Looks like he answered you. I was just shocked to see them so cheap. They've been rare to find in stores and go for $29.99 or even $34.99 in store or online for a long time now. This is the cheapest I have seen them. Amazon.com has dropped theirs to around $14 before shipping. But Wal-Mart is still the best deal.

Note: Most all of these come with Disney Movie Rewards. (Or the old send in your receipts to get the rewards.)

I saw the double feature of Mannequin/Mannequin 2: On The Move the other day. Unfortunately, when I returned to purchase it, there were no more left.

I've been wanting to get the DuckTales sets but the five closest W-M's don't have them in stock. They've been out for almost a month. I'm wondering if this is a sign that I should wait...

My WM got the dump bin back, but this time it's a tiny little one on a endcap. Lots of copies of G.I Joe: Rise of Cobra{Single Disc} and Merry Madagascar.

Picked up today in the dump bin:

The Substitute 1,2,3,4
Pumpkinhead 2/Leprechaun/Wishmaster/Wishmaster 2
Born To Controversy: The Roddy Piper Story

I know these are nothing new but they had a bunch of the Horror 4-pack. I had hoped to score the one with Slaughter High, but didn't see it.

They also had a bunch of single disc Horror. I seen Halloween 2 (orig.), Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers, Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare, Hellbound: Hellraiser II and a few others.

A few days back I picked up "Star Trek: The Animated Series" for $15.00. While very true this has been mentioned months ago. I missed my opportunity then. It's back. Very cool.

Which ones dropped on Amazon?

Also, has anybody seen Gummi Bears at Walmart for these low prices?

Amazon.com currently before shipping ...

Duck Tales: Volume 1 $14.10
Duck Tales: Volume 2 $13.98
Duck Tales: Volume 3 $13.98
Chip 'N Dale Rescue Rangers: Volume 1 $14.31
Chip 'N Dale Rescue Rangers: Volume 1 $14.39
Talespin: Volume 1 $14.32
Talespin: Volume 2 $13.98
Darkwing Duck: Volume 1 $14.30
Darkwing Duck: Volume 2 $14.22

This must be reflecting Wal-mart having them so cheap. Because a month ago I was looking these up on Amazon and still thought they were too high. Currently all are pretty good priced. Wal-mart tops Amazon though even before adding shipping.

That's weird, I'm not seeing any of those on Amazon, or are you looking at marketplace sellers?

Whoops! Sorry. I've never actually bought anything from Amazon.com themselves. I always buy from the sellers (They are much cheaper.) So force of habit I was looking at the sellers prices.

Looking at Amazon.com prices really makes Wal-mart the better deal! Just look in the TV box set section of your local Wal-marts. You should see some of these and for $12.96 (I think I said $12.95 on the other post.) it's a great steal. You know these will vanish from Wal-mart soon and online prices will go back up.

Sorry for any confusion. I am not able to pick any up right now as I have bigger buys to think about. So I will miss out on this one. I just thought I'd alert you guys so someone could pick them up for that price. Quantity could be a problem though as it seems both of my Wal-marts only got in three or four copies of each.

Are these widescreen?

And if you're in the Taylor, Michigan area they have the Repossessed/Slaughter High four pack. It's not in the DVD section, but in that gray rack near Toys, eastward face, on the lower shelves.

3 is FS, the rest are WS. Also, 1 & 3 are together on a double-sided disc.

That's strange (must be a repackage from an earlier double feature). A quick look at IMDB shows that 3 is supposed to be widescreen, so that's unfortunate.

I had to cave in and buy ...

Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers: Volume 1 - FS ( Episodes 1-27 )
Chip 'n' Dale Rescue Rangers: Volume 2 - FS ( Episodes 28-51 Plus the 5-part pilot )

... for $12.96 each when I saw them at Wal-Mart tonight. I am very happy with my decision.

Pet Sematary for 5 bucks.
Twilight Zone Movie for 7.50
The Happening/Omen/Shutter for 13 bucks (comes with 3 individual discs).
Jackass The Box Set for 20 bucks.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

BTW, the DVD section at the Lenoir City, TN Wal-mart really shrunk. They moved the Blu-Rays to an odd place near the register right out in the middle of where everyone walks. Almost anything worthwhile is gone now. As for Horror ... they did put in an end cap of 4 Film favorites and I saw like 2 different horror movies in the tiny bargain bin. But nothing of interest.

BTW, they want $13.00 for these 4 Film Favorites when Target only wants $9.99 and often has them on sale for either $7.99 or $8.99 which is when I buy them.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

I just found out that the five-part pilot is included in the number of episodes. The episodes are not in the right order on either Volume. Only 51 episodes are included on these volumes. There are 65 episodes in all! So 14 are missing. Disney canceled plans to release a Volume 3. Yet ...

http://www.disneydvd.com.au/index.cfm?P=623

That looks like a Volume 3 in Australia to me. Anyone who even cares about this old show may like to know that ...

A) A new ongoing comic book will begin in December 2010. I believe it focuses on what happens after the 65 episodes.

B) If Disney will ever move forward on it. A direct-to-DVD movie taking place after the 65 episodes showing how the team reforms.

I will have to look into it. But I think Talespin and Darkwing Duck are also incomplete series. Duck Tales did get a volume 3 so surely they're complete. The DMR exclusive Duck Tales movie is coming to DVD very soon. Oh, and I heard complaints that the Gummi Bears is incomplete. Disney needs to get their collective butts in gear on these releases. Have they even bothered to release Goof Troop box sets?

Anyway you can pick these up at Wal-mart for cheap now. But you'll just have to hope Disney will complete each series in time.

Here I thought I had the whole series and in the right order. Now I'll have to use an episode guide to figure out what order to watch the episodes in. The first five are on Volume 2 for crying out loud.

Saw at Wal-mart ...

The Great Mouse Detective: Mystery In The Mist Edition with slipcover $13.00
Con Air with digital copy and slipcase $13.00
Batman: 2-Disc Special Edition $13.00
Batman & Robin: 2-Disc Special Edition $5.00
Double Feature: Absolute Zero / Disaster Zone: Volcano Under New York $5.00

I must have fallen into a time machine $5 dump bin, cause everything was found 10 months ago, but I got: Risky Business, Stripes, Jurassic Parks 1, 2 & 3, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Troy, Rooster Cogburn, & Sons of Katy Elder. I missed Tiffany's at Big Lots, and the Troy 2 disc was widescreen at Wal-mart and same price as BL.

I haven't seen any good deals at WM in a long time, their $5 barrel/dump has the same stuff they've been selling for years.

Don't know when this happened but just noticed the other day my local WM has ALL their CD's now filed together - rock, country, urban, etc. and far fewer aisles of CD's. Are CDs just not selling there any more? (Then again, I haven't bought a CD at WM in years myself).

I had to have the CD player in my pickup fixed about a month ago, so I brought it to a local car audio guy that I've dealt with for years. During the discussion of whether or not to bother fixing my factory unit or upgrading to something newer, he talked about how he doesn't sell as many CD players as compared to stereos that you hook up an iPOD, or an MP3 player to. When I asked why, he said that the CD industry is downsizing dramatically because of all the online options available nowadays. Maybe that's got something to do with it ???

I've gotten quite good at predicting which DVDs I'm going to see in the $5 bin at Walmart, and I usually make my prediction right after the film comes out on DVD. It's a gift.

I don't look very carefully in the $5 bin any more because I see the same old stuff that I've already gotten for $3 at Big Lots or $5 at Amazon or DD perhaps. If you see DD or Amazon or FYE have a sale of really cheap DVDs, most likely it'll be the same stuff Walmart has in their bins. I wouldn't say that stuff goes into the bin that fast, but certainly 6 months to a year after a DVD release it's pretty likely. I seriously can't remember the last time I bought anything from Walmart's $5 bin... it seems like it must be over a year now. I have difficulty paying $5 for a DVD when if I wait 6 months to a year I can get it at Big Lots for <= $3 or get the BD for under $10. It's nice that Walmart still has the $5 bins because it's a great place for people starting their collections, but for me it's pretty useless now. The days of getting excited over $5 DVDs is long over. I might get excited over $5 BDs... for a while.

I've been happy to see the return of the $5 bins to several of the WMs I visit. And a nice, well made fixture, too--not a cheap cage, but a decent piece of store furniture. As if they intend to keep it around for a while. Kind of a squared circle thing with heavy posts at the corners. Of course, they're up to their old tricks with them--heaping DVDs so high that you can't really displace items to hunt beneath them. Like another poster, I haven't bought from a bin for some time. Six, eight months. Actually, I've bought very few DVDs of any kind from WM this year.
