"vampire's kiss" was a good movie but most people really didn't "get it", its not really a vampire movie, Nick Cage plays a disturbed individual who thinks he is a vampire.

Six Feet Under - Seasons 1, 2 and 5 for $14.96 each.
Carnivale - Seasons 1 and 2 for $14.96 each.

Both excellent HBO series for those who haven't seen them.

Nothing else I noticed new, and both Star Trek Entreprise and Voyager season 1's now appear to be gone.
All the Seasons of Six Feet Under except for Season 3 were at my Wally World. Why would you skip the middle seasons?

I was tempted to get Carnivale, but I'll Netflix it and see if it's my cup of tea.

I saw Season 3 of Six Feet Under for 7.99 at a Kroger's last week. I would have picked it up had I known that seasons 1 and 2 would drop in price.

My theory is that the distributors do this to "encourage" you to pick up the missing middle sets for your collection at higher prices. The "bookends" are the loss leaders.

Except stuff like this tends to blow that, eh?

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

i bought The color Purple over a week ago, the movie stops at 1:15:00 while it's supposed to be more than 2 hour long. I don't have the receipt anymore. But if i still had it, is it possible to return opened but defected DVD in Wal-mart?

With a receipt, you'd have no problem exchanging an open/defective DVD for one that works.

The first release of The Color Purple was on 2 sides, since dual-layer discs hadn't been perfected yet. If there's no printing on the front of yours except in the middle, try turning it over!

(Are you the same guy who sent a DVD in the mail to Tower Records' main office with a note saying "This DVD is defected"? I took it home, watched it all the way through with no problems and mailed it back!)

I know these were at Big Lots cheap last year but if you are missing some of the seasons, Wal-mart got the following.

Lois and Clark all 4 seasons at $14.96 each. (these are above $20 at Amazon)
Thundercats S1V1 S1V2 at $19.96 each. (these are about $49 at Amazon)

Don't...tease...! I'll be very excited to find these at my local store...and very disappointed if they never appear (a la Enterprise, Man Who Shot Liberty Valance Centennial, and nearly everything else that has caught my attention in this thread).

The vampire/werewolf rack has some good stuff on it for $7.50. I picked up Romero's MARTIN, thinking about going back to pick up Jess Franco's DRACULA.

That is the full extent of the tv on dvd section at my closest walmart. It's pitiful now. Next to it is the multipack movies 4 times its size.

lol, well it used to be about 4 times that size, and there were a few discount endcaps of tv shows around there too. Thats all thats left. I want to go try a Walmart Supercenter near me but I hate it because all their dvds are in locked cases. I don't like it when they do that. Takes forever to find someone to come unlock one.

Don't feel too bad, vmars. Last time I looked (a couple weeks ago) my closest Walmart's TV season section looked about the same as your picture except it had even more empty spots. They change it almost every time I go (which is now closer to once a month instead of weekly), and I got tired of going because the only constant is that they seem to carry less and less titles... they almost never surprise me with a new display having more. 3 miles further is another Walmart that last time I looked had a TV season section about 4x that. It doesn't matter anyway since I usually buy mail order now. By having such a pitiful DVD/BD selection my Walmart has told me they don't care about selling those products very much, so I no longer care about checking there unless someone posts here about a special deal.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

Walmart had thundercats before at that price, its nice to see them again personally, ALTHOUGH, beware the encoding on seasoon 1 part 1 is kinda sucky, and they never fixed issues with it-

Either way they are a steal at $19.96 i picked em up myself-

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

Walmart's got a lot of great new deals in. Of the sets I could remember:

Roswell Season 1/Season 2
Roswell Season 3
Lois and Clark Season 1
Lois and Clark Season 2
Lois and Clark Season 3
Lois and Clark Season 4
Dark Angel Season 1/Season 2
Grey's Anatomy Season 3
Grey's Anatomy Season 4

Only ones I could remember. The Lois and Clark sets are $14.99 each.

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

I was in my local Wal-Mart yesterday and they had taken out the 5$ bin and had all those titles placed in one of the regular dvd selves on an end cap. I really don't know how they expect anyone to dig through that mess.

There was also a big section of 5$ titles most of them being horror titles. I picked up:
Rush Hour 3
Land of the Dead
The Others
The Orphanage
The Brave One

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

I don't know if this has been posted yet.

I just came back from my local WM and they had a new $4 display up.

Some of the titles include.
The Scorpion King (WS)
Antonement (FS)
Napoleon Dynamite
Die Hard 2
American Pie Presents Book of Love
The Adventures of Black Stallion:The Complete First Season (Echo Bridge)

Plus lots more.

In the $5 display they had a whole bunch of animated films.
The Animated Mummy series (Volumes 1-3)
Dr> Seuss: The Cat in the Hat
Some Barbie movie
An American Tale film

Re: Wal-Mart Bargains Thread #2

Saw quite a few Corey Haim titles in the $5 bin.
Blown Away
Dream A Little Dream
Dream A Little Dream 2
Demolition University
Busted

There was also a brand new display of $7.50 and $15.00 titles. The two disc Psycho legacy series edition was the only one i bought from the new display for $15.
