I'm glad I checked this thread again. My season 2 price was raised too. I think I will call Thurs since it seems to be going smoothly for people on the phone.

I had them call me and I spent about 15 minutes going back and forth with the guy on the phone. What he told me was that the price the day of shipping is what they go by. So the day you order vs. the day it ships. So it doesn't matter how much it fluctuates in between.
Essentially it would have been better to just reorder both at the sale price and cancel the original order. I even asked him if that is what I should have done and he said yes.
So a no go for me. I haven't heard back on my second email yet.
Fuckin bullshit.

I shot them yet ANOTHER e-mail. They had adjusted it back up on my order AGAIN. What a joke. I wonder if this really is some kind of technical error or if Amazon is intentionally changing our orders like this? This is making me second guess my faith in their website and business. Maybe I shouldn't order from them so much in the future...

placed my initial order @ the 34.99 price. that way i had an email confirmation with the exact charge. they don't really have anyway to argue in that case, because anything over was not autorized in the initial transaction.
emailed and got the same 1-2 business day response that they would look into it, so...
called customer support and they fixed it an a few minutes. the customer rep said there were quite a few people calling in about this and gave the same spiel about a techinical problem

I called and got the same response as Michael Corvin. The girl was really nice and said it doesn't make much sense so she changed it back for me. No hassle at all for me. Thanks for the heads up on this.

I wish I had caught the $34.99 price for S2. That would have balanced out the high price of S3. I already have S4 on BD, and I know I'll pick up S5 on BD when it comes out instead of just waiting for the box set. So I might as well buy S1-S3 on BD. I would probably consider this (possibly even at the $48.99 price) if S3 wasn't $62! Why is that season so much higher? I even found it at CC during the closing and they were selling it for a % off of $99.99. So even at 50% off it was stil $50. Not a great deal, if you ask me. But it was gone before they even got down to that point and below.

Updated: Amazon fixed it for now. Both Seasons $34.99. They never reply to my e-mail.
Same here. Originally they lowered both S1 & S2 to $34.99. Now S2 is $48.99, but S1 is still $34.99.

Nope, things didn't go smoothly. I had Amazon call me. The guy would not honor the preorder guarantee. He told me I had to call on 3/31 when the price went down. I told him that Amazon lowered my price that day and subsequently raised it back up. He said it's $48.99. There was nothing he could do. I emailed Amazon. I can't believe what terrible customer service they have.

I had to contact them a second time, but it looks like it was worth it. They have lowered the price on Seasons 1 & 2 to $34.99 each, which, along with the $20 discount, gives me both sets for less than 50 bucks.
I'll just have to remember to check the status for the next couple months to make sure there's no more shenanigans.
