Well, they fixed my earlier problem of getting the wrong disc. They didn't have the set I really order, so they credited me.

My other two orders were in awful shape. I got the Toxie's Top Ten tin and it was beat to hell, had a broken latch, and the covers for all the DVDs looked like they had been soaked in water and were warped.

The Citizen Kane gold box edition I ordered was torn and didn't have some of the inserts. Also, one of the discs was just sitting in the case instead of a hub.

Now I have to order a bunch of new Amaray cases because most of the ones I got have tons of sticker residue on them. Why can't they put the stickers on after they shrinkwrap?

Needless to say, I'm completely done with Second Spin.

I've got my fair share of shitty looking or shape DVDs from them tho....
Lucky for me they are quick to reply & always send out replacements....
I agree stickers should go on after the shrinkwrap....
On their site it sounds like they are strict on taking in DVDs but that's not true....
Atleast with some of the stuff I recieved from them....

ive seen bootlegs in-store at secondspin (and fye, for that matter). meh.

as far as used dvds, i generally never purchase anything that is fragile or collectable, as i figure the chances of getting it mint and complete is nil.

you can remove sticker residue with bestine rubber cement thinner or lighter fluid will also usally work. neither will damage the plastic of the case.

Has anyone contacted them about missing slip-covers?

I'm usually not too worried, bc most of them are the same as the cover. But I received "The Bird With The Crystal Plumage" without one and really liked the look of the slip-cover.

just email them and tell them the disc itself is defective, and they will send you another one. whether or not it will come with a slipcover, who knows.

I just received the last of my 3 orders from this sale. I was waiting for everything to arrive before contacting customer service. I ended up with 2 bad dvds total and the 1 missing slip-cover. I'm going to ask for a replacement for the 2 scratched copies and just mention the slip-cover for the other in the same email. Hopefully they can find one and ship it out with the other 2 films.

I placed 9 largish orders with second spin, and received all within days of ordering. They must have a fulfillment center close by i'd assume. As for the slipcovers, it really is a crapshoot. I've received items brand new, slipcovers and all, and sometimes without. It all depends on whether it had a slipcover when it was traded in the first place. Or sometimes, it can be brand new, and sold without a slipcover.

SecondSpin's customer service keeps me shopping there again and again. It really is second to none.

Yeah, I'm not expecting I'll get the slip-cover, but there is no reason not to ask since they'll be sending out 2 replacements anyways.

I've only contacted them twice in the past and each time they sent a replacement straight away. I've noticed some people say they have received credit for a damaged disc. I looked on the site and 1 of the 2 that were damaged this time around is not in-stock. So, will I get credit on the site or will they put a credit back on my credit card?

I think they usually just put a credit on your account (thats what they have done with me in the past) but if you want a refund to your card, you'd have to request that.
