Finally picked up Bowling for Columbine 2 disc OOP dvd. They had like 8 in the store. They also had a ton of two packs for 4 dollars.

Went again yesterday to a different BL and saw box set of Thunderbirds yet again. It's only 7 dollars.

I bought six of them that say they hold 280. It's not quite that much (well unless you count in a few thinpaks) They are well made for $40 towers and I am happy with them. You can check them out at sauders.com. I've been using bookcases for a long time and am glad to having storage that actually fits dvds.

Is it this one? If so, it doesn't look stackable which would be a problem for me. I need a LOT of shelf space for the 2000+ dvd's and 1000+ vhs.

One of the two packs was a Loni Anderson 2 pack, containing the Jayne Mansfield Story with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Never seen it, but maybe worth a look....

I have one of these units, bought at Big Lots. It's a surprisingly nice piece of furniture, given the price. Not an heirloom or anything, but a reasonably solid, reasonably attractive unit. No, it is not stackable, and no, it won't hold 280 DVDs. The unit can be constructed with as many as seven shelves (6 adjustable plus the base), but you can only have four shelves that will hold upright DVDs. Each will hold 52 single standard-width DVDs (53 if you pack 'em in tight.) You'd also have room for a fifth shelf that's not tall enough for upright DVDs (about 5 1/2 inches), and of course you could also use the top of the unit as a shelf. I'd make the capacity about 208 without the top, and 262 using the top (and bookends).

Here's a picture:

This is the one that I use:

75 DVD shelf

I've gotten them at Wal-Mart and Big Lots for $20 each. I like them because I can fit 80 single width DVD cases on 5 shelves and I can leave the DVDs on there when I move them.

I have the same unit and have a different opinion. It can have 5 full dvd shelves if you set it up correctly. In your picture, you have two rows each using an extra shelf, so you are doubling them up and wasting space. I also use the top as a shelf too, so I have 6 rows of storage. Even so, after a short time the shelves will start to sag because it's cheap particle board. Cheap shelves like this I can't recommend, spend some extra $ to get something nice and solid. I know I will next time, no more cheap saggy shelves for me.

I have completely forsaken prefab media shelves altogether. After I outgrew my last batch of shelves, I just decided to go to Home Depot and get some 8' boards and some runners and hangers, and just mount everything to my living room wall. Now I have seven (or eight) shelves that are eight feet in length, and very easy to expand. Movies aren't very heavy, so some plastic drywall anchors do the trick just fine.

I didn't stain the wood or make it fancy or anything like that since I'm in an apartment, but it can be done without that much extra effort. I think the entire project cost less than $100.

You can see a picture of it at mylosthighway.com/media.htm. Note: It's in a little bit of disarray since I am doing a little reorganizing- it usually looks a lot better...

Why are you guys spending 40 dollars at Biglots on that shelf?

Go to Ikea, pick up the Flarke for 19.99. It's great. I have two of them!

Panama City, Florida BL had the large cardboard display - barely any titles were missing. The racks were full to the brim with anime and other titles, including ones from the Goosebumps series.

Picked up Ballad of Jack and Rose, Home for the Holidays, Four Weddings and a Funeral SE.

I highly HIGHLY recommend "Home for the Holidays" - it's a great, funny movie, and Robert Downey Jr is especially hilarious in it.

Try WM. Those look identical to some bookshelves I purchased a few years ago. Be aware that they are very cheap and the shelves will warp over time. There is also *lots* of wasted space because they are primarily designed for knick-knacks and books.

I have 3 of these:

I picked 'em up at Hastings last year a few weeks before Christmas for $40 each. They are great! Plus the manufacturer CS is fantastic. One of them had a damaged piece. They shipped a replacement piece within 24 hours of me emailing them about the problem. It came 2nd day UPS.

I *do* think they could have spent a bit more time on the spacing and placement of the permanent shelves and gotten another full DVD shelf out of the system, but they hold what is claimed and are sturdy. I'm hoping Hastings puts 'em on sale again this year as I filled up those 3 as soon as I put 'em up!

I'm very happy with my Big Lots shelves that hold (including the top) over 300. Granted, they may fall apart next week but right now I'm glad I finally have dvd-specific shelves...no more wasted space. I bought six of them from Big Lots and might get one more.

The problem with those Ikea shelves is they aren't spaced right for DVDs- you have lots of empty room above each row, if you could put the shelves closer together you could fit more DVDs in the same space.

True Smithee, True! with that problem aside, they are still sturdy for the price. Now that I think about it. I bought them when they were on sale. 15 dollars each. So in the end of it all, I paid 30 dollars total for both of those. Not bad!

You should see my rear speaker stands I made from these ikea lamps they had on sale over labor day weekend. They are awesome. I paid under 20 bucks for both of them and they are really nice.

was this an email coupon, or something out of a print ad that we would need to clip out the original?

Same one as I printed of the biglots website. You can join and it will be made available for printing on the main page. No need 2 as its the same barcode.

That is the same shelf fiddlesticks has posted above. It'll look nice until you fill it with dvds and the shelves start to sag. I got mine for $32 during the last 20% event, and it's still not worth it
