I picked up Open Range 2 disc for $5.00. Great gun fight ending! At first look I was not real impressed with this movie but since I have seen it a few more times....the gun fight at the end is awesome! So i picked up the DVD with my $5.00 wal -mart gift card!

I saw lots of copies of Slap Shot 3 on the $3 shelf. I would guess it is truly terrible, as Slap Shot 2 was, but being the completest.....

I saw the Resident Evil Trilogy for $13 and the two-disc edition of Superbad for $9.

Was at Walmart this morning and came across a big display of $13 TV sets. Picked up the first seasons of Burn Notice and Robot Chicken. They also had season 1 of Bones along with various seasons of Remington Steele, Bewitched, I Dream of Jeannie, Moonlighting, Punky Brewster, and plenty of others that I can't remember right now.

Saw Dream A Little Dream 2 in the $5 bin. I didn't even know they made a sequel.

I saw it earlier today myself, picked up Damages Season 1 and Bones Season 1 for $13 a pop (they had the Bones S1/S2 double-pack for $35, but I figure I can get the 2nd season for cheap and save a few bucks).

Good deal for 2 highly acclaimed first seasons.

Not sure how much of a bargain it is, but has anyone seen Bon Jovi: Live from MSG DVD at Walmart? It was released 5/11 and supposed to be a Walmart exclusive (standard dvd, bluray is at amazon), but they don't have it on the website. Just curious as to the price and I figure what better place to ask than the people who are always checking out the Walmart dvds? Thanks.

I just bought both seasons of Rat Patrol for $10 each. It may have been $15 each, but pretty sure it was $10. Yeah, had to be $10, no way I'd pay $15.

Welcome Back Kotter S1 was also $10.

Found a selection of (mostly) war and western DVDs priced at $6. Picked up:
Mackenna's Gold 1:85 anamorphic
Man from Laramie 2:35 anamorphic
The Caine Mutiny 1:85 anamorphic
The Great Escape 2 disc SE 2:35 anamorphic

In addition to the $13 TV sets already mentioned, they had The Incredible Hulk seasons 1-5 at the same price.

WARNING! Just loaded Mackenna's Gold and, despite what the new packaging says, it is the same old non-anamorphic widescreen as before, so don't bite unless that is unimportant to you.

Don't know if this would interest anyone but if you're looking for a biker exploitation film fix this is a pretty cheap one that interested me:

savage cinema 12 movie set- $4.25

http://www.walmart.com/ip/13917840

it's one of those mill creek sets like the gorehouse greats 12 movie set. It doesn't seem to available in stores (or is it? anyone find it?) I ordered a copy to my walmart for pickup.

amazon is selling it for $13.49

Even at $13 each, I couldn't justify buying most of those series. The older ones (pre 90's) are ones I saw back in the 70s or 80's before VCRs were common and kids watched whatever silly stuff was on TV often with their parent(s)... I Dream of Jeannie, Partridge Family, Love Boat, Incredible Hulk, and Bob Newhart to name just a few. However, in spite of vague, fond memories of watching those, I'm not going to buy any of them because I think most of them were just "OK" and I doubt my adult perception would quite match a kid's. The 2 series that are among the best (IMHO) are Family Ties and Welcome Back Kotter, but I already have them of course. I'm afraid we'll never see WBK S2 and S3.

Yesterday at Wal-Mart I picked up Magnum, P.I. (S2) for $13,00.

Hm, I might pick up Blossom S1 & S2 but like Manzana said, I'm not even sure if I would like it now. It is a Shout! Factory release though so I should support them because they do release many titles (both movies and television) that otherwise probably wouldn't have gotten released.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

^^^^^^Wow, that's quite a list! The larger of the 2 stores here had 6-10 of those titles. I've not looked at the other one but if they had all the titles listed it'd be the entire DVD section.

FWIW - there were only 2 seasons of "Rat Patrol" so they have the entire run.

Ya gotta get the Partridge Family just for that episode with Danny where he joins the Black Panthers!!!....it also stars Richard Pryor and I believe Lou Gossett Jr.

If anyone happens to see Magnum PI Season 8 at a specific Walmart let me know please. I checked out one Walmart today and didn't find any of the tv sets. Did see the $6.00 flicks and also a clearance section for electronics. Purchased a set of Phillips 80W speakers with amp for $25.00. Did see a Sony Blu/Dvd combo for $50.00 and Harmony remote for $35.00.

Went back to Walmart this morning and broke down and picked up Bones season 1 for $13. Other shows in addition to those mentioned above are Riptide season 1, The Closer season 1, How I Met Your Mother season 1, and Saving Grace season 1.

While looking up the "Biker" set mentioned above, the page also showed Wal-Mart offering "The Greatest American Hero: Complete First Season" for $4.25. Of course, they also show "The Greatest American Hero: Season One" for $20.86, -it has a different cover, but I don't know if there's a difference in content.
