There have been some 25% and some 30% "off one item" coupons. Strangely, even though one may subscribe to their e-mail newsletter, these deals/coupons are sometimes not mentioned therein.

Case in point, the New Year's weekend sale had 30% off entire stock of DVD and BD in store, but I had to check here to find out if there were any online deals available. Another member was kind enough to post a 30% off one item coupon link, but I don't know how he finds these, as there seems to be no place on the website that would logically lead one to them without having the direct (and secret) link.

I went to Borders while they had that sale with a printed $3 off coupon off any Disney DVD or Blu-ray (which expired 12/31/2008). I was able to use that coupon in addition to the 30% off promotion to get National Treasure 2 for $19.20 (I used a $10 gift card to help knock the price even lower and only paid $9.20 out of my own pocket).

Since I don't anticipate any 40% coupons for a while, I used this one in conjunction with some Borders Bucks to pick up the complete M Squad set for about $23 less than I could've paid anywhere else. And for those who often chide Borders for having higher prices, this normal price is $10 more at Amazon... :)
