I thought I'd alert those who are contemplating the purchase of the Game of Thrones blu-ray complete collector set that B&N is currently having an (seemingly unadvertised) in-store promotion deal of $264 (on the website this set sells at $295). With the membership discount and the 20% coupon this set can had for about $200 inclusive of tax, which is a great deal considering the set sells at about $250 excluding tax everywhere else.

New IN-STORE only 25% off single item coupon for the weekend. I will admit, after the basic absence of BF adn CM codes I was shocked to see even a 20%, much less 25%.

These appear unique code, one time use so it will take me a bit to go through my email, but I will post some later for those who can use.
Of course, the still shouldn't work on the British TV items or most of the items in the UP TO 50% Sale, but I'm sure there are some things they could be quite useful and esp if you have some of those $10 off 25 Gift Card Rewards to use

40% off sale looks like it's on, but as expected coupons do not work. Also none of the Scream Factory BDs I checked are included in the sale.

Not unusual for many of the specialty studios to not be online like Warner Archives, Cohen, Shout, Universal and Sony MOD . If they haven't changed things completely a store based ShiptoHome should work for the 40% and MAYBE member discount unless the reports from November sale were true.
In-store coupons haven't been reported yet on STH orders -- one of the last time the coupons were blocked online, sometimes they still worked in-store for the itmes that weren't discounted online.

This is a generic coupon which is reusable -- once per transaction AND if the clerk will let you use it more than once. It will not work for items marked NO COUPONS and I don't think it will work for in-store purchases already in the 40% sale, but it's worth a try. I think the expiration in 12/31/2019

I did see a GC promo in-store today that I think's good through Christmas

Buy $100 GC, get a $10 Promo Card. I think it's similar card to the BF style card. Not great but any little extra can't be a bad thing.

There isn't a listed expiration date on the offer that I can find so this may last for a while. Note like the Rewards Cards for those GC around BF this is a limited time Card and appears to have a 2week expiration date after it it sent to the customer. It does appear that Gift Card purchase may qualify for the bonus and I can't see any restriction that it has to be a Credit Card purchase so a purchase with a Gift Card should work (can't buy Gift Cards with Gift Cards or Bonus Rewards though). Since it requires a code being added, it added seems you can't use a 15-20% code AND EARN10 in the same purchase so IF you happen to have a discount code, you might have to do a workaround and buy a GC first, then make a purchase with the EARN10 code.

Do people actually use these coupons? If so, what do they use it on? Just curious, because I thought the only time the coupons were any good were when they were combined with sales, and even then the coupons are becoming less and less useful.

Plenty of people use them I guess on non-movie items. Not all sale items block coupons.
I get a lot of requests from people buying LP's which rarely seem to go on sale and some folks don't have other sources of LP locally and are really hesitant about buying online.
With membership and 10-15% coupon that apparently makes them happy.

As picky as folks are about slipcovers, etc I fine the LP crowd is 10 times worse about condition which makes those spider wraps on $300 Collector LP Boxset esp disastrous

A lot of the 30 and 40% and even 50% off books will accept coupons in store as well and often those will end up not only cheaper than Amazon, etc, but you can
take it home with you.

Coupons are certainly less available and helpful than a couple years ago, but less isn't none.
I still got quite a run of coupon use at the last 40% off Bluray sale mostly through ship-to-home program of course. A bunch of Shout, WAC, Sony MOD, etc items were great prices (relative to other sales) even without a coupon.
If you loaded up on 20-35% off gift cards during the holidays then that just makes a coupon a bit more gravy even though the price might be a hair higher than Amazon, but the net OOP cost quite a bit lower.

I thought this was an interesting post. It looks like the new owners aren’t treating their employees well during these challenging times. My heart goes out to these employees.

Just curious, have they closed the cafe's instore? I did not go last weekend so not sure if they roped off the seating area.

They really are being stingy with the coupons. You would think they would do everything to get people to buy items. Instead, they are doing the exact opposite.
