Re: Kroger's Cheap New HBO DVD's and Unversal HD-DVD's (YMMV)

I checked one of the Dillon's on the other side of town tonight and ran across a bin containing these finally! They didn't have all of the titles listed here so far, but they had a couple not mentioned yet Waist Deep, and Scorpion King. I'll have to check around again, maybe they just hit town finally.

Here is a list of everything mentioned in the thread so far...
Accepted
Alpha Dog
An American Werewolf In London
Animal House
Army of Darkness
Ballz of Fury
Breach
Children of Men
Dazed and Confused
Eastern Promises
Elizabeth: The Golden Age
Evan Almighty
Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift
Fearless
Half Baked
Hollywoodland
Hot Fuzz
I Now Pronounce you Chuck & Larry
Miami Vice
Mr. Bean's Holiday
Scorpion King
Slither
Smokin' Aces
Talk To Me
The Break-Up
The Breakfast Club
The Good Shepherd
The Hitcher
The Kingdom
Unleashed
Waist Deep
You, Me and Dupree

Re: Kroger's Cheap New HBO DVD's and Unversal HD-DVD's (YMMV)

Louisville - Kroger - Hubbards Lane still has hundreds of them. They had them on Jan. 2 and they still have them today, Jan. 17.

They are not by the regular DVDs. They are by the books and magazines.

Picked up Fearless for $5.99. I already have most of the rest from the Inetvideo deals.

WAWAWEEWOW....
To everyone that found these displays I urge you guys to go back if there are still titles you want. I just went and saw the same display and this time there was a big cardboard sign saying that what was in the display WAS AN ADDITIONAL 50% (the lowest stickered price.) !!!!!!!

So I picked up (All HD-DVD Combo disks):
Talk to ME = $2.49
Alpha Dog = $2.99
Slither = $2.99
The Good Shepherd = $2.99
(Jet Li's) Fearless = $2.99

Also I picked up these five but noticed that I was definitely only charged for 4 of them. Yay for me.
Pretty amazing deal I must say.

Ahh, I don't recall seeing them there when I went. I'm only really looking for Eternal Sunshine though, did you happen to see that one?

I can verify that these are now an additional half off--but my display had no sign. I just got 5 more for $15. Great deal.

Re: Kroger's Cheap New HBO DVD's and Unversal HD-DVD's (YMMV)

Just checked the store closest to me they were moved to a section of wall by the video department (out of the display box) but no 50% off signs anywhere. They didn't have much left, maybe around 6-8 titles on HD/DVD.

I'll check another store tonight or tomorrow I'll try and hit the one that had the most stock when I first found them back in January.

Haven't seen this mentioned in this thread, but I found Brokeback Mountain on this deal today--half off of $6.99, so $3.49.

I picked up a few -- no sign, and my receipt made it appear that the 1/2 off discount happened because I swiped my Kroger Plus card.

I haven't seen any non-combo HD DVDs at Kroger.

I will hopefully check out a store or two in the next couple days.
There were some at the Bakers on 72nd and Ames in Omaha, but there is not much left now.

Re: Kroger's Cheap New HBO DVD's and Unversal HD-DVD's (YMMV)

I wish I was getting an extra 50% off here in Richmond, VA....I have found lots of these in various Krogers around town, but only still at the stickered price...
I picked up Army Of Darkness, Dazed And Confused, and Balls Of Fury...I'd consider a few more with the 50% off discount, so I hope it makes its way here soon....

Yeah, it appears that you need to use your Kroger Plus card to get the 50% off...

Picked up Eastern Promises and Slither here... Last copy of each.

If you're local... The Chinoe Road location in Lexington, KY still has Children of Men, Elizabeth: The Golden Age, Hollywoodland, Animal House, The Hitcher, two Jet Li titles, Miami Vice, Evan Almighty and some others. Display is in the front by the RX section.

Not here in Richmond, VA....I scanned my Kroger Plus card (which it shows on the receipt) but it did not take any additional off of the stickered price...

Re: Kroger's Cheap New HBO DVD's and Unversal HD-DVD's (YMMV)

Worked for me today (no 50% off signage). I got Fearless, Slither, Land of the Dead, and Eastern Promises for $13 total.

I used self-checkout to make sure the prices rang up at 50% off. If they don't, it's easy to cancel the order. If your Kroger has these, I recommend using them (if you're afraid you'll go through regular checkout and it doesn't ring up correctly).

IO used the price scanner in the frozen food section to make things easy and check the prices before I went to checkout
