Re: $5.99 HD DVD titles
Glad they added more movies with free shipping. Picked up Happy Gilmore, Lost in Translation and Half Baked and added it to Night Court Season 2 I was getting on DVD. Looks like 2009 will be another year I buy more HD DVDs than Blu-rays in.

In for nine as they hit the magic $5 shipped threshold. Amazingly, I don't have any of these on SD.

Re: $5.99 HD DVD titles
It is so hard to resist going a bit crazy at $5 apiece. I wish I hadn't bought so many at even $8-$12 apiece going back some months from the Australian sites, Deepdiscount, etc. Waiting would have really paid off in this case. I bought about 7 titles in this recent sale at $5-$6 shipped.

Bought 15 more. Time to thin out my BD collection to make room for these
Much easier to swallow having $5 movies on the shelf then $20 ones that I may never watch.

Who woulda thought that paying 5.99 for some of these in the last week or two would be OVER paying for some of these titles! DOH! Oh well. Too late now...

Geez the prices seem to be changing on a daily basis. I ordered Stardust last night for 6.98 its 5.00 today. Zodiac also went down a buck to 5.99.
Hoping the mission impossible movies finally hit 5 bucks

I found 4 more to order at $5, plus Zodiac DC at $5.99. Now that I ordered, watch Zodiac be $5 within a week!
The only good thing is I've been avoiding double dipping on HD-DVDs. If I already own the SD, even if the HD-DVD if $5, I almost always pass. It would take $3 each to get me to do some double dipping.

Same here! I ordered 5 $5.99 HD-DVDs less than 2 weeks ago and now they are all $5 each. I assume since these are sold by traderbora or closeoutmovies instead of Amazon that I can't go back and ask Amazon for a price adjustment?

Even if it was Amazon, you couldn't get a price adjustment. They stopped doing that several months ago. The only price guarantee they have now is their pre-order guarantee (automatic)... OR if the order hasn't shipped yet, they will adjust the price (you have to call or email)

Yeah, with Amazon, it's usually easier to cancel and reorder, but if it's in shipping soon or if it's within a few days, they'll usually price match.

Sheesh. After ordering about 8 at the $5.99 price, I've ordered another 8 or so at the $5 price. I'm actually upgrading some SD movies...seems like a no brainer as long as they present any upgraded picture/sound at all.

Re: $5.99 HD DVD titles
If you haven't picked up Children of Men on HD-DVD, it's well worth the $5, imo. It's a depressing movie, ha, although I liked it(and Clive Owen and Michael Caine are both great), but visually it is really spectacular, that's why it got all those nominations and awards for cinematography. I watched the HD-DVD, it is really amazing, great color saturation and detail. As I said, the movie itself might not be to everyone's taste, but the cinematography is a work of art by itself, and like I said, it looks terrific on HD-DVD.
