Mine went back up today too.. had to do the same thing as yesterday, they readjusted again.

WTF is going on here? With other items in the past, if the price raises, it has never changed the existing order total

Got a response within an hour of my email lowering the price of S2 back down to $34.99. Going to keep this email just in case.

I emailed them earlier and haven't heard a peep. I hope they don't decide to just not answer at all. When I get off work they will get a phone call (or two) as well.

Re: Amazon LOST Blu-Ray Seasons Buy: 2 Save $20, 3 Save $30, 4 Save $40

I e-mailed them back and fourth 4 times yesterday. This is want I got from them today:

"Greetings from Amazon.com.

I apologize for any inconvenience this situation might have caused.

I have checked your order # and see that the price of the DVD "Lost: The Complete Second Season [Blu-ray]" has increased from $34.99 to $48.99.

It was due to some technical error at our end the price changed. To correct this error, I've reduced the cost of your DVD by $34.99. Now the total order cost is $49.98.

Because this item is eligible for Pre-Order Price Guarantee, when the item is released and shipped, you will be charged either $34.99 or, if the price decreases between now and the release date, the lowest price.

Rest Assured that, If the Amazon.com price increases between now and the release date, you will still be charged $34.99.

The actual price you are charged will be displayed in the shipment confirmation e-mail you receive as well as in Your Account.

If at all, at the time of shipment, if you have been charged higher price rather than $34.99 for the above DVD "Lost: The Complete Second Season [Blu-ray]," Please let us know by visiting the link below, so that we may credit the difference amount."

Got the investigating email 2 days ago. Sent another one today, got a response saying basically wait for the other guy from 2 days ago to handle it. So, still waiting.

They raised the price on my order again. This is unacceptable on Amazon's part. I sent them another e-mail and am awaiting my response.

Re: Amazon LOST Blu-Ray Seasons Buy: 2 Save $20, 3 Save $30, 4 Save $40

I called them and the CSR said that in my account it is "noted" that on the 31st the price went down to 34.99. I asked her why it didn't show that in my order and she said because prices go up and down between the time of the order and the time it is shipped. She guaranteed me that despite it showing 48.99 that I would only be charged 34.99, or less if it changes to an even lower price, when it ships. She said that she didn't want to make an adjustment because if she did and it went lower (I doubt it) that I would be stuck at that price (don't know why that would happen). This is a crock and seems to be a big headache for something that doesn't even release until June. Maybe Amazon is trying to push all of our business elsewhere.

Got this from these idiots:

Greetings from Amazon.com.

We sincerely apologize for the error that resulted in an incorrect price being displayed for the items "Lost: The Complete First Season" and "Lost: The Complete Second Season" from the Order # xxxxxxxxxxx.

At any given time, despite our best efforts, a small number of the millions of items on our site may be mispriced. We do, however, verify prices as part of our shipping procedures.

If an item's correct price is lower than our stated price, we charge the lower amount and ship you the item. If an item's correct price is higher than our stated price, we will, at our discretion, either contact you for instructions before shipping or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation.

In accordance with our posted policies on pricing, we are unable to offer this item for the incorrectly posted price

You can read more about our pricing policies in our Help pages:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/custom...?nodeId=468502

Thanks again for letting us know how you feel about this issue. I hope you will give us a chance to serve you again in the future.
I will be calling tomorrow and straight this out. This is completely ridiculous.

Don't want to rain on your parade or anything, but the CSR is correct, at least from my own experience. I preordered something (can't remember of the top of my head what it was) and the price went down and then up (higher than at what I had ordered it at) and actually stayed up until release date. It even stated the higher price in my shipping email, but when i checked my card statement I had only been charged the lowest price it had been at.

That wouldn't be raining on my parade. That would basically mean that regardless of what happens from here on out I would still be charged at most the 34.99 rather than the 48.99 that it now shows.

There should not be any "investigating" that needs to be done. The CSRs can clearly see that on the 31st the price dropped to 34.99. That is all they need to know in order to give us that price as long as we ordered before the drop or during the drop.

Might I suggest this: anyone who has already placed an order for any combination of these titles to monitor the prices daily and this thread. If any of the 4 go down again, simply take a screenshot of the page and timestamp it. A couple of days before the pre-orders are about to ship make sure your price is the lowest of your screenshots or you'll have to contact them. I don't see a need to bother this early when the price may go down further or there may be a gold box offer as well. Remember, the offer goes through July 16th. Prices may drop further after the release date if sales are not up to par.

I guess it just depends on which CS rep you get. I emailed them last night after reading this thread and this morning the price is showing as adjusted, $34.99.
Thanks all for the heads up. I e-mailed through Amazon website Contact Us if that makes any difference.

The problem with this is that they adjusted the price without letting us know and giving us the option of cancelling or agreeing to the additional charge. I'm not going to bother with them anymore. I'll let the order go through and if they charge the extra $14, I'll dispute it with MasterCard. I have an e-mail confirmation when I initially placed the order and an e-mail from Amazon agreeing to correct the price after they raised it. I shouldn't have any problems winning this dispute if it comes to that.

Re: Amazon LOST Blu-Ray Seasons Buy: 2 Save $20, 3 Save $30, 4 Save $40

I ordered both sets when they were $48.99, and I have not and will not fool with checking my order price every day from now until June 16th, and emailing and/or calling them 75 times. Their pre-order price guarantee clearly states that upon shipment, I will be charged the lowest price for the item between the time I placed the order and the ship date. If this does not happen, I will be throwing a bitch fit when that time comes.

I just received an email like dx23. I don't know if I will keep my order because of this mess or not. I did cancel a preorder I had on some other items. I did send Amazon a feedback reply but I doubt it will do any good.

Well even though I had received an email stating they would honor the price and the order was corrected, it has now gone back up again in my cart. If they don't honor it I won't waste any more time or money with Amazon.
