Re: The Official Borders Coupon Thread volume 2 - Updated Weekly

Unfortunately, since Borders had downsized their DVD and CD selections so drastically I find it difficult to find things to use the in-store coupons for. I use the on-line coupons when the discounts are serious, i.e., 30% or more. And when I do find something in their brick and mortar stores - the clerks often ask, at the checkout - "Did you find everything you were looking for," and I just give them my "Are you serious?" look.

Very true. At this point amazon.com is giving the best deals for Blu-Rays, DVDs & Music--in fact they appear to be going after the Blu Ray market very aggressively: 2001 Blu Ray was $7.99 for weeks. Goldfinger Blu Ray is $12.99, Searchers is $7.99, etc.

Still, picked up a couple of Criterion Collection Out of Print titles recently with the 40% off coupons for $23.99--why spend $50 each on ebay?

Prices are pretty ridiculous. Not bad if you have any borders bucks to add to it, though.

Didn't find any box sets that I wanted, but I did buy a copy of Cocoon on Blu-Ray for $13.99 + tax.

Re: The Official Borders Coupon Thread volume 2 - Updated Weekly

saw that after I posted...thanks though. picked up Yojimbo blu for $21 after the coupon and a $5 promo gc I had.

Are other stores as pathetically stocked w/ films now as ours? It seems like they don't eve bother restocking anything that sells - and they've had the same 15-20 Criterions since the holidays w/ no new releases at all - w/ the exception of one copy of Bigger Than Life in SD. But they didn't even get that in blu. I was amazed to see one each of Yojimbo and Sanjuro in the blu shelves...those are the first new blus i've seen in months. Pretty lame all around. I'm curious to see if they get M, Stagecoach, and Walkabout coming up considering they are pretty big titles.

Thanks for the link! I got sent a Borders Bucks notification but no coupon this week. I was going to order a book through Amazon but the Bucks + coupon combo makes it cheaper to go through Amazon.

Re: The Official Borders Coupon Thread volume 2 - Updated Weekly

got some border's bucks and am out of town in a hotel a block from a big ass border's - so would like to use it this week as they have a good dvd/blu ray selection - unlike my local store that hasn't restocked anything other than new releases since last fall.

so no coupons this week? seems like there is always at least a 30/33% off one item coupon going...with the occasional 40/50%er popping up. i'm here till early next week, so I guess i can wait....but i wanna buy something NOW dammit!

Re: The Official Borders Coupon Thread volume 2 - Updated Weekly

Anyone else feel that Border's coupons are nearly worthless? I tried to use the recent 40% off and found absolutely nothing that I couldn't get cheaper elsewhere. That's the third straight time I've not used the 40 off. For those of you that do use them, what are you getting?
