From their help page:
Shipping Reimbursement:
We now offer shipping credit for up to 25 items! When you sell 5 or more items in one transaction we'll give you a shipping credit for the Media Mail rate of your shipment. This credit is based on the number of items sold in one transaction (see our postage credit below). Please note we will only provide credit for items that are ACCEPTED.
* Trade in 5-6 items; receive $2.56 credit
* Trade in 7-10 items; receive $2.93 credit
* Trade in 11-14 items; receive $3.28 credit
* Trade in 15-17 items; receive $3.63 credit
* Trade in 18-21 items; receive $3.98 credit
* Trade in 22-24 items; receive $4.33 credit
* Trade in 25 or more items; receive $4.68 credit
I always ship via Priority Mail since Media Mail may not make the 30-day time limit from Hawaii.
Thanks OP! I had already boxed up some things for DVD Planet but this came out a better deal.

This is a much better deal than DVDPlanet. SOme of the titles I traded were within $1 of what I could get at half.com. I figure by the time I buy and envelope and a tracking number there's my $1

5-6 items $2.47
7-10 items $2.81
11-14 items $3.15
15-17 items $3.49
18-21 items $3.83
22-24 items $4.17
25 or more $4.51
basically the shipping credit will barely cover media mail for the lower end of the range. so you want to break up your sell orders to take advantage of that as much as possible. for example the poster above who sold them 60 CDs would have been better off splitting it into 3 orders of 25, 25 and 10. separate orders do have to ship in separate boxes to get separate shipping credits.

they hide it pretty well, but here is what they give.
5-6 items $2.47
7-10 items $2.81
11-14 items $3.15
15-17 items $3.49
18-21 items $3.83

Before anyone wastes their time computing the math like I did, all 4 of these scenarios are EXACTLY the same. $11.83 for each. The best reimbursement would actually be multiple smaller orders, like 4 orders of 15 ($13.96), or 5 orders of 11 + 1 order of 5 ($18.22). But the key, of course, is how much you are SPENDING to send it in. To send all 60 in one box was likely cheaper than sending 3 boxes of 25/25/10. So even though the reimbursement may have been better, it isn't necessarily a better payout in the long run...

Just put through a $140 in trade-in DVDs and CDs that have been gathering dust. Thanks for the heads-up about the added bonus!

Why 25/25/10? Why not 22/22/16 or 18/18/24 or 19/19/22?

because 25/25/10 was the first combo that came to mind.

using my example if all 60 were put in one box it would weigh 15lbs (yes i grabbed 60 off the shelves and weighed them and included a bit extra for the box weight) and cost $7.48 (8.23 with delivery con) to send while SS would only reimburse $4.51. 25/25/10 would cost $10.89 ($13.14 with delivery con) and you would be reimbursed $11.83. so by breaking it up you would save a few bucks or come out ahead if you don't use delivery confirmation.
smaller orders might gain you more, but i'm not going to figure it out for ya

I sent in a pretty big order that delivery conformation says they received on January 30th and have yet to hear from second spin. Is this normal, or should I email them and see what is up?

I have 3 myself. Two sent in for the extra 20% bonus and 1 after and haven't gotten confirmation on any of them yet.

Did you check your order status on their website? Probably will say "processing" or something similar, so at least you know they've gotten the order and are going through it. If there's no indication on your order status that they've even received it, then yes, I'd be giving them a buzz to get the scoop on your order.
