Hit all the triangle stores last Saturday. According to the Cary store, they get shipments on Fridays, so pretty natural they wouldn't have any since then.

Sterling, VA has a re-up of Sony Pictures Classics titles - same stuff as before but this time it's the cardboard display. Still no boxsets

^It's not all the same Sony stuff at my store (Nashua finally got some new stock), mostly yes, but I found a few new or rare titles:

As Good As It Gets (gold slipcover)
Bats (Sci Fi Essentials)
Dark Crystal (CE box)
Darkness Falls (Sci Fi Essentials)
Frankenfish (Sci Fi Essentials)
Girl, Interrupted
Hollow Man (Superbit)
In The Line Of Fire (Signature Deluxe)
Lawrence Of Arabia (gold slipcover)
Leon - The Professional (Uncut International Version)
Little Women (boxset)
Lone Star State Of Mind (new cover with belt buckle on it, I know someone was wondering about this before)
Love Liza
Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer - Double Feature (More Than Murder / Murder Me, Murder You) (TV)
Rigoletto Story
A River Runs Through It (Deluxe)

also lots more copies of Sheena and Suspect, but they were all still FS.

Where are those damn boxsets!

Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer - Double Feature (More Than Murder / Murder Me, Murder You) (TV)

The 1997 "Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer" with Stacy Keach (26 ep, Tango Entertainment) is an ignored gem. Do these two precede that series?

Lots of Rocky sets and a few of the others at the Kingshighway store in St. Louis. There were at least 3 of the $16 Woody Allen sets (I got one), but none of the $13 one. They had Species, Hannibal, Moore, Sabata, etc. Not being familiar with the titles quoted above I can't say for sure, but I'm fairly sure I did not see those. (Although there were a few big bandai sets with toys inside the packaging.)

Please report back if you find any of the boxsets at the Cary store, that's the store closest to me. I went yesterday and found nothing, but maybe they'll get them in today.

I visited a store yesterday that had a bunch of DVDs stuffed on a regular store shelf a short distance away from the normal cardboard display/wire rack. Makes me wonder if any others have DVDs in multiple locations within the store.

Still haven't seen any of the before mentioned Woody Allen sets at any of the Sacramento stores, hopefully soon.

My intention is to hit the triangle stores again tomorrow after work.
I live closest to the pseudo-downtown Durham one (Roxboro St). Checked it today (not wanting to spend all that gas and find out they just didn't finish unpacking a shipment till tomorrow!)...nothing.

A few boxsets showed up at my local BL. Rocky I-V at $13, Species and Hannibal. Also a Thunderbireds 2 disc set. Already had the Species DVDs and wasn't really interested in the Rocky set, although the first movie was very good. Thunderbirds and Hannibal movies didn't interest me so nothing for me today. Apparently they didn't really receive anything else this week.

Stopped by a large BigLots this evening and they had restocked with about a dozen Gattaca superbits (but no other superbits) and a few other titles. No boxsets or anime.
I got "Memory of a Killer" which I haven't seen listed before.

For the St. Louis, MO area guys...stopped at Mid-Rivers/St. Peters store today, and they had a few of the Michael Moore box, the Sabata box, the Thunderbirds box, the Pam Grier/Fox in a Box, and only one of the Species box. No anime stock oddly enough (Crestwood & St. Ann got 'em, though not the ones I'm hunting for).

For my fellow St Louisans:

Went to St Ann store last night. They had multiple copies of the Woody Allen, MGM Family, Hannibal, Thunderbirds, and Michael Moore boxsets and 1 each of the Sabata and Fox in a box set. No Species. Box sets are in the permanent display, they have two cardboard MGM displays set up.

I picked up the two Woody Allen sets (I noticed one is all comedies, the other all dramas) and, as blind buys, FAR FROM HEAVEN, PIECES OF APRIL and THE HORROR FAMILY box set (which was stickered at $3, not $6 as listed on page 1 of this thread).

Still no sign of box sets at any of the stores here.

Does Big Lots ever do regional things?

I finally found The Comeback. It's okay. The last two episodes made it worth while. Sucks it was canned, since it started getting better.
