Some included Longest Day, Patton, Thin Red Line, A Bridge Too Far, Diary of Anne Frank, South Pacific, 12 O'Clock High, Bridge at Remegan, Von Ryan's Express, The Great Escape, etc. Picked up 12 O'Clock High, Bridge at Remegan, Von Ryan's Express. Valkyrie was in there but rang up at $9, so I passed.

Seemingly untouched - South Pacific, Anne Frank, Great Escape, 12 O'clock High, Tora3, Valkyrie.

Went back for a few more items. Got Big Red One, Mr. Roberts and Longest Day. All were $5.

Grabbed these from the what-I-thought-was-another-$5-bin for war films:
- Heartbreak Ridge
- Mister Roberts
- The Hunt for Red October
- Saving Private Ryan - Special Limited Edition (for some reason this one was $9!)

They also had a 2nd $5 bin, with many titles that were $2 on BF.

Where Eagles Dare (Nice Eastwood-Burton action flick!)

Battle of the Bulge

Back to Bataan

The Big Red One-The Reconstruction Two Disc Special Edition

-- Back to Bataan rang up at $9.00, but oh well...

Found the first and second seasons of "Chuck" for fifteen bucks each.

Bought S1, but not two.

Question. I know that Best Buy at one point had an exclusive for one of the seasons, an episode presented in 3D. Which season was that?

That was for Season Two.

I don't think it was a BB exclusive, but it was a limited time that the episode would be in 3D on the disc themselves and include glasses.

Found "Scooby Doo Where are You?" S1 & 2 in the $5 bin. It was of course not $5, but a good price at $24.95.

Picked up the MGM version of A CHRISTMAS CAROL in the dump bin. Only copy I could find. Maybe this was a Big Lots title once upon a time, but I never saw it there and there was no slash in the bar code. It's also available for the same price at walmart.com right now. So perfect timing to find this movie a week before Christmas Eve!

I picked up Event Horizon for $9, which made me super happy because it had the lenticular slip case on it.....the weird part was, the dvd case (sealed, obviously), had NO artwork and was a recyclable case. wtf? paramount is that cheap now? i can understand a recyclable case, ok, but no artwork? All the copies were like that

How many were in there? Just that one set you found? I ask because many of times I've been to Walmats where an employee must have accidentally put non $5.00 dump bin titles in the dump bin. Of course each time I get all excited about a great title being so cheep only to have it ring up at $20.00 or more. But each time I explained that I got the title out of the dump bin and that there were many more in there as well and sure if enough I get the title for $5.00. So if there were a bunch of Scooby sets in there you might want to go back and say something and try and get if for the $5.00

The $5.00 bin at my local wal mart was half empty as I was picking through it this morning when an associate came up and refilled it clear back to the top. She seemed to be in a bad mood and shook the DVDs into the bin from a huge box like she was dumping the trash.

Anyway, the new refill had some titles I bought that I had been wanting for some time:

Mister Roberts

Empire of the Sun

The Bridge at Remagen

Has anybody seen "Time After Time" at the stores? I have yet to run into it. Even though I see a sign on the rack for it, empty.

I ordered mine and did a store-pick-up.
I did not see any problem with it and got mine in less than a week.
I don't understand where all the fuss was about with WAL-MART store-pick-up.

We don't have in-store pick up at Walmart in Hawaii. Which sucks because there were a lot of titles I wanted to get that were marked down to $5 each, but the shipping negated the savings so I didn't do it.

But at least I live in Hawaii!

In-store-pickup has been fairly good for this holiday season as orders have arrived in a week or less. Outside the holiday season orders take 2-3 weeks to arrive. The staff at the one I use is nice, friendly, and easy-going but I usually have to wait several minutes for someone to show up and get my stuff.

Based on reported finds it appears some of the on-line $5 titles are starting to get "dumped"... At least a couple I ordered have been reported.

Only 1 of the 2 stores here has a dump bin since the shelving was taken down. I rarely visit that store and never look/dig in the dump bin any more. But if more of those $5 on-line titles show up I might. There's something about ordering 8-12 titles that'll stop me every time but I'll pick up 2-3 here and there without a second thought.

I picked up two of the Midnight Horror Collection's, "Road Trip To Hell" and "Bloody Slashers" for $5 each. I assume they were part of the Halloween selection but this is the first time I've seen them. I also picked up a 4-film pack of "Drive Thru" (the main reason I grabbed it), "Creep", "Boy Eats Girl" and "Tamara" for $5.

Does anyone know if the $5 repackaging of the Burt Lancaster western triple feature of LAWMAN, KENTUCKIAN and UNFORGIVEN are letterboxed versions? It doesn't say anywhere on the case and Amazon and Wal Mart sites offer conflicting ratios. I know asking them to be anamorphic too might be a stretch given it's MGM/Fox, but I would at least like to know if they are letterboxed. Any help is most appreciated.

A little late here, but I saw a ton of these for $5 at Wal Mart Christmas 2009 in the bins along with Christmas in Connecticut, none of them ever had cutout marks...and never saw them at any Big Lots.

I saw a grand total of 1 1938 Christmas Carol this last year, and no Christmas in Connecticut.....
