection with each containing 4 previously released titles. Each collection has 2 movies on a disc. The war collection contains WAKE ISLAND (1942) with Brian Donlevy & William Bendix, TO HELL AND BACK (1955) with Audie Murphy, BATTLE HYMN (1957) with Rock Hudson and GRAY LADY DOWN (1977) with Charlton Heston. The western set includes ALBUQUERQUE (1948) with Randolph Scott, WHISPERING SMITH (1948) with Alan Ladd, DUEL AT SILVER CREEK (1952) with Audie Murphy and WAR ARROW (1953) with Maureen O'Hara and Jeff Chandler. |

Oh well, it's still nice to have an individual copy on the shelf with the other 3 Phantasm flicks. |
Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2
just wanted to add on the fact that there is not one special feature for any of the 4 movies. it's title screen is 2 posters, one for each movie, and when you press enter it goes straight into the movies. all 4 do feature English SDH subtitles it says though.
